follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
after that pick a rom and you will have root
First read, search, look up. Try searching "nvflash recovery"
If you are updated with gingerbread, and just want root.. Flash the clockworkmod with nvflash like they suggested, really easy steps for it.. Then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255214
[ROOT] G2X Gingerbread 2.3.3. stock ROM with flashable zip in Clockworkmod Recovery
And download the root and unroot zip files, the unroot just incase and then flash the recovery, flash the root zip. And you have yourself official gingerbread update with root. And not those buggy roms that are updated everytime

[Q] How to install CWM?

i have a samsung galaxy s 4g (SGH-T959V) and its running 2.3.6 or K6J or whatever you call it. but i have rooted it with superoneclick 2.3.1 and now i'm lost on how to get clockwork recovery so i can flash roms and an overclocked kernal....well thanks for time
Are you familiar with Odin? If not Google it then use Odin to flash a modded kernel. You will then have cwm. Be sure to use a gingerbread kernel. They are in the dev section.
Yup. Make any backups you need first, then Odin flash one of these here:

EDIT: You can also follow the instructions here for a clear fail, proof method:

Yes you have to flash CWM through ODIN again. The same way you did under Gingerbread.
Search the forums for how to root ics leak

[Q] Alternate way to permanently flash clockwork recovery on g2x?

So I rooted my 2.3.3 g2x through v.2.3.3 superoneclick and was wondering if there's an alternate way to permanently flash clockwork recovery instead of all the APX and NVFlash processing.
So I downloaded ROM Manager from play store and flashed the clockwork recovery (ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0) (specifically for my g2x) and it successfully installed. NOW, what would I do from here if I wanted to permanently install clockwork recovery? (Without the APX NVFlash process) If its even possible? Thanks in advance!

The only way is with NVFlash. It won't flash permanently with ROM Manager.

Plus flashing clockwork mod thru ROM manager is not recommend Ed for this device. If things go south, you can't unbrick your phone.

this can be "unbricked" very easily, soft bricking the phone from rom manager is the simplest way to do so, all you have to do is flash CWM the proper way and flash a rom and you are "unbricked".
There is no other was as one of the fellow members already stated. It's easy if you read the directions.. The hardest thing with this getting your computer to recognize the phone. Make sure you have right lg drivers installed

Great Advice = I PM the same advice .
Can only flash a custom kernel over the stock Gingerbread to get CWM, No need to flash the whole ROM.
