[Q] Samsung Omnia W sms error - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I am using my omnia w with data connection on in 3G mode I am unable to send sms. If I switch data connection off, I can send sms. The problem persists with all service providers. What should I do?

SMS with 3G data on
An update named "Samsung update for Windows Phone" was rolled out yesterday which fixes the problem of sending a text message with 3G connection. Connect your phone to your PC and update via Zune. The problem should be solved.

Note that OEM updates will increase the Firmware version (I'm seeing reports of people on KK7 firmware). Firmware updates have a distinct tendency to break various hacks. For example, Windowbreak and other provxml hacks only work on Samsung phones with firmware prior to KK2.

I have the same problem in Sweden.
No update availabe on Zune.
Talked to Samsung, and they have no ETA on the next update...
*Sigh* I really like the phone, but since I send a lot of SMS and use a lot of data connectivity it's just about useless for me in this state...

Samsung asked to send Omnia W to customer service in Italy!!!

Didn't get my update
Hey guys, I got here trying to solve the same problem on my phone.
The only thing is that I'm in Costa Rica, and that update isn't available here yet.
I actually installed two updates today, but the current version of the firmware is this:

Do any of you know if there's a way to get this update manually into the phone? Or if there's someone I can contact to get it?

Check the CAB thread on the dev&hacking sub-forum. You can manually push updates to your phone.
That said, K4 can be interop-unlocked, but later firmware versions cannot (currently). You may want to use WindowBreak (if you haven't already) before you update the phone.

Can't belive Samsung is still having this issues, Omnia 7 faced the same problems. I like the designs and screens on Samsung phones, but the fact remain the same, they just can't do anything software related, EVEN if MSFT just made the OS for them. The Galaxy SII release in Sweden suffered the same fate, but being a popular phone it took only 2 weeks or something to get a fix out....Omnia 7 still waits, thou it is selective to carriers so at least gives a fighting chans for Omnia 7. And yes, your phone may seem to work the first 2 months or so, but eventually the Omnia 7 went down if you had the wrong carrier.
I hope this is only a selected few being struck by this, because Samsung shows WP so far, next to nothing in attention.

Spoke to Microsoft and according to them this problem will be solved in the "Tango" update that the just started to rollout from 27/6-12 (in Sweden anyway)

Selecting Proper ROM on HTC HD 7

I have the HD7 for two months. I tried to unlock but found that already in 7392.
I realized that I had to reflash.
I work too much. And my utter error 262 which means that trying to pass the wrong ROM.
And because I was not sure about the origin of the unit spoke with the company I bought it and told me that it is European. I did anakataxi numbers according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=924333 and I get = 16901.401 = 1.69.401.01 1.09.401.01 ie 2.1 BR: RUU_Spark_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.08_Radio_5. 51.09.06_ 22.23.50.09U_by_ansar. Again stubbornly refused to be correct. I tried to pass all 3. Vodafone_ELL operator, CV 168 with CIDs VODAP006, VODAP026, VODAPD18, VODAP033, VODAP405, VODAP031, VODAP032, VODAPP25: Did I say maybe, but in vain ... Dropped to 2-3 days but has stiffened so much that you will go through.
Where can I get wrong.

[Q] Developer unlocking problem

I have recently got a HTC HD7 in India. I can use it for any network, I hope you all call this as Unbranded mobile.
I got successfully developer unlocked it but after 3 days I upgraded it to NODO version. Before updating to that version it was relocked again and unknowingly I updated to NODO version.
So, I am not able to unlock it on that newer version. I restored to the version 7008 from zune and trying to unlock it. I am not able to unlock it with error "Sorry, could not connect to mobile" something like that. My mobile is connected to zune and it is not sleep mode.
My current mobile information is below:

Hi,
It is designed for the bootloader that you have!!
After flashing you can
- flash any signed 401 ROM you like or
- flash an RSPL/HSPL and then flash any custom ROM

problem with downgrade

got realy big problem,got a htc 7 mozart with original t-mobile branding,debranded with eu version,chevron didnt worked so i updated over zune till mango 40,tought actual windowbreak would fix my jailbreak problem,but **** happens, windowbreak isnt for htc yet,so i testet chevron again,no luck,now i recovered over zune back to start for testing chevron again,but no luck too,so i would flash again with some other firmwares, cause wlan connection has problems too with actual firm.The main Problem now:I cannot flash any other firm, think its the bootloader now,your flash doesnt work too, whats now,this device is killing me.My Omnia 7 didnt make such problems.

Okey anasar. Good news is flashing is completed.
Telephone reboot and i see SPL-1.28.2250.3.
In this moment i run DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH and Complited, but telephone dont rebootet and my SPL is still 1.28.2250.3 not RSPL. I try again but this same result.
What can i do it now?

i'm a really noob and i've no idea how to downgrade my htc hd7.
well, i know that you solved this problem, but i cannot downgrade my phone using your method.
what i do:
1.close zune and all other applications on pc
2.turn my phone off
3.go to the tricolor Bootloader screen
4.run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow instructions
the problem is, that when i start ROMUpdateUtility.exe , it just can't recognize my phone.
below the sign Image Version is nothing and below Select from below is nothing except the button Update

[Q] camera not working properly after windows phone update

Hi, I am using HTC HD7 which is locked to O2 UK. It was fully functional but after a recent update via the Zune software I have noticed that the camera preview has become distorted (like the negative preview of a film camera). I took a couple of pictures and copied them to my computer and the pictures are distorted too (see attached picture). same with the video. I've tried the hard reset but this didn't solve the problem. I don't think it's a hardware issue as the phone didn't suffer any physical damage. Is anyone out there has the solution to this problem or is there any way I can go back to the previous version (unfortunately I don't have any backup of the previous version)? If the question has already been asked and answered can you direct me to the thread? The current details are as below:

lumia 800 crashes randomly and after loading music

I have a nokia Lumia 800 on the Telecom NZ network, it randomly crashes, and resets itself, basically stuck on the Network Provider (TelecomNZ) logo after reboot. Also noticed after I add music / videos to my phone it crashes. This was happening before I upgraded to new Nokia and Windows Phone Firmware, and after the Nokia and Windows Phone Firmware update.
Current firmware:
OS Version: 7.10.8773.98
Firmware Revision Number: 1750.0805.8773.12220
Hardware Revision Number: 112.1402.2.4
Please Help...any ideas!?
