Well sortve. What do you guys consider good or bad battery life on this phone. Right now I'm running Sky ICE with faux kernal and getting about 10% per hour. To me that's better than what I got stock considering its OC but how does that compare to everyone else's?

I am really heavy user and get about 10hrs or more with 2h52m of display time plus 44m of Asphalt 6 hd gaming. So it all depends on how you use your phone.

I'm running Space Pirate with romracers kernel (no OC) and my battery has been improving daily. Started around a drain of 3.7-4.0% per hour and the past few days has been 2.4-2.7% per hour. This is all with moderate use throughout the workday. Responding to a few texts here and there, checking some email, surfing the web while at lunch, and browsing the XDA app while in my other office (the bathroom... which may or may not be right now). Last night I plugged it in at 4% remaining after 1d 11h. So I've been very pleased with its battery. Compared to my Captivate, anyway, which couldn't even make it through the same workday.

I get about 14 hours or so with Sky ICS but I still feel like it could be better

Anyone who has installed the Gingerbread rom on their Inspire, have you noticed any difference in battery life. This is supposedly the main benefit to the upgrade. I want to wipe the Bloat ware off my system, but not install a rom unless it makes a huge difference. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated...
I am running inspired ace which runs gingerbread and battery life is great.

Major increase by about 3 hours...set cpu to power save when screen off and run at 756 does amazing things.
Also lowering brightness and turning of network when not in use

I too started getting MUCH better battery life with gingerbread. Any non-stock Rom for that matter.
If you want the absolute best in battery life go with gingerbeast ROM...

+1 to inspired ace and much better battery life than stock.
Last time I went battery for awhile; See attached.
Granted 9 hours of that I was asleep as was the phone but the rest was me playing games, reading, downloading apps, browsing listening to music using stereo bluetooth.
Rom is in the Sig.
Gingerbeast does have awesome battery life. I reverted back to RCMix3D only cause I missed it, and I get about 10-18 hours out of my battery on that one.
+1 on the RCMix,, cant say its much longer,, but it is good for a 8 hr wrk day..
+1 for inspired ace rom - battery is great and so is the performance increase!

gingerbeast has been ridiculously awesome for me on battery life. with moderate to heavy use, i get 12-18 hours of use a day
I have used HoneySense and LeeDroid, I have found that LeeDroid's kernel MUCH better than both HoneySense and the stock when it comes to battery life. In the end, it all depends on what you want, when you want alot of bells and whistles on all the time, your battery life will suffer, if you are more minimalist, you battery life will be much better
So far I've been one of those 'bells and whistles' people, and even on VU1.27 which I assume is pretty efficient I only get 8-9hrs. Surprising the biggest user has been voice calls, which will suck the battery dry in 2-3hrs if you have a couple long conversations.

I have noticed once the Dialer is used, it seems to keep eating battery if I don't restart. I'm not sure if this is the ROM or android in general though...

Glad I'm not the only one. Just assumed it was a radio issue.
Which one would have the best battery life? Or if it's a multi-step process (pick a certain rom then change kernals or something) could you link me/tell me also ?
I'm using Octane v2, and it worked good for the first day, but now it's draining my battery so quickly, even after the battery calibration. I'll lose 2% battery while watching a video for a minute or two.
airfluip1's KJ6 AOSP Style
I haven't done much testing but for the last few days I've been using airfluip1's KJ6 AOSP Style and the phone's battery just died after being off the charger since late Sunday. That's almost two days of juice on one charge.
I also have had excellent battery life with the MIUI ROM variants around the forum, but they are still works in progress and aren't feature-complete yet.

I don't think battery life will differ much between the roms we currently have available, as they all have a stock kernel.
Though under-clocking and juice defender work well for me, I am a heavy user, I've not been able to get more then 14 hours of use.

I've been all through this app searching for that one special combo that will guarantee me atleast 10 hours of battery life. I've tried fuax trinity stock kernels with miui , hyper sensation, leedroid, virtuous inquisition you name it. Most of them only gave me about 5 hours with heavy usage. I don't play any games much and I disable everything that's recommended to save battery life but still 5 hours. I have the newest firmware and I'm currently on rcmix with the kernel that already is loaded. I'm getting roughly about 7 hours with heavy usage. I set the governor to 192- 972 conservative. I've been checkin out quadro but the recent comments state they are getting huge battery drain. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

ARHD seems good for battery life. I'm on 13 hours with 32% remaining.
My usage today was playing games for about 30 minutes, some music, texts, some Browsing and a bit of calling and taking a dozen or so photos.

Hey xda, Ive got this rarely used g2x. Don't even got a simcard for mainly using it for fun I guess but I am gonna get it in service soon. Thing is I am getting terrible battery life on all recent roms, eb gb and ics and Hellfire gb and ics, I got stock battery, even with kernals my battery's terrible, looking for reccomended roms and kernals and any tricks/mods to improve battery life, and remember this is even without any data usage and am still getting this amount of battery life.

You never told us what you have tried, or what kinda battery life you are getting. Also did you put the phone in airplane mode so it isn't looking for service?

I've found that ICS roms are horrible on battery life. Also, like mt3g said, put it in airplane mode since you aren't on a mobile network. Take a look at this thread too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054420
Should I use Hellfire or eb gb, I've heard that eb is better but hellfire's gb was updated more recently, and which suggested kernal to go with it. I understand that it all depends in your phone but what in.your experience / opinion is the best combo.

The rom I'm using right now is Eaglesblood build 2.8 which is GB 2.3.7. I get pretty decent battery life just using the kernal that is built into it normally. I was having a few problems with HFP 2.1 so I switched to this and haven't looked back. Even though it isn't the most recent I still feel like its the best, just my opinion though.
I have got the best battery life so far with Eagles blood GB as well. HFS v1.5 is giving me ok battery life but EGB gave me double time as this ROM

Try them out, read the threads to see common issues and things that work well. Stop asking everyone here to do that little bit of work for you.
XDA is not your personal slave, we should not, and will not spoon feed you. Look around, spend more then 2 minutes looking at the first post. If you put in a good effort, people will be willing to help you, but just constantly asking for which ROM is just lazy.
You did not answer the question of whether you put the phone in airplane mode, you have not said any of the ROMs you've tried (other than all of them, which I doubt). At least pretend to give a ****...
Search!!!! there are tons of threads on how to increase battery life
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
? I don't think you give a **** because if you read my post you would of known that I'd have tried eb ics and gb, and hellfire ics and gb rom, and i've actually spent hours reading pages in the roms topic and other places, and I forgot to answer that question, my answer is no I don't even have a simcard in the phone for it to be searching for service and enabling it would stop wifi which is what I do use.
You can put the phone into Airplane mode and then enable WiFi. Even though you don't have a Sim install it can still try to search for a network and drain the battery. It will need a network without a Sim to be able to call 911 if needed.

@ctowne... I would love to know what you are doing that makes your battery life that good with a stock kernel. I'm running cm 7.0.2 and I've charged my phone a couple times through heavy use. I have cut a lot of the processes down and did all the troubleshooting to get better battery life and its still draining like **** during heavy ( or what I would call heavy) use

I don't think its necessarily the stock kernal. It's the one that is built in to Eaglesblood GB. Also try to follow this guide, it seemed to help my battery life. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054420 I did get around 30 hours on that charge but it varies quite a bit depending on usage. I always get a full day of moderate use though. Try switching to Eaglesblood GB and follow that guide to 20 hour battery life and see if it helps. If not, your battery could just be old/bad. Hope this helps!
Yeah i tried the eaglesblood rom and wasn't too impressed. Im sure that it was good for performance, however i immediately missed the customization with cm7 (adw launcher) and the themes that came with it. after i have flashed the faux123 kernel on here with cm7, im happy to say my battery life is incredible. i fished all day yesterday and listened to music while texting a bit and making a few phone calls. was out for about 10 hours and had only used 40% of my battery. so for anyone looking for a good cm7 kernel, the faux has been the best i have found yet
I was pretty pleased with my results here, so I thought I'd share. This is done with both OC and UV and making use of the the 3500mah batt and with moderate/normal use.
I can get that on stock battery, you must play some games and leave your phone on full brightness at all times or something.

No, I play one game in particular, and I spend more time on the web on my phone than most people do on their computer. I could get that on a stock battery too, if I never actually used my phone Before the the changes I made, I was getting significantly less life. Especially with OC.
It looks like the moment you turn your screen on your battery life plummets.

Thats from Oc'ing to 1560 lol
It's more useful to post test results on a standard battery and standard voltages and clock speeds so others can compare. I've gotten 3 days on stock CM7 nightly before, it really depends on how much one uses their phone. The biggest clue to how a ROM or kernel affects battery is to look at the idle drain (maybe with data off too). It should be flat or with < 0.5%/hr drain.
Where'd you get the 3500 Mah battery you are using? I've been trying to find a decent maker for one.
