So benchmark applications are irritating.. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I've done some research but can't seem to find a general consensus. Is there really any significance in benchmark applications? There is too much variation in the results given by each application comparing the same devices.
I score higher than any other phone in Antutu yet I bomb out when compared to the SAME phones in Smartbench and Quadrant.
Which benchmark application if any has proven most consistent in providing accurate performance results of top phones?

antutu is the most accurate compare to others but yet for me benchmarks don't mean tw*t ..cause a phone is good as how you use it but silly benchmark results don't make a difference.

Wali makes a good point. Benchmarks are to see the phones capability, depending on which rom and kernal is being ran. Benchmarks have no affects on real life daily usage, not huge differences anyway.

There is also speculation that higher quadrant scores greatly increase your chance of being hit by a bus. Don't say I didnt warn you.

What was your score before you modded it? Compare your new high score to that and you will know if improvement was accomplished.
That's the problem....this necessarily isn't true and is why real world results are preferred

It may not be 100% accurate, but flashing between stock and oc kernel, my score went up 800 points. I Berlins it can be used as a rough measuring tool.
Antutu and cf bench are fairly consistant. Typically they match real world results but sometimes.they are just way off. Using the coca-cola Tom now and it's quick with great battery life but scores extremely low

Over 7,000 is a good score. I get around 6,000 on a stock-ish kernel (not OC'd).
Please don't take offense at some of the responses, it's just that too many people put too much emphasis on benchmark scores when the scores really don't take into account everything that impacts the performance of your phone.
I've had phones with crappy performance and high benchmarks and vice versa. Benchmark scores are good for comparing different roms as a base point, but the only thing that really matters is how it performs for you.

Share Your ICS Benchmark Results

Well I'm just curious (as I'm sure many others are) what kind of qualitative results folks are seeing.
Personally it seems zippier, and lets face it it just more fun having a real ICS ROM vs a ICS lok-alike.
Don't get me wrong, we have some excellent devs who work tirelessly to squeeze our 'Rockets for all they can get me(and I'm sure we'll see some AMAZING ICS-build ROMS sooner rather than later.) I thought this would be a good starting/reference point for us to look back upon...

LOL - sorry will edit! That's my GB score. So the "weird" was that I got a higher score on GB than he's getting on ICS.
Trust me... my F5 key is wearing out at work today!!!

Not overclocked at all. Going through older screenshots and I have a 6607 on GB stock as well. I've hit 7334 when OC (sry, included wrong screenshot for that one).
I got 6190 on the new ICS Rom. My scores were lower compared to Pixelens until the IO performance. My numbers were significantly better for DB, read and write.
6315 AnTuTu on stock ICS. Only ran it twice and that was the second score.
The phone is definitely more responsive vs. Gingerbread though.
I'm thinking they redid the kernel to be more like an interactive governor.
More emphasis on the user experience, and less emphasis on the background processing.

Yeah, benchmarks don't mean anything to me. If it runs fast, doesn't lag, and transitions are smooth, etc...I could care less about a benchmark number and they differ so much from one run to another anyways. Pshh, who cares
Here is mine. I only ran the benchmark twice.

[antutu][show your scores]

Its your turn to show off!
This is the place where you can post your Antutu benchmark score with pride. The winner is the contestant who can squeeze the highest Antutu score out of their Moto Atrix 2!
There will be no prise for the winner. Just pride .
So go ahead! Go download Antutu from Google Play if you haven't already, and come show the others who's boss!
I wish you all good luck .
(P.S. Post a screenshot and/or say what ROM you're running, so others know what to go for!)
Where are your scores? Take the initiative and post yours then I will follow up.
will as soon as i have fixed my bootloop problem lmao

Wow these are high . Are you all just overclocking and doing nothing else? Or is there some well known secret to squeezing out this performance? My score is around 6240 running SCv6 1200MHz, btw (won't bother with screenshot since it's not all that hot).
I haven't figured out why my screenshot keeps messing up the colors.

Most screen shot apps have a check box to invert red and blue colors.....might want to try that.

Thanks for the help. I found it in the settings & now the colors aren't inverted.

I never thought i'd have a reason to post here since I'm not big into OC'ing, but, dang... i've never been able to reach 1200 stable on tweaked out GB... but on stock ICS... i'm impressed.

AOKP 4.2 Overclocked Kernel

Hey, I just have a quick Question, I'm using Jellybam Rom and im getting a score of 4.788 on (Quadrant Standard) benchmark (without any overclock), i tried AOKP 4.2 rom with the overclocked 1.8 last night but im just getting 4.3 - 4.5 score, i just dont understand how a none overclocked rom is giving me a better score than an Overclocked 1.8 Rom. I will appreciate any suggestion.

Benchmarks don't necessarily mean anything.. and it certainly does not mean that the overclocked kernel is LESS powerful than the non overclocked kernel. Don't pay too much attention to benchmark numbers man.

Benchmarks means nothing... Real world usage is what matters.
I get like 4k in quadrant with CM10, but its a hell a lot faster in the real world than stock ICS 4.0.4 (which scored little over 9k).

No prob.
But then, i agree with the thought that benchmarks mean nothing and what's more important is the real life usage because even though JB produces higher benchmark in both quadrant and antutu, in real life, the stock ICS feels so much smoother and stable.
