New splashscreen for Blackstone, Rhodium or Leo. (Noanimation splash) Save it, rename it ("welcomehead.png" or "welcomehead.192.png") and just put it on windows folder. To do it, use Total Commander and overwrite existing file. Backup the original, if you want change it back after time. (for animation splash) Save it, rename it ("LEO_animated.gif" or "animation.gif" (sorry, i am not sure what is name of animated splash screen on Blackstone or Rhodium)) and just put it on windows folder. If you really cannot decide, which screen to use, try this app: Splash screen randomiser (only for no animation splashscreens)

Excuse probably a daft question, but how do i replace this file? I can't seem to delete or rename, and I can't see the windows folder when usb'd to my laptop?

You need to use something like Total commander. Install this on you phone and it gives you unrestricted access to the windows folder so you can replace files.
Also as for renaming to either Welcomehead or welcomehead.192 both files are actually in the windows folder so i overwrite both to be sure.

A lot of people have removed the due to not knowing what it did, and concern over the "big brother" possibility. Here is EXACTLY what the app is for, and how we in the dev community can utilize it. I have included the file for you to reinstall as needed. Installing it into /system/app will autoload it for you.
It's purpose is to provide logging of various aspects of the device when you're having issues, and help you identify exactly where those issues are occurring. This includes:
dumpstate (bug report)
dumpsys
Device logs
Radio logs
Events log
Kernel log
To use it:
Dial *#*#HTCLOG#*#* (*#*#482564#*#*)
You're presented with 3 options (Collect Log Files, Snapshot Report, System Loggers)

- Collect Log Files gives you options to move the log files to the SD card
- Snapshot Report let's you run "dumpstate" and "dumpsys"
- System Loggers gives you some options
- Device Logger
- Radio Logger
- Events Logger

Enable the logs you want, then enable "Auto Start Logging"
- you need to do this in order to have the logs start

Hit the "Back" key twice to return to the home screen
Reboot and then wait for the issue to reproduce
When the issue does occur make note of what time the issue occured
Copy the logs off of your SD card and and find the time the issue occured and begin to analyze what was happening
When you're done, don't forget to go back into the HTC Logging and disable logging
Reboot to clear the HTC Logging auto start

I installed and pushed the dialer code on cm7 rc0 and it ran. I wonder if this would help the devs with accessing the radio thru a dialer code and app in AOSP, like htc uses? Its the app itself that responds to dialer codes.

It will definitely provide anyone - especially devs - with information necessary to track down the source of a problem. Glad to know it works on CM7.

Well I tried it on a HTC MyTouch 3G 1.2(Magic) running Cyanogenmod 6.1(2.2.1) and could not get it to work. When I entered the last star in the sequence, the screen went black and then back to the dialer. Any ideals?
Ok it just automatically rebooted, removing apk.

Yeah this is in EVO 4G for a reason. On new versions of HTC phones they will probably have this - but right now it's only the EVO that does.

Hey guys,
I am proud to present you four apps you may legally crack (Well kind of, the Market policy actually doesn't allow you to disassemble downloaded apps, but who cares).
Each of these apps has a simple Activity asking you for a username and a serial.
Your goal is to find a working username/serial combination ^^
It starts really easy in Kids Mode and gets harder with every app. I recommend starting with Kids Mode or Easy.

If you don't know what adb, logcat or root means, don't download it!

Below is the APK for the hard version, so you don't have to buy it from the market
Some hacking advise:
- There is not the solution to get the serial, if you are stuck, try another way to get it
- You don't have to understand all of the code (especially if you're trying the hard version), the only part you must understand is the code where the entered serial is checked with the generated serial.
- An easy way to find this part is by looking for strings (=text). For example, if it is not the right serial, try searching for "wrong", as it is shown in the toast.
- You could even crack the app. With cracking I don't mean making the app accept every serial (which would be easy), but e.g. display the correct serial instead of the message "Wrong serial".
- And last but not least, don't let the code confuse you or give up! The hard app may look *very* complex, but at it's core it is not about how the serial is generated, but how it is checked.

Now the question is, do you have to make a serial gen base of this or can you just patch the routine and bypass serial + username combo all together basically looks like a simple if then true !false statement. Mind you I haven't even started on this but just wondering if that's the case then fairly simple like 90% of the other android apps out there. Even apps that use server side authentication are very easy to crack on android.

There is a mass amount of information in the Android apps section. We certainly don't need multiple threads for the same app, by the same person.
I thought you were going to be removing the phone number requirement. Did you start this new thread to hide the phone number requirement complaints from the other thread?
Now I'm wondering if your app is shady, and simply farming phone numbers.
Please explain, because I am about to go on a crusade AGAINST this app.

If you want just type any number in the box doesnt make a difference to me, it can be all 1's if it makes you feel better.

Why start a new thread, and not just edit the old one? You could have made the old thread say whatever you wanted with whatever link you wanted, just by editing the post. You don't need to start an entirely new one. I have threads I started months ago where I still edit the first post with new and updated information.
Anyway, thanks for the clarification. I will be keeping my eye out for the removal of the phone number requirement.

someone sent a dcma complaint saying i was stealing intellectual property and violating copyright infringement. they did it out of spite or to remove me as competition from the market. everything in the app was designed by my graphic designer from scratch. and google didnt even care to warn me they just removed us.

BlueStacks Beta - editing the "boot" animation

Hi everyone,
I decided to create a quick guide and place to share your custom BlueStacks boot animations.
Quick Guide:
The boot or loading screen is made up of two different files. One is a static PNG image the other is a GIF animation. Both files are found in C:/ > Program Files (x86) > BlueStacks and can be replaced.
Step one: Quit BlueStacks and use task manager to ensure there are no BlueStacks processes running.
Step two: Go to the directory above and copy and paste the files "ProductLogo" and "loading" to a convenient location to back them up.
Step three: Search the internet for fun new replacement files and edit as needed (or create your own).
Step four: Rename the files to reflect the original file's name and place them in the BlueStacks folder.
*restart BlueStacks and enjoy*

We have a new home button image.
Go to C:>Program Files (x86)>BlueStacks and use the same process as above. The image will be called "HomeButton".

It was created with some editing and splicing of other users boot animations.

Its alright, but to busy, I went for an easy look, that won't waste resources running, and it wouldnt look right in that small area since its a full screen (phone) animation
Also there is glitch mostly cause you didnt remove the files after the android explodes

I created it for my wife's phone specifically. There is actually supposed to be flashing between the android exploding and the particle ring effect but it does look odd.
I'm working on a new one now

New one's up if anyone cares to have a look
Edit: I resized the image to fit in BlueStacks, removed the "Droid" logo, and made the end loop longer so it plays until BlueStacks boots
