Im just curious how many of you out there would recommend an iPhone over an Android phone or an Android over an iPhone. After being an iOS user since 09 and recently switching to Android, I would actually say that Android is my favorite. Just because of all the customization options I have and all the things I can do that I could of never done with an iPhone (even when jailbroken). Now I'd like to hear your opinion.

my friend had an iphone 4 and we jailbroke it and he was showing all the cool things you can do with jailbroken phones..
i was like wait.... what? my phone could do this before it was even rooted.
makes me sad that ios has sooo many features just "missing" that phones should have. or be able to do. i guess thats why its not open sources... =\
Actually I like iOS 'cause it's so stable and really really easy , thus leaving it for all ages to use. But it's really limited and therefore you jailbreak.
Android on the other hand is a very good OS too! It's very very versatile and you can custom it like you want. The only thing with Android is that it's kind of messy.
So to conclude iOS is an OS that you'll find attractive in first look and some months to come. Android is an OS that grows on you and you'll love it in the long-run.
Has anyone seen iOS5? Apple obviously stole almost every new feature from the jailbreak community then they stole notifications from Android. They need to come up with their own ideas.

They do that quite often! Same happend with iOS 4 with the wallpaper and multi tasking
I suspect you're going to get android as the majority answer here.
I'm over the ios>android or android> ios. They're different beasts with great qualities all around. I think ios is a simpler os in that really anyone can use it. At the same time, android's strength comes in its flexibility and customization. This doesn't suite everyone because really the majority of people just want an easy button. They can find that in android, they just don't have the patience to look.

I wouldn't neccesarily say that Apple stole multitasking from another OS/Device because its different. I mean, come on, its fake. I wouldn't say Apple stole the homescreen wallpapers either. Its an image that doesn't move and it isn't live. Basically, it makes it look a little better. No biggy.

If you want to use your phone as a phone with a little web browsing and a little Angry Birds playin', get iOS because its simple. If you want to make your phone the way you want it and you like customization, freedom, and the ability to to almost anything with your phone, get Android. =)

I would really like Ios, it's not a bad OS. Multitask, runs pretty decent, huge app store, but there are a couple reasons why I'm not on ios.
Flash, I use flash on my phone all the time. Keeps me entertained.
Screen size, 3.5" is too small for me.
Carrier, I'm on Sprint dammit.

I use an iPhone for the reliability of it. And because currently it's the only phone I have with FFC. I also use an Android phone because of the enjoyment of it and apps. I feel my Inspire is smoother and nicer than my iPhone, but not as reliable. The screen isn't nearly as good as the iPhone 4's, either.
I also use a WP7 device and feel WP7 will overtake bother other formats eventually. It's that good.
But right now I don't leave the house without my iPhone. I feel secure in the knowledge I can get ahold of someone shuld the need arise. My Inspire almost got my family and I lost once due to a malfunctioning compass and non-functioning nav.

Almost exact sentiment, except in reverse. My trusty Eris does all my heavy lifting for work-related tasks while my iPhone is my gps/playtoy. Haven't gotten my hands on a windows phone yet but they certainly are sounding more and more attractive these days!
iOS is too newbie friendly for me, no offence to the people on here btw, you guys are awesome

Thats a nice OS but a WP7 phone at work somehow got a virus and it wouldbt let the phone do anything and all it did when you turned it in was show a big smiley face with the bird finger. XD
So yeah unlike allot here i won't go FU on iOS.
Here is my subjective list of pro & contra for both systems.
Mind you i have used both.
iOSPLUS:
Stable
For it's money a well running piece of software built on that specific hardware
Fast
Simple to use
Design = top notch
Good service and reliable
Contra:
Hard to modify the feel of the OS
Forced to stay with all apple software (unless jailbroken) to downlaod upload music,etc..
Easy to jailbrake but still a challenge
AndroidPLUS:
Easy to use
Smooth and stable
Easy to modify and root
Customizable to a great extend
Perfectly combined with all Google products
Good service and help from google with personal calls explaining things
Contra:
Default FM can hang once in a while
Without root no way to do much or change much
Easier battery drain (personal opinion)
No updates for all the phone due to builds and limitations ( this is because there are so many companies producing Androids but all with different specs)
WP7Well really don't have much usage experience i did boot the emulator to check it out. Can't say it's ugly but doesn't look appealing either.
I believe that the OS probably is decent but it doesn't beg me to try it out
I think the WP7 is a good phone matching all other MS products. Like Xbox to phone connections and with Win8 it will be easy to look things up on your PC and share it with your phone if you godda go real quick. Win8 get's the same WP7 overlay.
All in all no real user experience so won't brake it down.
I believe it's a small correct list.
I can't say i hate either one of them but currently running android. Feels a Little slower then iOS but my biggest plus is all my Google Docs,Searches,G+,Mail,Pic are easy to acces with simple clicks from your phone.

Think both are worth as much but if you like to mess around with your phone i would advise the android OS. Also you are more free to choose a phone to your liking then being forced a same look like the guy next to you in the train has.
What to say to apple fans trying to manipulate a layman, into buying an apple, in laymen terms? Or what's the ultimate android to apple bash? Or what's the best reason to buy android vs apple? One of the main reasons I wanna know what other people would say, especially to their friends or family. I've never touched a Mac nor will I ever so I can't really say anything but tech specs, so that's my main reason to start this thread. Plus... I also wanna hear if other people are as sick as I am just hearing the freakin word, "Apple".

before i use Apple, i thought it is the best phone, but after i use apple iphone 4, i find it is good but with so many limitions, cannot download the useful apps is not good.till now, i can only download the apps from app store. while android is much better than iphone, my husband's galaxy s2 hd lte is good enough.
Why is there an apple sub forum in xda. Wont it be a head ache for the mods to get the spam out of it?
Ontopic. My brother has an apple and he can't stop bragging about it. Apple this apple that. I don't know what so big of a deal with it. Its also costs damn too much. I do accept its a bit fast and little stuff but that would be cause I have a wildfire.
Also it only varies based on its memory Rom (or whatever they call it) . No different styles no different sizes. But android ranges from big to small powerful to low powered.
Maybe I say this cause I only used android but I'm not gonna use iPhone any time in the future.

I would say try an iPhone and try an Android phone - the iPhone will let you do so much, but then it will give you a brick wall which you can't jump over. The Android phone, on the other hand, will give you a blank canvas which you can turn into a Picasso or a Rembrandt, depending on your tastes.
Android = customisation, at its best.
iPhone = standardisation and closed ecosystem (at its best).
It all boils down to preferences anyway. I'd stick with Android though. I just can't stand the fact that iPhone's UI is a glorified app drawer. BORING.
I purchased an iPhone 4 the first month it came out. I had never owned a smart phone before this. I thought it was fun to play around with but I eventually got really bored of it. After 3 months I really didn't understand the hype behind the phone. I gave it to my dad and went back to my 5 year old Sony Ericsson which was WAAAAY more customizable than the iPhone, even though it was very old. With the iPhone I felt like someone was cutting my steak for me and cleaning my mouth, but with the Sony Ericsson I could choose whatever type of Steak I wanted and make it myself, constantly trying new seasonings. I know that was a terrible metaphor, but whatever.
In January of last year I picked up an HTC Inspire 4G. The first month my grades dropped because of how much fun I was having. I rooted it, installed a custom ROM, playing GBA/SNES/N64 games, and did everything I could do on my PC on my phone. I even edited microsoft word documents before sending them to my teachers straight from my phone. It was a whole new world. I could literally do anything with my phone.
Over the summer I bought a Galaxy S2 i9100, and I still have it. Best. Phone. Ever. Created. I skype with my friends using the front facing camera, watch HD videos while exporting to my HD TV, and connect a mouse and keyboard and surf the web while on vacation. I even leave my laptop at home when I travel on short trips now. I just hook up the phone to the hotel's TV and browse the web.
So the reason I prefer Android is that you can do anything you can on an iPhone and a lot more. IOS is discovering an alien civilization deep within space while Android is finding an empty planet and colonizing it.

From my "experience" (@Israel) most people with iphones are those who use their PCs just for facebook, they just dont want anything "complicated".
Android is more of a thinking man's platform (imo!)
Once a friend of mine bragged that the iphone is simple & small while android (galaxy nexus) is too complicated, messy and huge.
It made me chuckle cuz most people (including him) have huge cases on their iPhone's making it bigger and uglier than my HTC desire, which survived, and continues to kickass w/o a case for almost two years now.

A friend of mine recently just upgraded from the iPhone 3Gs to the iPhone 4s. When I found out, I was all, "uhh, I've shown you what Android can do." To which my friend responded, "Yeah, but all I really do on my phone is check Facebook & Twitter."
Just saying, if that's all I did on my smartphone, I wouldn't spend the extra money a month for a data plan. I would just have a regular flip phone.

iAgree. But I think iPhone(along with all Apple products) makes some kind of ego for the owner. Other people think they are rich and elegant etc.
But as we all know, it's not cool to own an iPhone

Actually, iPhones don't cost more than any other Android super phones. People just think iPhones are expensive because they don't offer a lot of bang for your buck.

Apple is a novelty item now a days. Just to show off that they have it.
In the early days, it was the thing to have because it had all the apps and all the things people would want but now that Android is growing and developing more, it's almost the same for normal users. Of course the android needs to be on even grounds with the apple phone to be considered. ie iPhone 4 to Sg2, Razr, nexus.
For Normal users, if they don't customize the rom, and use it is as is. I think Apple would be the most useful for them.
For "Advanced" users (I use advanced lightly), the Android can do a lot more than Apple in terms of customization and useage.
Personally I'd go with Android. I thought about getting an iPhone but in the end I chose the galaxy S.

Given the kind of feedback that's coming out I suggest we keep this thread under the radar, lest Apple decide to sue us for breaking one of their patents.
Considering the patents they have, I wouldn't be surprised they patented "the ability to have an opinion on a smartphone and its real value" by now! They typically use that patent to spread wrong ideas against Android phones (forceclosing issues, copying, etc) and in favour of their product (the "innovative" FaceTime for instance, new notification system, etc) to their sheep..er.. I mean, customers.
My Opinion
My own feeling is that the iphone is great for those who want an item that comes out of a box in a usable form that they can conform to.
The android is best for someone that wants to customize their phone to their likes, and for the tasks they will perform.
My wife would probably do great with an I-phone, She has an android, but she has never changed anything about it since the second day she had it.
I am always trying roms, kernals, and apps to make my phone perfect for me.
my gf recently got her first android.
after a day she asked me if she could change that stupid lockscreen from samsung to something.. more useful.
i showed her widgetlocker
now her lockscreen looks cooler than mine... xD
thats something what would've been impossible with an iphone..

The biggest thing that annoys me with apples OS is the lack of a dedicated back button and the functionality that goes along with it. Its very annoying to open a link in an email and then have to manually go back to the email app. Very disorienting. Every other mobile os has some way of accomplishing this.
It seems that ever since January of 2007, when Apple revealed the rumored iPhone that they have been on top of the mobile game. Even before the phone was even for sale, it literally became the most hyped device in the world. Well its been over 5 years and Apple continues to control the mobile tech game.
But this can't last forever can it? Let's think about the mass popularity of Blackberrys and Sidekicks. Blackberry is a dying brand and sidekick's aren't even relavent in 2012.

Do you believe the Apple iPhone will continue to be the most popular device? Or will something eventually come along in 5-10 years and just take over the market?
I think this is a big question because many of us speak of how Apple will eventually have the iPhone 10 but we never consider the competition.
I personally feel that apple has its days numbered with the following that certain android based phones are gathering. HTC and Samsung alike are well on their ways to EVENTUALLY topple apple.
I give it three years, apple wont be on top, but will still be relevant. Unless apple changes the game a bit, 10 years and we may be saying "apple who?" There's only so many times you can sell a different variation of a general idea.

People choose iPhone due to awesome user experience having no performance glitch. Project Butter brings that to Jelly Bean. So, I think.. Android is going to take crown this time.
What I like most: Android users have big choice of hardware specs. If you purchase any digital content from Play Store (or, Amazon App Store), you can use them on large no. of devices which is not true with iTunes case!

I have but one statement to add to this:
If HTC and Samsung wasn't doing so well in the smartphone market, why does Apple keep trying to sue them for anything they can?
Hell, even the Gooapple v5, although a Chinese knockoff, is still a better phone to me just because it runs Android and not iOS.
Say or think what you may, but android should be able to corner the market inside of 12-18 months based on the amount of users alone. No more desktops, no more laptops, and net books with touchscreens that run Android 3.2 for those that want a keyboard...
The future is in your hands, brandish it like a weapon and show it off to every iPhone user you know.

fyi , Android owns over 50% of the world market for the last 2 years at least. Its now around 61% and only 29% for Apple.
I just came from an iPhone 4 to an HTC one x as my first Android device. Just about everyone I actually know that's closely related to me has an iPhone as well.
One thing I've noticed about them is that they don't really seem to care what the latest features of Android are compared to the iPhone. Even when I gloat about what my phone can do compared to their's they just don't seem quite as convinced or impressed by it.
Their only argument for staying with the iPhone is the app store, which I must agree is quite impressive. The also seem to have a misconception that Android is hard to navigate or use compared to iPhone. to some degree it is true, but I wouldn't say it's hard, its just not as user friendly as ios.
Apple will probably retain a lead until they mess up big time with their phone. I feel that moment is coming soon. The os look and feel is extremely outdated in my opinion. They need a new layout for their home screen and something different to keep it fresh.
Also I would like to mention from a personal experience that iPhone is great out the box whereas Android isn't good until you root and throw some great roms on it.

No, they won't. Samsung outsold Apple in Q1 this year. It will happen again. Instead of innovating Apple seems content to litigate and steal, meaning that they aren't bringing anything fresh to the table. People will eventually get tired of shelling out money for new iPhones with almost no appreciable differences. What will the next iPhone offer? A slightly larger screen, UI upgrades stolen wholesale from Android, maps purchased from elsewhere, and most likely 4G. Nothing cutting edge and nothing that isn't already offered in a plethora of forms in other devices.
Granted, it will take some people time to break away, especially those heavily invested in iOS apps, but it will happen. If all Google offered from its Nexus line were the same phone year after year with only minor changes how many Android users would see any need to continually upgrade? If Android users had no choice but to buy a new device every two years so that it could actually function on the newest OS how many of us would continue to support them? Androids weak point has been manufacturers and carriers not getting the new Android versions out to devices, but as devs have made clear the hardware itself is plenty capable of utilizing whatever Google brings us. That's something that iOS can't claim. Heck, even a number of newer iDevices had major issues with iOS 5. Dinosaurs will die and Apple is sounding its own dirge by refusing to stay competitive and treating its customers like idiots.

I wouldn't quite say so.
Android can run widgets, live wallpaper, custom lockscreens, different launchers, change default apps like MMS/SMS, browser, dialer, camera, etc., out of the box no rooting required.
iOS needs to be jailbroken for those features. And they still don't have widgets, except for those "widgets" in the notification pulldown (which was a complete copy of Android 1.5).
The iPhone 5 will supposedly have a 4 inch screen. The original galaxy S phones from 2010 had 4 inch screens, and the OG Droid from 2009 had a 3.7 inch screen which is bigger than the current iPhone (4S).
Apple will fall soon. A couple of years give or take

Exactly. Androids strength is also a weakness. Variety and choice comes with a price. Apple's sole control over their device and OS allows them to easily roll out updates, whereas with Android, Google, in a way, is at the mercy of manufacturers and carries. Or perhaps it's the other way around?
So what if ICS and JB take while to get official support. Open source development takes care of that problem. In fact, I think it's safe to say that user/ community made ROMs are probably better than official releases.

is this really what apple has going for them? easy sync of music, same OS on every device, little bit bigger screen and a new maps app because they're mad at google for "stealing" from them? apple is a garbage company that over-prices everything and gives their customers a piece of **** in a box.
oh get this LOL also my girlfriends sister has had an IMac laptop or whatever you call it for a couple of years now, 2 times she had to change the hard drive. that is hella sad considering the hard drive is one and only piece of permanent storage pieces in a computer.

I totally agree. If someone can't figure out how to connect to wifi with an android phone, they're not going to magically figure it out if you hand them an iPhone. The process is the exact same no matter which platform you are on. I guess most people haven't tried ICS, because it is just as easy to use as any other OS.
In fact, in a few ways, Android is more user friendly. For example, making a ringtone from an mp3 is fairly easy on Android. Doing the same in iOS or WP7 is a nightmare. Managing music is easier if you know how to drag and drop into folders. Once they start putting NFC chips in bluetooth devices, pairing will be super easy for Android too.

Samsung makes the panels for the iPhone... I would love to see apple go to another vendor, increase screen size and start selling those phones, just so Samsung can sue them for patent infringement due to screen size and technology... that would be the lol of the year!

This is true, and proof can be found in the case of all the Gooapple units sold. Its essentially the same as an iPhone with the exception of the processor AFAIK...

They can't come up with something special every time they release a new one. They are also very limited with the way they can
change the whole thing. It's no coincidence that they stuck with the same screen size for so long. If you make it bigger it's not
really "the iPhone" anymore. I think they are very careful with making such drastic changes which, as I said, limits their innovation.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, on to the elephant in the room:
I'm considering buying an unlocked phone to use for Tmo or Att prepaid plans here in the US. I'm seriously considering the iPhone 5, and the Nexus 4, or a considerably similar phone.
I want you(the community) to help me decide by making some points and just helping me out. This is a big decision and I trust you guys at XDA will help me make the correct decision.
Reasons why I'm considering the iPhone 5:
-Apps developed here almost always before Android, and usually run better on iOS than on Android (Temple Run, Instagram, etc.)
-Some apps exclusive to iOS, like Quizlet (This is a HUGE point, being that my main "studdy buddy" is Quizlet since StudyBlue has a garbage Android app.) (Also, in apps like Flipboard, certain channels blocked to
-iMessage: a lot, and I mean A LOT of my buddies own iPhones, I miss out on a lot of iMessage stuff.
-System-wide color Emoji support (this is the stupidest reason, this shouldn't even be a reason, but whatever)
-Better and much broader range of cases available(LifeProof is a huge bonus, as is Otterbox, etc.)
-Screen looks really nice (even though it's somewhat of a downgrade)
-Notification Center for the lock screen is GREAT imho.
-Find my iPhone and other services already baked in, rather than a standalone app
-Solid construction
Reasons why I'm considering the Nexus 4/Comparable devices
-Google Now
-Ability to make programs default programs, unlike iOS
-Customization
-Swappable keyboards
-Google Maps
-Already have a considerable amount of money (~$15) bought in Play Store stuff that I'd have to rebuy on App Store, plus the money in my Play Store account from credit for buying a Nexus 7 (~$20 left)
If I went the iPhone way, I'd make a complete switch, which means get rid of my N7, which I currently use for college, and replace it with an iPad, which I've heard is better for college.
So, XDA, can you help me make an educated and very expensive decision? Thanks. I'll be monitoring this thread
contract or locked for the iphone? personally i'd go with a nexus for the fact that it's unlocked at a great price, albeit not as great as a contracted phone. also depends if you love to flash or leave it out of the box? iphone only wins for ditching the glass on glass concept

Both would be unlocked. I like flashing new ROMs, but I'll usually wait until they're relatively stable or at least until basic necessities begin to work.
Depends , on what you like to do... But why do you say that is a downgrade the ip5 display, it has the most accurate colors....

For the iphone: it works, good battery life, the newer versions of siri are pretty much tied with google now (whereas the older version was easily beat by google now), and most importantly, it works! (did I mention it works yet? well, it works). Apps tend to run better, and it just feels smoother. I hate to give it to apple, but I have never found an android phone with hardware as nicely done as on an iphone. The con is that it's extremely limited, and I don't like the UI.
nexus 4: just look through the XDA development forums. Then look back at that iphone...need I say more? :good:
added to that, I prefer the UI and the greater amount of customization. Also more great apps are free for android than on Iphone (or at least the ones I tend to use). Overall I feel that an android can do more easier than iphone can, provided you set things up right. I'm mostly looking at the homescreen, but also the settings menu, etc.
So obviously I'm biased towards an android, but I think an iphone has plenty of advantages as well.

I've had Apple devices before and have nothing against them. I bought a MacBook a few years back because it was the best choice for me at the time. I've since gotten rid of the "laptop" part of my device collection and use Linux and an Android tablet + phone. I considered the iPhone when I was shopping.
Personally, I do not like where the iPhone is at right now, that's one of the reasons I didn't go with it. I think Apple really needs to "re-think" iOS and do something perhaps like Samsung has with "Simple" and "Basic" modes for the UI - so that they can get to creating something more than a glorified App Drawer. It's an eyesore to me, and though I appreciate that it's familiar to many people, I don't think it's even the easiest configuration to use for new tech users.
I don't really know why an iPad would be better for "college" - I'm going to college right now and have seen people use both Apple and Android tablets. I think the Transformer series from ASUS is the most "college friendly" type of tablet, but I guess it depends on what you're trying to do with it.
If you can't tell, I love learning and playing around with the stuff I have. Android is a better playground for this than iOS which doesn't exactly encourage it. They like to cultivate their system to a high level, but I prefer being able to experiment even if it's possible the outcome will suck.
It really depends on what's important to YOU. I ended up choosing the SIII because I wanted a removable battery and micro SD card and Apple just didn't offer this no matter what. That's what I wanted and what was the "deal maker" for me. I also like that there's so much customisation without having to void the warranty. I can make this the phone I want - the UI is very important for me and while I don't mind OSX (although Ubuntu has done for the general OS look what OSX really ought to do) on a computer, I'm really not a fan of iOS - I feel like Apple's technology and ideas are great, but their software and design aesthetic are lagging - like if Windows 8 hadn't moved on and instead decided to keep the Win98 look so people would be "more comfortable". Because I wanted the removable battery + SD card, that would rule out the N4 for me, too. Personally, I'd still go for the SIII or wait for the IV.
I'm on T-Mobile, I switched from Sprint. I love the service, though I've heard it's not so great on an iPhone. I'd consider the plans and your area and what kind of service there is, too. I have 4G towers all over the city where my school is and get very fast speeds all over campus. But T-Mobile isn't everywhere and I think there are speed issues with the iPhone although if they're getting one, maybe they're changing things ? I don't know, since I'm not in the market for a new phone I haven't looked into this.
i would never suggest to go for a iphone for a simple reason of the difficulty in sharing media over bluetooth. I share a lot of stuff with my friends over bluetooth specially music which is not possible on iphone. i am unsure if the lates iphone 5 has these limitations removed or not. Maybe you could share via whatsapp or other messenger but there are times when there is no network coverage and you want to share stuff and thats when you need bluetooth.
This is well worth watching if you've haven't already, made a similar decision for me quite simple..
...If you like to customize, theme whatever then Get the Nexus, if you want a Phone that does what it says on the tin, and nothing more, get the iPhone.
Nexus 4 for me... Iphone 5 have a lot of problems...

First of all, I am new here. I joined with the vision of getting my question answered, but then i fell over some other threads, and found this forum exciting. So i might stick around for awhile.

Brief:
I currently am in the situation where.. Yes, I am sick of my iPhone.
It's a GREAT phone! It's fast, stylish, and durable (atleast so far!).
But i miss the lack of customization.
Untill last december, i've had android phones. However, back then they were slow. The fastest one I've had, was a Galaxy S II. It was fast back then, but when i use my friend's now, it's so laggy and edgy.
I am really considering getting an Android. But there's a few things holding me back..
iPhone
+ I have an iPhone 5. It's fast.
+ My iPhone 5 is stylish.
+ I have 2 MacBook Pro's, an iMac, Apple TV, iPod and an iPad. So i fear the communication between Android and them.
+ The applications. I personally find Appstore filled with higher-of-quality applications.
+ iCloud. It stores my contacts and stuff. But Android's got an alternative for that tho.
+ iMessage. I love being able to chat from my macbook to iPhones, without confuse. And fast iPhone-to-iPhone chat without the recievant have to download specific software.
+ Reputation. Call me childish, but i just find it "cooler" to have an iPhone..
- Screensize. God it's starting to annoy me. I like having a big badass phone.
- Features. I personally think that the iPhone 5 lacks features.
+/- Jailbreak. Jailbreaking the iPhone gives it alot of awesome features! But having the need to jailbreak it, sucks. Also it makes it impossible to update to the newest immediately. Also yet jailbroken, the system is still very limited. Also it takes a lot of time for it to come out. I haven't had my phone jailbroken for 8 months.
Android
++ CUSTOMIZATION!
++ The freedom to do basically what you want with the phone.
+ Screensize; I find the iPhone 5 screen a tat too small. I miss a bigger size phone, eg the Galaxy S II.
- I fear the speed? Will they be as snappy as i am used to on my iPhone?
- Durability. I remember the old Android phones went slow in just a few weeks due to cache's and stuff. How does that seem now?
+ Features. I think that most Android phones have got some very interesting features. Eg: One Blink Feed, Note 3 S-Pen, S3/4 eye-motion detector.
+ No-jailbreak. Altho Android have the ability to get rooted, it's not necessary (unless you want flashed ROM's). I find that great for my needs, since i love customizing and changing my homescreen-layout / phone functionality on a day-to-day basis. Also iPhone jailbreaks takes a lot of time to come out.
I am very unsure of what to do. It's very hard!
I really like my iPhone, but i miss the lack of customization.
My heart tells me to keep my iPhone, but my brain and inner-geek tells me to go fetch an android.
If it was up to me, i'd have both. But i don't have the money to get a new Android and keep my iPhone. Then i will have to sell my iPhone first.
Could you guys possible give me some aspects and viewpoints on this? I am open for critiques, since i am not coloured of "what's better or worse". I just want personal views.
Also, have anyone gone from iPhone 5 to Android? And did you regret it? (Which i am afraid that i MAYBE will).
And if you advice me to get an Android: Which one?

From what I think, iOS is child's play in comparison to Android.
Howell iPhones are indeed fast, stylish, etc, the OS won't ever give you control of things.
Apple has it's stuff working together well and so, but the price ofcourse, is to it.
Going through your points, you can make yourself a conclusion, this is just my view on things:
Speed
Android can be as fast as you want it to be, only if you are willing to spend the money on it which you would've spend on an iPhone. Also, making tweaks or changes to your system (You're on XDA anyway) helps greatly in this process.
Keep in mind that Apple has only few devices to optimize their system for, while Android is changed to work on a specific device.
Sync
I have to agree here that Apple has the syncs sorted out better. On Android this is a bit messier, but still working very well when you've got everything up and running. The main reason for this, is that Android is existing more and more out of fragments rather than a fullyfixed system.
Apps
Ofcourse the Appstore is filled with way more quality apps; Apple doesn't allow all Apps to there store. It's part of their policy. Where Google only removes apps from their Store, Apple only allows apps to their store.
Also I kinda like that Google makes their apps available to iOS, which I've barely seen the other way.
Messaging
iMessage is great, but since a few months, Hangouts has the same features plus more! And best of it, it's nearly standard packed (older devices will have to update Talk) with the system.
Durability
Android phones are in my opinion better in getting a new life than iOS phones. Ensurely when you're rooted/unlocked. Phones that have been all forgotten about by their manufacturers (also Apple does this) can still be up to date and smooth thanks to the great devs around. It may take some bravery, but that's completely on to yourself.
The other points not covered by these are more subjective I think.
Like I said, take your own conclusions from this and let me hear what it'll be!
