The new Google music app. Is the eq feature on It different for each phone? I have a sgs II and it does not have it. When my friend's Droid bionic has it.

And one of the best as well. It was in one of the original ipods. I think the 4th Gen, and it is an amazing DAC. Google it. Lots of love for it.
With voodoo control, the sound is stunning from this phone with good headphones.
I can vouch for this on my epic. Even the stock earbuds sound great. I'm using a pair of high end Sony buds and the sound is amazing. Also, the recorder is top notch too. With hi-q mp3 recorder and the recording setting set to loud environment, I went to a live show and the sound from the video was pretty decent l. I was right next to the guant speakers.

I guess you are still talking about the Wolfson DAC present on the sgs1 and the previous samsung nexus...
But what about the sound quality on this Nexus??
Seems to be, it doesnt have neither the Wolfson nor the Yamaha DAC...
Anyone?

I wasn't going to point that out, but I did notice that when I caught up on the progress of that conversation that you had already been there...
I got a chance to play with the galaxy player 4 and the 5 and i say they are pretty nice devices. They perfect for apps like skype calling. I was going to cave in and get an ipod touch but this changed my mind. With the phone like functions I will probably get one of each. I like the 5 as an mp3/media player and i would use the 4 as my skype phone. I think skype should endorse these 2 devices. I think Samsung has got the ball rolling here for sure.
Yeah i've tried both of them and they seem as a good alternative to the Pod touch but i'd need to see the dev community before i'd buy one
is there any forum for the Samsung galaxy player 4.0?

Rezound.

I would suggest SGSII or Galaxy Note those were the best and the most powerful by far not mentioning amazing custom ROM support.
I'd go Galaxy Nexus... the Note is retardedly big. Unless you are cool rocking an BT headset 90% and texting using Vlingo, it look hilarious for voice calls
I'm on Verizon I thought the note was like an iPod I didn't think it had phone service.......resound doesn't have hdmi out that is a must have

I would go for the Nexus or wait for the Galaxy SIII (hopefully the wait is not too long.)

Does anyone know if there is an iPod type android device that is running JB? I would need a SD slot and a decent rear camera.

There is the galaxy player. Its not on jb and hasnt been popular because I think that mist people who want an android mp3 player just use their phone. There is also the motoactiv for something smaller. I know its rooted and old buddy of mine worked with a dev here and they did it. Again I don't think its jb.
U believe your best jb solution is a phone.

You could just use a phone without a sim card installed? Or when it's a CDMA phone just don't activate it. Lots of people did that with the CDMA One V. I think that would be your best option, a phone that isn't activated or doesn't have a SIM card installed.

Phones are pretty pricey especially those that are on jb. And there doesn't seem to be a decent used market for jb updated phones yet. I can use my nexus 7 but it's kind of big and no sd or camera. So until someone sees a market for it I'm out of luck.
Edit. Here's something. Does anyone have any experience with these Chinese knock offs?

BTW there are rumors and prototype pics out there of a new galaxy watch but the iPod has so completely taken over the mp3 player space they killed the zone which Microsoft threw money at like crazy. I don't know that there is or will be an android offering of any note too soon

As a "don't buy" advice, avoid the ZTE Grand X phone: it sucks at music. I bought one and gave it to my brother because the bad quality of output sound.

I really liked my HTC rezound combined with Poweramp. I rooted my rezound and installed CyanogenMod 10.2 rom with Aroma Beats and Poweramp and it was fantastic. The only downside with CyanogenMod Rom was the battery life. But it depends on what you mean by loud things. I usually listen to music with headphones so that was what was great about that phone. The speaker on the Rezound was loud but not as clear as my HTC ONE that I have right now.
