Unable to use flash because battery level is too low.. - HTC Sensation

Hello,
I got this problem
Today i flashed insertcoin 3.4.6 and played a little with it
At certain point i wanted to take a photo, battery was at 27% and this error appears.. Strange
In which way i can pass this error? I disabled all energy menagement
Is there a way to use flash at every battery %? because the phone let me use torch without problems...
Can the battery need to be calibrated or something like ?
Thanks

It's a kernel issue. They can't really do anything until the kernel source is released.

Ok understood, but which is the minimum battery level to take photos with flash?
I'm at 29% and it continues to say battery is too low..
Edit: the minimum is 30%.. can someone confirm this?

Faux kernel lowers it

I think once battery level goes below 30% flash is disabled.

The newer builds don't have a battery issue, most, including myself, get a 3mA drain while asleep which is as good if not better than most other ROMs, sense included.

I've already done all of that. My battery is decent when the phone is asleep. Where it sucks is when I am using it. I can browse the web for 10 minutes and I am done 6% battery or so. Even if I have the phone active most of the time, the biggest battery drains show as cell standby. Something is killing the radios when the phone is in use.

3 mA idle current is just phenomenal out of any device. Nexus one sees 6 mA, even the desire s sees 20 mA, thunderbolt is seeing 30 mA for some reason.
They really optimized the inspire.

I mostly do light browsing on my phone on wifi. If I browse for about 10 minutes or so I'm down 5-6%. When I was stock I'd lose maybe 1-2% after 10 minutes.
What I meant was how many milliamps is it draining while the screen is on? Battery Monitor Widget is what I use to check such things.
Also, what is your cpu set at in terms of speed and governor?

Settings> Audio> pocket mode off, vibration feedback off, other stuff that might use the proximity and the G sensor off.
Also check your installed apps some of them tend to stay active even after you "quit" them (you can't actualy quit). Download "system panel" for that, and you will see in te left of an app if it uses the cpu Even if an app is there is not actualy draining battery, only if it uses the cpu.
So don't use task killers, they will only drain you more battery.
I keep my screen on auto brightness, and i still get 2 days.
Hope i helped you.

Have you tried the tiamat kernel? Also, I recommend investing in Tasker to squeeze the most out of your battery. Simply having it automatically go into airplane mode when you sleep helps. Get it (like me) turning auto-sync on for 2 minutes every 15 minutes aswell, and you get over 24 hours battery with heavy use.

I had this problem when still on stock ROM and had a few widgets collecting data in the background. It wasn't all that severe though; I had to charge the phone once a day. Since I installed LBC mod, I only have to charge the phone every two days
Use this to track down the battery drain...

If it's data traffic related this'll point you at which specific app is using it...

Then either un-install the culprit, or try different kernel, or freeze the sucka using Titanium Backup. See if that helps. Either way, would be interested to know what you discover.
1% per minute is scary drain I agree. Something not quite right there. You're not OC to silly levels are you?
Yes, the new lbc ROM gas a drainage problem... Mine was dropping very fast. Switched back to leedroid, great battery life again! (Stock kernel) I also use setcpu
I reckon it could last me 2 days moderate usage, and 3 light usage!

[Q] How can I use the LED flash for the camera with low battery?

Hey guys,
probably you have noticed that the Sensation won't let you use the LED flash to take pictures when the battery is low (around 25%).
I find this very annoying, since 25% is not less enough for me to have my LED flash blocked.
Especially since I have to use the LED for pictures at night, where my battery is usually low, this function is absolutely stupid.
Is there a way to turn this off, so that I can use the LED to take pictures no matter how much battery charge I have?
PS:
Still looking for a way to turn off textreflow permanently:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225611
The easiest way is to just download one of the thousands of flashlights in the market. The no LED light isnt a system wide thing it is only in the Flashlight app and Camera app. Download a new flashlight from the market and your good to go whatever your battery is.
I am wondering if there is a correction for this as well, not so much for the flashlight, but for the camera.
Could there be someting in the camera.apk or the prop build?
Actually the flashlight is not important to me, but the flash at the camera app.
Maybe I should have chosen another subject for the thread.
I want to know how to take pictures with the flash, even when the battery has low charge.

So strange.

It appears to be pretty random when your battery foces your LED to stop.
Once I had 37% battery and it told me that my battery is to low to use the LED light.
However it's really annoying. Non of the suggested settings here work.
I think this issue can't be solved without a mod of the camera app.

What?
I am not a programmer, but I guess it would be possible to modify the camera apk in a way that it doesn't block your LED flash anymore.

I never had a chance to use it before the update, so I don't know, but it definitely has the 30% limit after the update.

Sounds about right for me then. There is definitely some battery capacity loss as it drains a bit faster than a year ago.
i leave LTE on at all times, brightness between low and auto, and my total screen time will be around 1.5-2 hours max.

the only way to get above 2 hours onscreen time is to heavily under volt, -75mV or above if u can. if you aren't already, you're missing out. Battery gains for no performance loss.

I just wanted to say that I installed TFQ Lightning zap kernel on top of vincoms SUPERLITE, and used his recommended underclock / undervolt / governor / io settings. I will report back in a few days once I've had a few runs with this setting.
super lite is a good, stable ROM, no bells and whistles, only what u need for a dd. lightning kernel is stable, and I recommend either voltage control or incredicontrol.

Im using Mohans latest Embryo 6.1 and tried both of the voltage controls you referred to and incdredicontrol gave me messages that stated there was a conflict with the kernel. I Installed voltage control but it appears the minimum I can set it is 192 mhz which is the same settings in the performance tweeks portion of the rom. I read earlier that it could be taken as low as 75. Any idea what I might be overlooking.

If you're S-OFF no need to relock or worry about your CID or stock recovery, the RUU will flash just fine. :good:
Good news! The RUU was successful and I booted up into BB9. I coumld've sworn that RUU's wipe /sdcard but apparently not. So I obviously don't have enough hours left in the day to test the battery, but I'll let it drain to almost dead tomorrow. Kinda off topic but if anyone was hesitant to RUU on Windows 8, don't worry, because I just did.
