[Q] wireless tether epic4g to xoom

Hi I'm new to xda, although I'v used the forum before for help with rooting and such but i recently got a wifi model of the xoom and I wanted to use the wireless tether app on my rooted epic but when i scan on my xoom nothing comes up, I know it tethering because it shows up on my laptop and I think the issue is frequency. I think the xoom only works with 2.5ghz and up and my epic only tethers at a max of 2.48ghz does anyone know if theres anyway around this so i can connect my xoom to my epics wifi any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Meaf

The Wifi Tether for root users creates an Ad-Hoc network. Android devices (your tablet) cannot connect to Ad-Hoc networks.
The built in wifi tethering (when the hardware supports it) creates an infrastructure network - which any android device can connect to.

[Q] 4g bluetooth from Bionic?

Hello all, I am curious if someone might be able to answer and maybe solve my bluetooth tether in 4g.
My xoom is currently on Moray 2.2.1..It is a verizon 3g(no data plan).I was connecting bluetooth through my moto droid x for months. Well, got a Bionic the other day and when I tested to see if the bionic would share date thru bluetooth it worked...I was happy. Well, I tried to connect today out of my area and it wouldn't connect for the live of me...when I got back home and tried it again it worked. Thats when it hit me. My xoom isn't connect to my bluetoothed data while in town cause it was in a 4g area...as soon as it goes 3g it connects...
okay, so enough with the long story..here's the question:
When paired and connected between xoom and bionic, does the xoom literally use the 3g signal through the radiol? Or is it just connecting through software?
And if It is software, can I flash the lte radio software image from the HLK75 build that has been posted?
I wasn't planning on getting the 4g radio hardware upgrade, but if it uses the radio, looks like i'll have to..
Thanks in advanced.

[Q] (help) motorola xoom 3g verizon ..updated to ics wifi only os

Hi guys I need help or info about this Ive always wanted Motorola Xoom wifi only but I received Verizon one with 3g not upgraded to lte . I rooted it and installed ics for the wifi only system from Google or android website its stock ..
And works actually very well no 3g ..nothing about service I don't mind since I'm not with Verizon and not planning to go with them I just need wifi but my question is ...is it right I mean everything works good only the battery It seems like honeycomb stock verizon build battery stays longer is it because of wifi only ice version ..or something I'm not sure if somebody can help me with info
Hmmm ... me too. I have a Xoom tablet arriving this week, and it was listed as "MZ600 Xoom, LTE ready, Verizon". Which rom version should I install? I do not plan to activate it with Verizon, as I already have a dinc running CM7 nightly build 258, and waiting for ics. I would just like to run ics on the Xoom. If I don't activate the Xoom, which rom should I use, or CAN I use??
If both of you are not planning to activate with Verizon, using a Wifi only ICS ROM won't be a bad idea. I too have installed this to a friend of mine and he hasn't experienced any issues. You will not be missing out of any features because the only main difference is the 3g / LTE radio.
So anyone has seen the stock ICS for the xoom 3G version?
AFAIK wifi only is the only model to get an official update. Running the wingray build on cdma or lte is just fine.

[Q] is my xoom 3g or WiFi?

Hey guys
I had my xoom for over a Year, bought it on eBay from some guy who owned it for few weeks
Since them i thought my xoom is WiFi only, but few weeks ago i instaled a big part omniroom
Today i notice in performance settings is written there that i have a stingray hardware (i installed the wingray omnirom)
It's just a unofficial software bug or i really have a stingray version of xoom?
Go to Settings-About tablet-Model number. This will tell you what you have.
It's written there that i have xoom WiFi, but it is not because of that I've installed a wingray rom?

Sorry, don't know. I've only ever used Everest ROMs.
Do you have a SIM card you can test it with?
