Hi,
Is there anyway to move the status bar to the top of the screen? I often touch the back button with my palm when typing and its really annoying!
Thanks
I should have said, I am running wingray build 53
I haven't ever seen the bar on the top...
Don't think its possible.

I've seen status bar moving top-bottom, but it's on CM7.1 for Rockchip RK2818.... Possible - yes, likely to see it on Xoom or any other ICS tablet - no...
Xoomed with my Motorola

I think you're walking about ParanoidAndroid. It's a Rom with Tablet and Phone UI. No Tweak
no am not talking abt any other rom.
i just want to know is there a mod or tweak which changes the position of status bar from top of the screen to bottom.
meaning the signals bar, notifications, everything appear in the bottom just above the softkeys
Skanky kang also has this option. I have no idea how to port it it miui, sorry.

Not possible in MIUI.
We have a Xoom MZ604. Running Backed - Blackbean 6 ROM w/ Apex Launcher Pro. My dear wife was using the tablet and when I pick it up (landscape mode ) the Nav bar was across the complete bottom, the Status bar was across the top, the Google Search was on the left and the Dock bar was on the right side.
It was as if I was using a phone. When going back and forth between views the bars stayed in their relative positions. I really started to like this look and I could use my right thumb and scroll thru the dock bars quickly. But had NO idea what she had done
Had to reflash ROM, installed new TWRP recovery ***AWESOME*** etc, and for the life of me can't seem to duplicate whatever my wife had done. Searched forums and tried different settings over and over!!
WHAT DID IS MISS??? Hope its easy and I can feel like an idiot, haha.

I was wondering if anyone knows how I am able to install the asus status bar lock onto my TF300T. I am currently running PA and would love to add this function back to my tablet (the little dot in the middle of the bar that you can tap and swipe to un/lock)
Is this possible at all?
I don't think it can be done but I may be wrong. Have you tried looking under settings/system? Some status bar settings are located there.
Edit: are you trying to get the status bar to open? I never used the function that you're talking about. Maybe a launcher like ADW would be able to do what you are talking about.

Just upgraded to Razr Maxx HD running JB (4.1.1). I'm a Button Savior guy (soft keys) so I have no use for the space-wasting navigation bar that spans the bottom of the screen. I can't find a way to disable it. I've read LOTS of entries on the subject but haven't found the right solution. I tried modifying build.prop with qemu.hw.mainkeys=1. That worked, sort of (left the very bottom of the screen blank and unusable) but generated lots of those System UI (or whatever it is) error messages. I installed a couple of different apps that are supposed to make the Navigation Bar disappear (NavBar and FullScreenToggle, for instance) but all that does is make the same build.prop entry, which generates the same error messages. One app hid the Navigation Bar but kept the space it took up blank. What's the point of THAT? I read that CM10.1 and ParanoidAndroid have a control to hide the Navigation Bar, and I don't mind flashing a new ROM, but the custom JB ROMs seem to still have bugs in areas that would be a problem for me (BT, wi-fi tether, camera).
So -- I can't find a solution. I believed I've searched pretty thoroughly but hopefully I've overlooked something. My Maxx HD is rooted, of course (w/Safestrap), and running the stock ROM. I love the phone. Just want to be able to hide/disable the Navigation Bar and have full use of the space it takes up.
wrong forum bro
Why? Because it's a Maxx HD? Won't apps, tweaks and ROMs work the same way on all the Razrs?
Bump for you because I'm in the same boat. I have my other cm rom tweaked perfectly but it's not a daily driver because of camera and tether.
Ideally it would be a solution for rooted stock rom

My RAZR HD is on JB 4.1.2 and I managed to hide the Navbar with qemu.hw.mainkeys=1. I used to get SystemUI crashes on ICS, but since JB no crash whatsoever.
If qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 worked for me (without FCs) I'd be done. All I want to do is disable the Navigation Bar. I don't want to hide the System (Notification) Bar. I don't need to toggle the Nav Bar on and off. I just want to be able to use my full screen. I have to say, Goggle putting out JB for smartphones with a bar on top and another bar on the bottom seems stupid. They consolidate the bars on the larger screens, not on the smaller screens.
Is your HD on the stock ROM? How did you get 4.1.2? I'm still on 4.1.1 and my system says it's up to date.
Can someone who is rooted confirm if smart status bar app ( pro / free ) version works ?
I use this everyday to get screen back on my N4 hoping the launcher has not screwed this up
Hey, I just looked into the app and if I understand correctly, it reveals the status bar in full screen apps.
KitKat has this feature built in. Swipe from the top down to reveal the status bar at and time

Yeah almost, however when combined with full screen mode the status bar auto hides when not in use and pings down and shows its self until you deal with the notification.
It needed root under 4.3 to work in order to redraw the status bar, its not simply hiding the bar constantly not sure how 4.4 deals with it as I have poor WiFi and can't download a build for my n4/7 in any less than 8 hours.
