Why no Media Hub on the Note? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

I had it on my first Samsung Tab. Also not on the 7.7

Uhm... media hub is right there... in system/app... if your not on a custom rom that might have removed it...

No, on mine it's not there. I have a stock GT-N7000 Note. I tried side-loading
it but it doesn't work.

Present here on a stock KKA Note.

Looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't understand why we don't have this. I thought I may have deleted it by mistake, but as I've stated, I tried side-loading three or four different APKs and none of them work.

I'm in the USA, but bought Note unlocked, from importer. (AT&T sims). If region is the problem, is their a workaround?

My note does not have it either. Dont really care that much, but I do have $50 worth of free videos I bought so that would be cool to access.

How did you try to install the APK? It won't work if you downloaded it and tried to install it as usual, because MusicHub is a system app so you'll need to copy it to /system/app, so you must have root.
Have you tried it?

The people saying they have it. Are you talking media hub or music hub.
I have music but not media hub
GALAXY NOTE

Oooh! LOL, i do not have MediaHub. MusicHub, yes.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

Guys,
Those HUBS are based upon your CSC file. Depending on the region selected, you can gain access to them. NO need to root for these.
People who have access to those hubs, please provide these guys which Region CSC is stated. Do so by accessing *#1234# and provide the CSC code.
To change your CSC (It will erase all of your data / will do a system wipe).
*#272*IMEI# (Replace the imei with your IMEI number)
Select the region which contains the HUBS and hit OK.
Your device will reboot, change the CSC, do a wipe and reboot. You should now see the Hubs.
To obtain your IMEI number, dial *#06#
NOTE: This may not work for all. Changing the CSC to a specific region requires your CSC to be Multi CSC.
Alternatively, you can flash another ROM from a different region to obtain access tho those HUBC.
You will not require ROOT.

thats one thing i havent seen since i jumped to this samsung device, radio roms. I assume then that its possible just yet to be done as its so new?
Anyone tried this out yet? Just wondering what the differences are...? And what does "unlocked for gsm/3g/lte toggle" mean? The stock Rogers rom already has this ability to toggle between LTE/GSM/HSPA... Also mine came stock with I727RUXKJ7....
I'm kinda confused here...

If you're using Windows, just pull the system.img.ext4 out with winRAR, and use something like Ext2explore to open the system.img.ext4 file.
EDIT: Nevermind, doesn't seem to work on this file..

[SOLUTION] Successful flash of leaked NA6 ROM on Hong Kong 32g N9005

The problem was that Hong Kong Note 3 has a different partition structure for some reason and thus when trying to write the system partition, we got the infamous 'invalid ext4 image' error. I tried extracting the pit from the CSC file and partition with it, but it didn't work. Even tried it with heimdall. Still didn't work. But after a lot of reading, experimenting, and praying, I tried this.
1. Download leaked ROM from here: Terafile; Google Docs; Torrent; Storage Cow
2. Extract the 4 files.
3. Fire up Odin 3.09 and put the phone in download mode.
4. Load ONLY CSC file in Odin. (It contains the pit we need)
5. Make sure Re-partition is unchecked.
6. Flash it.
7. Reboot to Download mode.
8. Flash all 4 files normally.
9. Reboot to Kitkat.
10. Enjoy.
This worked for me. Thanks!

This will only work on 32 gb or 64 gb devices. The 16 gb n9005 needs a different pit file which is not provided for any ROM other than the Hong Kong roms. For some reason, Samsung decided that Hong Kong phones should have a different partition table than the rest of the world.
Yeah I have the 32gb model.

There is no 16gb version. You will have to either wait for the official Hong Kong ROM or else go for a custom ROM.

You can try flashing the exynos Kitkat which was released yesterday.
But I haven't played around with the N900. I don't know if it will have the same 'invalid ext4 image' error when flashing a non Hong Kong ROM on a HK device. Yours is HK, I think.

You bought your phone through an authorized dealer?
I am just asking cause as far as I remember, the phones starting from 'Z' are from Hong Kong.
If you bought it through an authorized dealer, it should be a normal Indian Note 3, in which case you can flash the kitkat ROM.
And yes, SM-N900 and N9000 are the same.

Don't worry about it. This community is built to help.
Can you tell me where you bought your phone from?
To put it in download mode-
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold Volume Down+Home+Power.
3. Keep holding till you see a warning.
4. Press Volume Up.
But make sure you flash the correct ROM to your phone. A wrong ROM will brick your phone.
Note 3 is not a very noob friendly device to flash.

It says your android version is 4.4, which is kitkat. But no such version was released by Samsung. Especially as early as September.
A search of 'ZCUBMI5' on google brings up many Chinese links with reference to N9006 (which as far as memory serves is a Note 3 clone).
I would suggest that you stay put and not tinker with your device.

Help request to ROM cooking masters to let N910C allow to work with GearVR 2015

I have made the modification to allow Note 4 to be used with GearVR edition 2015. (as officially it supports only S6, S6+ S6 Edge and Note5)
For all those interested in this operation - please read
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64424147&postcount=55
I fully confirm that my "mechanical adaptation" allows to use Note 4 , SM-N910F, stock rom 5.1.1 N910FXXU1COJ3 with Gear VR edition 2015, Touchpad and accelerometer works OK.
HOWEVER - I own N910C version, currently running not-i ROM V14. I have posted on this thread the request for help, but there is no feedback so far for a few days.
So I have kind request to other cooking masters to have a look and suggest which files must be added to enable accelerometer and touchpad on GearVR to run on the Note4 custom roms for 910C
I am willing to make the test, possibly without re-installing the whole Rom.
Thank You in advance!

Yes, it works on the mentioned 910F with stock rom 5.1.1 but this is my friend phone ... I own 910C with not-i V14 - and I would like to stay on not-i V14 or V17.1 or wanam rom. The gear vr works for both me and slink we both tested before we released. Also we have other users reporting it works. Unfortunately you seem to be the only person who can't get the vr working on dn5. If you can share what steps you have taken and upload some logs me and slink will help you
The reason it reboots is a lib issue. If you do a clean install of dn5 then change buildprop model to SM-N910C and reboot before you connect the vr it will work

Already tried that to no avail. Everything installs fine, but after installation the device just reboots when put inside the gear vr. Going to try to get a wireless log on my next install (have to reinstall everything every time I try it). EDIT: I am however getting intermittent "Installation failed"-reports when trying to install the oculus apps. Maybe I should format my internal sd and try again.

All I can tell you is that was happening to me until we found out the n5 oculus apps were different to the n4 ones. Installing the apps with n5 buildprop installed the wrong apps and caused instant bootloop as soon as you connect vr. I'm wondering if you have some left over n5 oculus apps which is why I suggested a full wipe. We only added vr support when we updated the framework to aoj5 as Sammy had added vr support in that framework

Reinstalled everything from scratch, and still having no luck (formatted everything). Even tried setting the model in build.prop to SM-N910F before installing the rom (inside zip-package). Really at a loss here. Getting some weird uid changed error in the logcat when trying to install the oculus apps (only getting install errors). Btw should there be Gear VR files inside the rom before flashing the GearVR package? Also tried removing these, but it only caused the Gear VR to stop working completely.

I tried my best via adb over wifi to capture when I inserted the device into the gear vr - hopefully it'll be of some use to you.
BTW this time it didn't crash completely but the device got stuck in low-persistance mode and I managed to disable the oculus apks and reboot using adb.
EDIT: Definitely using the note 5 files as the image that shows up when first putting the phone into the gear vr is of the new consumer gear vr, and not of the innovator edition. Not sure what is going on, but I'll try editing the files before flashing (using the files backup up from my note 4 running COJ5).

Any roots for galaxy s7 Sm-G930U?

The "special edition" of the galaxy s7 US unlocked just came out a few days ago. I'm wondering if anybody knows a way to root this variant yet. Will the G930F root work for this version?
It will probably be the same story as the current carrier locked models. I am just waiting for the unlocked firmware to come out so I can try flashing my carrier variant S7.

I was trying to help evobyte with Smart Switch but our end verdict was Smart Switch doesn't have compatibility with G930U yet. Makes sense because when I contact Samsung regarding the G930U they said that model didn't exist and not a US model. Told them how it was just release and after being put on hold they apologized. So yea...
Damn we need to find a way to get that firmware it's bloat free. I was gonna test on t-mobile s7.
Hey man, root is availible. The 930a/935a root will work. Also, once rooted, you should TOTALLY download flashfire and make a COMPLETE backup and upload it do gdrive and pm it to me or post the link if you're OK with the drive traffic.

may you report back to see if it works
When you experience performance issues and battery drain after root, use kernel auditor AND kernel toolkit.
Use toolkit to set the correct cpu frequencies for both sets of cpus, and governor, then use auditor to turn off all thermal options. I'm currently working on a root with the bugs fixed. But for now, just do that and make sure no apps are disabled and make sure "require pin on reboot" is not on

Asus Pegasus 5000 / Asus X005

Hi folks,
I just got this device because of the massive battery (a whooping 4850 mAh) and relatively efficient GPU. I like it so far, and have used Kingo Root on it. But I can't find any custom ROM's to flash, and the device is not listed anywhere (GSMArena, CyanogenMod, xda). Does anybody have more information about it? It would be greatly appreciated.
Ditto
I have the same issue...
I have found the stock ROM (CMCC & CTCC versions V12.0.0.15 & V12.0.0.10 respectively) but am almost certain that installing these will leave me without Google Play.
My eBay app has already given up on me after 3 days (it now says "Unfortunately eBay has stopped") and a custom ROM is just the ticket.
If it is any help, this phone is also known as: T551TLC.
Any help out there?
If sources are available or custom ROM, why not compile it yourself?

I haven't got expertise to do that unfortunately, but I would like to learn how to do that. The seller had already pre-flashed gapps so I have no issue with that but:
1) There is no update option for Android on the ASUS stock rom (stuck on 5.1).
2) Flashing Cyanogenmod modifies the device in such way that it does not send tethering device information to the phone carrier. With Cyanogenmod 13 on my former Samsung I9505 I'm able to share unlimited data to other devices.
3) ASUS bloatware is unbearable. E.g. I get automatically made "slideshows" done without my permission, by an ASUS program that is impossible to uninstall.
4) The camera lags very badly.
There are other minor issues, bugs, etc that aren't fixed.

Right, I'm back- I have been researching and acting on my research thoroughly, but sadly have not yet solved my situation. Will update soon.
Question: The Cyanogenmod Flash- is this possible with the X005? I have not yet found a way...!

More info: I see that there is an "Etotalk Mod ROM" that when you buy this phone from them they pre-install. They say it then has full functionality... might contact them for more info!

OK- So I am hours away from having the ROM we are looking for. What is the copyright protection like on this software? Can I share legally? Should I? (I think I know how you will answer that last one!)

It is open source, that means, it is free to the community at the android and cyanogenmod licenses. In conclusion, yes, you may share it legally.

Yes, I have it. Does anyone know what to do with it? I attach a screenshot of the contents of the .rar file, and a list of the files in the rar is as follows. No idea where I go from here. I have only ever installed ROMS via the SD card and that doesn't seem to work here....!!

Have you tried installing on the TWRP or CM recovery, from the SD Card? If that doesn't work, maybe you can try using Odin on Windows, using a USB cable.
Also, how different is this rom from the stocks that you've found? Do you know? Let me know after you test it, and if it's good maybe you could upload it and post the link.

Use fastboot command, just like RAZERZDAHACKER posted. there are tutorials online.
OK everyone- here is the link, I think. I have returned mine and got what appears to be a vastly superior Xiaomi Redmi 3s for $105. I love it. And can do all the mods I like without all this faff. However, this might be of use to everyone else!
