[MOD][DEV][EL30] Multiple EL30 Mods, with source (Scrollable Status Toggles added) - Epic 4G Android Development

I've decided to post all of the EL30 mods I'm putting into github into this one thread (this was originally the EL30 hotspot hack thread).
SensiSimple has a separate git repo which has all of the files in one repo and the various mods posted as commits. I'm doing this separately from SensiSimple's, not because his way is wrong, or I'm trying to steal glory, but because it's my personal preference to have the mods all come from stock EI22. You might prefer SensiSimple's way, so have a look at this thread and repo.
These mods are for Deodexed EL30 ONLY.
If you are not running deodexed EL30, get it here.

This doesn't apply to MIUI. This is for TW ROMS only.

harwood0808, who couldn't post here, kindly messaged me and informed me that 4G was disconnected when the hotspot was activated. I had a feeling that would be the case.
Adding the 4G mod will take a bit of work. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

I've been running a stock odexed el30 that I rooted and debloated myself, but now that some mods are coming out I will switch over to the deodexed version so I may help test things like this.

Hi Toad. I can report that the 4G also goes down for me. As soon as I deactivate it the 4G comes back. I've tried turning off Bluetooth and GPS but no go. Only 3G tether works but it works at least Thanks and excited to see what you do with EL30. I like the new answer screen.

Fantastic news.
The .smali file that needs to be edited to make 4G work for the hotspot is unchanged in el30 from ei22. This means that the working smali file from the ei22 hotspot hack can be directly copied over into the el30.
I'll get it compiled and uploaded soon.

New version up
I've uploaded the new version with the 4G fix. It should work exactly like the old EI22 hotspot hack now.
Those with 4G service, please test and report back.

Awesome. I'm going to put the source in a github repo, for devs use.

Link to source has been posted in the OP to github for devs to use.
THREAD. DONE.

Works great for me. Thanks toad!
Actually, I just ran a speedtest and while my phone gets 8mb i only get under a 1mb on my touchpad which makes me think while 4G is lit it isn't actually connecting at that speed. I can run a speedtest on the work network and hit 25 easy.

Working nice

Working well for me today. I was able to stream video to my iPad without issue.
4G said it was working- didn't check the speed, but it was fast enough. There were also a few phones/iPods that were using it, some at the same time.

[ROM][AOSP][Renditions][2.3.4] Savaged-Zen(MOD) Updated Daily 5AM EST

Savaged-Zen ROM
RC3-Rendition
This is not a CM based ROM, as we have used some hardware librarys from them, and a hand full of features, litterally. We have created this rom from the AOSP google repo, and ported theme chooser directly from T-Mobile.
Thank you:
Anyone who has ever submitted code to AOSP development. Without you, projects like these would not be possible. (CyanogenMod, Evervolv, etc)
Our dedicated testers: aimbdd, noahguz, cheflarry
For helping us set up the repo and countless other reasons: preludedrew
If I forgot anyone for ANY reason, please kindly PM me and I will correct as needed! No need for flame wars.
Savaged-Zen ROM is an AOSP project based on Google's AOSP Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3). We have incorporated some popular tweaks from other AOSP ROMs, as well as added a bunch of our own.
The main focus on this, it to make a lightweight. FAST ROM that is specifically designed to work perfectly with our Kernel. Right now, we are tweaking the ROM and adding our own custom features that you won't find anywhere else.

GPS has always worked on our ROM, if your GPS is borked you just need to flash sense and clear your GPS then flash back, its a one time deal unless your a flashaholic... then you'll need to do it often...
i use our ROM daily and use GPS constantly.

neither.
Salvage is almost CM7, as they port most of all the features and then add in their own stuff (IMO) Not bashing them at all, there just allot closer to CM7 then most AOSP roms, we have maybe 5 features from CM we've ported, the rest is AOSP, or stuff we've built.
Nice, I'll give it a try thanks

Sorry if it's a dumb question but how do I add themes to the theme Chooser?

I applied some themes which I downloaded as APKs, but the notification power widgets disappeared!
UPDATE: OK, after a hot reboot, the widgets were back .. but now battery appears always full. Is this the theme's fault?
UPDATE 2: Aha ... 'battery compatibility' ... wow. You guys are amazing.

[ROM][ERA][EC05] Simply AOSP Version 4.01 Released 10/17/11

Simply AOSP 4.0
NOT SO STANDARD DISCLAIMER:
I, nor any of the ERA team is (are?) responsible for bricked phones, damaged SD cards, bad flashes, hurt feelings, crying, sleepless nights, restless leg syndrome, constipation, Cher, or any of the other various things you may encounter by installing custom firmware on your phone. Reboot into recovery, wipe everything 3 times, select ROM. Those are your instructions. Anything you do outside of that is on you.
Changelog:
Completely new base ROM used. Ecooce's as-of-yet unreleased Frankenstein v.4 was used as the base for this version. Ecooce provided a very stable, very small ROM that works perfectly with the Simply AOSP we've come to know and love.
All of the latest and greatest build.prop tweaks have come together to create a very fast and stable ROM with excellent battery life.
Volume Hack (Thanks mkasick)
Hotspot Hack (Thanks necrosan)
RFS/EXT4 Compatible (Thanks Officerpolabear)
Wifi scan interval set to 5 minutes to save battery
Simply Settings theme app included
Original Moto Droid 1 AOSP wallpaper (The one that started it all! Well, sort of...)
Genocide 2.0 Kernel (Thanks Rodderick)
Root/SU in ROM rather than kernel, feel free to flash!
Journaling On by default
No default memory-killing settings: compatible with v6 supercharger and other great scripts (by popular demand!)
Audio files and sound defaults from Cyanogenmod used for alarms, notifications, ringtones, and UI. Really can't get more AOSP than that!
I know everyone says this, but there really is a lot included that isn't listed here. There was a lot of moving and tweaking until just the right mix was found.
Huge thanks to TheDub, JohnCorleone, Ksmullins, Compkid, the ERA Team, and a whole slew of other people that helped with testing and answering questions. I couldn't have done it without you!
A COUPLE OF NOTES:
Updated Changelog
We tried to correct all of the issues that people had mentioned; all of the original UI notification sounds are back, tts service has been put back which should correct any navigation fc's, Revolted kernel is included. Also the same hotspot hack files are included in this that I used in the ERA EC05 ROM, so everything should be good to go there.
As always, let us know what you find! Download Link Below!
HUGE, HUGE thanks to pvtjoker42. He has been instrumental in getting this release out as apparently my internet service provider forgot the "provider" part and I've had no way to upload this. Also his persistence and reliability in testing this ROM have been invaluable. Find him and thank him.
This is EC05 based
The lockscreen mod is NOT built into this ROM. A tough decision to make considering it is one of my very favorite mods, but in the end it detracted from the AOSP feel of the ROM.
After to speaking with TheDub who was kind enough to let me update his ROM, he has suggested not including other themes with the Simply Settings app. While there are many great themes out there, I have chosen to respect his wishes.
You will find the standard Froyo, Touchwiz, and Gingerbread themes included.
This ROM is small; about 117 MB actually. That was one of my goals because if you're anything like me I download a LOT of ROMs directly to my phone. That being said, there aren't a lot of apps included in there. Please make sure you have good, recent backups of anything you may want.
With all of that being said, please download and enjoy! I will be checking this thread OFTEN so please come back and let me know what you think. We have done a lot of testing with this and haven't found any ROM-related problems (personal note, don't try and load 137 apps all at once. It slows things down. Yep, that was me...)
Please let me know if you have run into anything and I will try my best to help you.

This is based off of Froyo. I try and leave all of the leaks to ksmullins and I kinda fool with all of our EC05 Roms. Until GB drops, that is, and I'm out of a job!
The hotspot and volume hacks are included but the lockscreen isn't. In order to add it (and I haven't tested this theory) I would think it best to use an AIO Mod rather than just the lockscreen mod as they seem to modify some of the same files and I'm not sure if everything would be functional afterwards.
Also, JohnCorleone and a couple of others had tested with various EC05 themes and found no problems. I would venture to say that 'most' EC05 themes should work just fine.

[KERNEL][AOSP] CM7 with ext4, kexec, and more

Let me clear some things up. Rodderik took the stock gingerbread source and (I think) worked with mkasick to add the keyboard fix. This is not his test kernel. In fact, I wouldn't have put this up if I knew he had a test kernel for cm7.
That being said, this is what it has:
ClockworkMod Redirector (mkasick)
ext4 (built into kernel, I added a whole 2 lines)
Voodoo Sound (supercurio, implemented with help of Tortel)
Kexec Support (mkasick, implemented with help of Tortel)
Framerate cap increased (Rodderik, implemented with help of Tortel)
Keyboard lag fix (mkasick)
Now, with Voodoo, the screech is back. Deal with it. Or use the one without voodoo.
I just threw this together...this isn't much. Just to keep people happy until cm7 becomes official.
As you can see, most of the stuff is from other people. This is just a collections of their stuff together.

noticed same thing..however if u DO use the reboot to recovery feature in cm7, just hold down the 3 buttons once the phone shuts down. should reboot into recovery on the first or second try. no need for battery pull. and i know thats not how its supposed to work, but it does the trick.

[ROM][EI22]MostlyStock Rebuild | 11/17

Obviously, as with everything here, you SHOULD take caution before flashing this. However, if you DON'T, and something goes wrong, then it is in no way my or anyone else's fault.
I rebuilt this ROM.
What's changed:
-Updated the kernel to version v0.0.2. (nubecoder)
-Added the 3G/1x icon fix. (SenseiSimple)
-Added Hotspot hack. (Tortel1210/Necrosan)
-Added the Camera sound fix. (IcePlanet)
-Removed some Sprint/Samsung bloat (suggest more to remove if you want).
-Added CRT off.
-Added a 1% battery mod.
And of course, the old goodies:
-Deodexed
-noCIQ (k0nane)
-LogsProvider Fix (Tortel1210)
-GPS Fix (hienkhieu)
-Extended Power Menu (untermensch (I also borrowed the icons for the menu from him. Hope you don't mind!))

I don't know if this os a noob question or not...but can EH17 KERNELS be used with this build....the reason I ask is because in proir GB leaks there was some cross-compatability between builds that some themes could be used with...so im thinking would it work the same for kernels

I would say wait until the ODIN prerooted w/ CWM comes along. Then base with that and flash custom ROMs as they release and appear worthy.

I'm not entirely sure. This comes with nubernel, which was made for EH17, and I don't think any modifications were done to it to get it to work, so I suppose they can.

I was only locking 3 of 9 and after flashing this locked 9 of 9 in about 4 seconds

Thanks for confirming that. I also noticed the suckish GPS and was wondering about this.
Anyone think I should include the GPS Fix?

If it makes the rom/phone better.. it should be in there..
This is one of the times I wish I didn't have homework...

I'm not entirely sure. This comes with nubernel, which was made for EH17, and I don't think any modifications were done to it to get it to work, so I suppose they can.

I believe the nubernel is actually an EI22 kernel. It was created from the source that we saw in October that was later taken down, which is identical to the new EI22 source that is currently up. So technically we were running EH17 leak with EI22 kernel before. I may be wrong but this is how I understand it.

Oh. That's very true. Thanks for that correction.
Ive added this post to my How to root after getting the OTA or Google Install post over on the general forums. Thanks for putting this up. If you flash it over the stock install it works and runs perfectly as well as makes CWM permanent.

Thank you for adding it there. And you're quite welcome.
Source earlier and source now are identical, so the only way it wouldn't work is if the devs had to add something to make it work with EH17, than in turn only works with EH17.
I don't think that's the case, and I'm running nubernel problem free thus far.

Not sure this kind of thing as even been done to EI22 without being baked into a ROM yet... Unless you've added it to AIO, already. I plan to do another HOW TO on this if someone else doesn't. =)

It's part of my separately-posted theme, but aside from that, it doesn't exist as an EI22 mod. I'm just showing EH17 a little more love before it dies.
I'll link any how-to here when it's made.
Anyone try this on the CleanGB ROM.

Did not work for me. I have build 16 of GleanGB and after flashing and reboot I get to the GleanGB boot animation and then get a black screen with the capacitive buttons stuck lit on. Had to nandroid back to get it working again so make sure you backup before trying!
Was this modify to work on eh17? Or I can flash this on ei22 too?
Thanks!

It was modified from EH17's services.jar. I don't know if it will work on EI22 or not, since they are both Gingerbread. Make a nandroid backup and give it a try, for science!
