Reverse usb tethering(sharing internet connection on ur pc to i9003) beta 3 - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I found this helpful information to share with you
This guide will only work if you have rooted your device and with a Windows PC. We will not be liable for any damages arising from your use of this guide. Use the presented information at your own risk.
Remember that the tool is still beta software, so expect a lot of kinks and bugs. You can surf using Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Dolphin Browser,GOOGLE PLAY MARKET although Google Chrome complains of not having an Internet connection even though it works. Ping and low-level ICMP packets don’t seem to work either.
Requirements
A rooted Android phone
Desktop or laptop computer running Windows
Working broadband Internet connection on the desktop or laptop
Android Software Development Kit (SDK) installed on the desktop or laptop (optional but recommended)
Instructions
1) Download the reverse tethering tools from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=829285&d=1324833033 and save the file to your computer. The ZIP file contains AndroidTool.exe (Android USB Tunnel tool for your Windows machine), ADB, and the Android APK (Beta Android USB Tunnel tool for your Android phone).
2) Extract the ZIP file to a folder on your computer.
Enable USB debugging on your phone by going to Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.
3) Go to the folder where you extracted the ZIP file’s contents.
Run AndroidTool.exe.
Connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable.
In the Android USB Tunnel window, click on the Refresh Devices button.
From the list on the right of the detected devices, select a Domain Name Server (DNS) to use.
4) Click the Show Android Interface button. This will install the app and other needed binaries to your phone.
If the Superuser app on your phone asks whether to allow “USB Tunnel,” choose to allow the app. If the process crashes after receiving Superuser rights, close the Android USB Tunnel Windows application and repeat the procedure from the start.
5) Click on the Connect button on the Android USB Tunnel window on your computer.
6) Again, if the Superuser app on your phone asks, choose to allow “USB Tunnel.”
Congratulations! You have successfully reverse-tethered your Android phone to your PC.

Damn man this is cool.

Yeah ... it's cool ... but why I can't download files? I fail download file apk from market and other site. Bug?

[Tool][Windows Only][Root] Android Reverse Tethering

CREDITS TO capslock66
ORIGINAL THREAD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371345
Android Reverse Tethering for windows users.
Tethering is the ability to surf on your pc using the 3g of your phone
Reverse tethering is the opposite : surf on your phone using the ADSL of your PC.
This work only for rooted users !!!
For non rooted users, you can try my other solution, but require more manipulations and is limited to surf : http://www.codeproject.com/KB/androi...orwarding.aspx
Installation :
Unpack the zip file. This zip files contains the windows part, ADB and the android APK.
Before starting the tool :
Ensure you have debugging enabled on your phone :
Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging > Turn On
Ensure you have root access AND SuperUser application installed.
Change the superuser settings (Menu -> Preferences -> Notifications part) :
Uncheck "Notifications" label to display "Do not show notification when an app is granted Su Permissions"
AndroidTool
The AndroidTool.exe is the windows part
he low level communication tool (ADB) is included in the zip file.
AndroidTool will try to find ADB in c:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools\adb.exe
If not found he will use the provided one.
The first time you use the program :
If you want to use another version of ADB, clik "config" and in the first tab enter the path to the ADB
Select the DNS server to use in the right list. On complex system, some dns can be detected.
Start reverse tethering
Just click “Connect”.
If it's the first time you use the program, This will install the latest android package and the dependencies (busybox and redsocks).
The SuperUser process may ask you to allow “Usb tunnel”
If the android process crash after receiving superuser rights, close the windows program and start again.
The android interface (first tab) will show connections forwarded to windows.
Others tabs are just for debugging (give information about system route tables and connections). Not yet finished.
Start your browser
Google chrome will complain that no connection is available. Don’t care. That work.
Firefox , opera and dolphin don’t have problem with that !!!
The current version of the application can’t forward low level ICMP packet (PING).
From Android Os point of vue, there is no internet connection.
Market :
The search market work, but due to the same connection problem, it’s not possible to download. I hope Google will fix the market.
Other apps :
The system detect automatically ports like http (80), https (443) , Market (5228) . UDP ports like DNS also work.
You don't need to add static ports in the windows program (config / ports).
Tested under :
Tested under more than 20 android model. Thanks for your feedback
I will update the tool every week.
Version 2.25 :
less traces
added upload / download / connections
some bug fixes
HIT THANKS BUTTON IF I HELPED U

Agreed. You link to the original dev work so he can monitor progress of how many downloads.
There is a new app called ReverseTether that allows you to do just that and it doesn't require any additional windows software or tech savviness, and it's very straight forward and simple to use.
Check this out:

there its written my wifi card is abandoned.
I cant afford to buy a router or new wifi modem, plz help with this.
You have the answer in your OP itself. Check this out:
nectify can work in Ad-Hoc mode with just about any Wi-Fi device on Windows 7, Vista, or XP.
However, to run in Access Point mode, you must be running Windows 7, and you must have a Windows 7 certified network device driver for your Wi-Fi device. You have this device driver if you own any Windows 7 logo certified Wi-Fi device (laptop, dongle, card, etc.). However, many older devices have also been updated with Windows 7 certified drivers.

And this:
The following are known "abandoned" devices, believed to lack certified Windows 7 drivers from their manufacturers. They could of course be updated at any time.

Wait until & if Intel releases a Win 7 compatible driver for your card.
Check if they have already released an update for your card which you may not have installed.
Hope this helps.

Even the old version say that, but it allow me to create the hotspot.
I have updated the drive @cooleagle
Now i am using this setting AD-HOC WEP.
not open
But thanks for trying to help me
Instead of replacing your wpa_Supplciant file manually, you can use wifi adhoc enabler app which will take a backup of your wpa_supplicant file and modify it so that our mobile will detect adhoc-wifi.
Im using Dell laptop, Windows Vista and adhoc wifi enabled using connectify and sharing that with my SGR

WiFi Ad Hoc Enabler
It will work only in rooted devices. Because Andorid cannot detech Adhoc WiFi in general. Only a rooted device with the wpa_supplicant file change can do that. Since its a system file, rooting is must

Sent from my N986 using xda premium
yes, its clear from its description. but how can i do that?
i have windows 8.1 so how to use this option , can you tell me procedure?
i have installed universal ADB android drivers using PDAnet.
when i connect my phone with pc using this option (USB Debugging on) it shows a new network connection named "Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device".
i have some question regarding the procedure.
1) Installed drivers are ok or not?
2) Is PC studio required for this process?
3) How to share my dialup connection.
4) what should be firewall status for this method?
5) will i need to configure mobile network or browser for this?
Hope for some positive response..
I have just gotten an ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 which has the same option under settings. I am using Windows 7, but also unable to figure out how to share my internet connection via USB cable. Any help would be welcomed.

I HAVE XOLO A600 AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY FOR ME
I HAVE FOLLOWED FOLLOWING STEPS
1. Settings->Wireless & Networks->More..
2. Usb internet.
3. select PC system version.
4.tab on NEXT.
5. tab on DONE.
6. Now in pc open "NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER.
7. right click on connection you want to share. for example "ethernet" on my computer.
8. click PROPERTIES.
9. click on SHARING tab.
10. click on "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection".
11. now choose newly added network which represents USB internet in "HOME NETWORKING CONNECTION" and click ok.
12. now you should be able to access internet on your android device.
IF NOT THEN YOUR FIREWALL SHOULD BE BLOCKING THE NETWORK SHARING.
TRY TO ALLOW NETWORK SHARING IN FIREWALL OR JUST TURN OFF YOUR FIREWALL.

Connect your Android device with a USB-Cable to your PC
In the Wireless & networks section (you might need to click on "More..." on some android devices), Try to activate the USB Internet. Now choose the os .(doesn't really matter)
Now there should be check mark on USB internet.(if you're doing this for the first time. You may be prompted and that's ok)
Now on the Windows network connection tab on PC right click the the network you want to share->properties>sharing tab and check mark for allow other users to connect.

Native Built In USB Tethering ( dose not use the system tethering )

Hey everyone, This is my first post in XDA, I been just a viewer for some time, so don't judge me.
There is a method to Tethering your internet throw USB without using the system tethering which I will explaine about it and give you FREE app that I'm still developing.
Note: PDA Net/Foxi etc and ALL the apps in the market are using the built in Tethering, So for the most, If the system tethering dose not work your screwed.
its in windows only, for now...
So let get right to it, I believe this method will work in all devices( still in testing... ):
0# Download The files here ( APK, OPENVPN, BIUSBT client ) :
Code:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6o7b6S7QCWSZG1rWHBEUmx3MzQ/view?usp=drivesdk
1# Go to settings and enable Developer options and USB DEBUGGING( HAS to be ON ).
2# Install the APK app in the phone, open the app and enable "Service active".
3# Now, somehow, get the rest of the files into your windows PC.
4# install OpenVPN( included in the download files ) and make sure your install the driver when it asks you.
5# Read step 6#than comeback, Now open the "BIUSBT.exe" and keep an eye on your phone
6# Your phone will ask you to allow the client to use USB debugging, Make USRE you click "Always allow this computer".
7# enjoy, the PC client would show connected.
If someone interested for the source code or want to help, let me know.
note: this is still in development if there is anything wrong let me know, also if it worked let me know you phone model or android version plz. also, for now, you can't upload large file. credits to azilink.:good:
