I saw a post over in the N1 and Droid forums for this ROM developed over in china.
It looks pretty awesome and I was just wondering if there was anyway or anyone working on porting this for us? Yes it looks a little iPhoney but it's still a nice looking ROM.
You can google MIUI to find the original website, but you'll need to translate it to be able to read all of it.
Sorry if someone already posted about this, did a search though and didn't see anything here. Thanks to anyone who helps or replies.
Just did a quick google, and come to find out it's zenulator's (Dunno who did it) rom and he's wanting everyone porting the rom to different androids to put source link and credit on their threads.
Here's the link to his code:
http://code.google.com/p/zen-droid/downloads/list
And here's the link to the post he put up about credit (and a badass vid of the ui!)
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/zenulator/84360-rom-zen-miui-v2-android-2-2-miui.html
And here's the official link *hint* use google chrome to view, so you can just hit translate to read it!!
http://www.miui.com/index.php
also.. read some of the forum. Damn those folks hatin' on us westerners/english folk (on translation anyways)
Dunno if that can be ported yet because 2.2 JUST became stable for our hero, however I can't say it's at all impossible because he has the source posted. I would be interested in seeing this myself.
Would be awesome if it could be ported. It looks nice and smooth. Something like that could perhaps convince me I don't need sense

If we had this a lot of people would be convinced they don't need sense. I've been using the wildfire port as my daily but this ROM has my mouth watering.
I would definately like to have this on my device!
Awesome ROM, hopefully we hear from Zen soon. *hint hint*
Me too I would like this on my device

i dont like it..maybe its just me. it looks way to much like the iphone to me. It would be a good to theme it tho..i could deal with that maybe a lil more.
Noob: Is this already out or am I way off?

Would be very difficult to port, as the hardware is so different for our phone

its not zenulators rom..
"I enjoyed porting MIUI to my droid and sharing it with everyone else."
he ported the rom not created it..
but what i can't understand is, the hero (well android in general) is so much more diverse in what can be done with it, why make it look like an iphone??? i feel like this is a step backwards in developing.. the iphone has done this already.. why do we want to adopt this now?

Personally, I love it. I love the way the iphone look also. I just don't like the functionality of the iphone. But the cartoonish look of it can be pleasing.

Just because the main framework of the rom is similar to iPhone looks, doesn't mean it can't be themed. We want it based on functionality and speed, not looks.

I'd trade my hero on cm6 for an iPhone any day. Much much faster than the hero. Now an evo...that's another story

Hmm, this is true. We could just get the port, and then theme it like Sense if we wanted... how badass would that be?
Miui is built for hdpi devices. You will have to build it from source and modify it for mdpi.
There is no reason this can't be done. Since its essentially a heavily modified aosp 2.2.
It runs great on my MOTO droid.
I just don't have the time to make it work on the hero.
Also its rumored cyanogen and crew is working on incorporating some of the features into cyanogenmod.

You are one lucky man to be running this.
I'd like to see Cyanogen use as much of Miui's features as he possibly can.

For anyone interested in tracking the MIUI porting process, DelsaDj and a bunch of devs are on it. It's slow work, though.
Am i the only one that would like to see a sense rom on our G2x? I think it would look pretty sick. I know we are early in the development stages, but do you guys think we will get one? If so what port or sense like rom would you LOVE to see on this device.
Sense was cool for a few days for me but i don't prefer it. Now i like the pure androidness But the g2x is pretty popular so i'm sure we'll have a sense rom.
There is a sense launcher

AFAIK Sense is built specifically for HTC hardware specs and there is no source code for it so porting it over would be extremely hard.
Just ordered the G2x , switching from blackberry
Hi,
I had enough of blackberry and enough of AT&T so im switching to Android . Soooo.. What is Sense rom and touchwiz?
Sense is the custom interface HTC puts on all their phones. Touchwiz is Samsungs UI. They do it to try and set their phones apart from one another in a market full of android phones. You dont have to use them though if you dont like them.

I'm pretty sure you can put the TouchWiz Launcher on any phone. I'm almost positive that I had installed it on my Nexus One but removed that crap within seconds.
I know for a fact I installed LG's launcher too.
Most of that stuff isn't anything but a bunch of fluff. While I prefer Stock, I do know that Sense is actually built into the rom more ways then one and you have to have the whole rom built around it.

Didn't they release a sense sdk and make it open source? Or did they just give devs tools/apis to develop for it?
i think

i think they jsut gave out an sdk to make apps that will only work on sense devices.
if you like sense try out go launcher. it has much of what sense does without the lag. the weather app and live wallpaper is as awesome as sense(maybe not as the new weather animations) dont know but they are pretty good.
kinda a mix betwen muiu/apple and sense. its a really good launcher and has all accompaning apps to go with it.
Not another freaking thread about sense rom's... (trolling moment)

I was looking at some touchwiz android phones and there are some feature i kinda like about it so i was wondering if anyone has ported some touchwiz rom and if not can someone try? I have tried but failed..but then again I have almost no developmental skill
Thanks in advance
No one has yet and I doubt anyone will the general consensus around here is sense>touch wiz. What features are youbtrying to get

I've been on touchwiz (captivate) and sense is light years ahead! But there is tw launchers and theme Chooser themes

Thanks for the rely but i am thinking about geting the lg thrill when it comes out so ijust wanted to see about what it will feel like(obviously without the 3d featured)but i will try the theme chooser theme, thanks!
Id wait, as there will more then likely be more 3d phones coming out, it doesn't make to much sense to buy a phone that is already outdated before it even comes out.
hey everyone, just signed up for xda so here this goes. i am getting a samsung infuse later today, and i was wondering if there is a theme to make it look like the htc inspire. if so could you name it and maybe post a screen shot? thank you
A Sense theme for the Infuse? Nope. You'd better dust off your themeing skills and jump on it!

Actually.... with miu and cm7 there are a few sense themes, even the sense 3.0 lockscreen (which i happen to have if you want it)
So theres like 1 theme thats represents sense? Ehh. I guess.its.not that important. What are some.cool ones then?

the operative term is theming
themeing would be the "overall" look, just looking at skins
The htc skins? Maybe htc dev?
Google android theming you will find tones

Well, u can decompile one of the skins that are available on the One X but the only problem is the really cool things to theme in Sense like the flip clock, lock ring, nav bar, etc... are all decoded in an m10 format which I don't believe anyone had ever even heard of until Sense 3.0 came out. So some brilliant developers on XDA built an m10 editor to decompile the m10's so you could see the images and theme them. But that tool has not been updated yet to work with Sense 4.0 so you are limited on what your able to theme. Hope that made sense.
Yea makes sense, too bad the images are compiled ad well, unlike the iphone

Well u don't have to decompile typically to edit just images but a lot of the cool things in Sense that I mentioned are compiled in the m10 format. Only device I've ever used that was like that has been HTC's with Sense 3.0 and up.
A good place to start is UOT Kitchen. While its not rocket science, there is a learning curve, and a fair amount of reading before you dive in. UOT Kitchen.com has complete guides to get you started. Good luck; hope it works out for you.
Just a heads up: I dont recommend flooding the forum with "how do I do this" or" I'm stuck please help" threads, as it tends to get the natives restless. If you get stuck, persevere, read, read some more, then read again. It's the best way to learn.
