So then which modem does the tar ball have, EH17? If so, then we just have to flash the EI22 modem, reboot and flash the EL30 modem. Btw, does this tar ball have stock recovery? If so, will we be able to put CWM or ACS Recovery back on EL30?

To get to the EI30 modem, you have to be on EI22. There are separate zip files that will upgrade your modem from that version. See this thread.

Thanks toad. Flashed this just to play with it and it seems pretty smooth. Can't wait for the devs to come out with some awesome ROM's. I too can report that my 4G speeds are pretty silly lately on this modem. Though I also think that may be the mass migration to Iphones in my area

Could someone tell me if you can flash the pre-rooted ROMS (specifically from bbelos) from this ROM's stock recovery? I ask because I don't think I've ever dealt with stock recovery before (only CWM and ACS Recovery).

No. You need CWM recovery to flash non-official update.zip files. You can get CWM5 here.

Found another leak for the SGS4G. This one has a build date of 08/11.
I'm sure this fixes some issues that were found in KH1.
Same steps, Extract then ODIN to flash.
I'm sure a Deodexed version will come soon.

Well this doesn't come with bootloaders, so as long as you have the GB bootloaders from KG4 you should be gravy.
EDIT
People asking about wifi, I haven't flashed it. It's only been out for less than 2 hours.
Oh, this leak doesn't have bootloaders this time? That's really interesting...
Which was the latest GB release with bootloaders? I thought KH1 had them but now I'm not sure. Seems like there must be bootloaders out for KH2 somewhere. Where's krylon getting these releases from? The only Samsung site I know about is the one with source code on it.
I'm mistaken. This does have it. I didn't look at the right filenames
KF1 came with both boot.bin and sbl.bin, the primary and secondary bootloaders.
KG4,KG6,KH2 came with sbl.bin only, which modified recovery and download modes
Those are the only ones I have on my computer, but it looks like all the GB leaks came with at least a secondary bootloader, which is what you need.
Not sure where krylon is grabbing them from, but I'd guess he's got a URL that Kies might use to check for updates and grab files.

Yeah you'd better disable it since this comes with a stock kernel which has no ext4 support. You can enable it again after you reflash the KG4 custom kernel with voodoo.
I just got ICBINB KH2 the way I want it.
I wonder if the changes are significant in this build to flash.
I still have MMS issues with KH1 though. I have to use handcent for it to work.
maybe it's a stupid question... i'm gonna flash the new ICS Room but i dont want to see any rainbow..
actually i'm using ZTR rom... i installed it from froyo stock..
which bootloader i have?..
Suggestion since your not familiar with what your bootloaders are...do some reading...
and since ics is still being in the delivery room not born yet....
Do some homework...
If you flashed the ICS kernel and you are seeing rainbow recovery, then you are on Froyo bootloaders.
What carrier
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
i've not flashed ICS yet, it's from att.. i'm not familiar with what bootloaders are.. according to some things I've read i know this is what "SAYS" kernel what to load until phone starts.. but when i updated froyo to GB with zeus 6 and then ZTR i did not do anything about bootloader just installed a 3e modded recovery and i could flash it well!! i've even got back to stock froyo using odin
froyo stock to ztr means that you most likely are on froyo bootloaders.
Simply flashing a ROM wont update you bootloaders. The easiest way to update bootloaders is through Qkster's Heimdall from my experience. As far as Roger's goes I believe their stock Bootloaders are GB. I am not 100% sure of this, but I believe that is correct.

either qkster's or AdamOutler's back to stock will install GB bootloaders.
None of the custom ROMs have bootloaders built-in, only kernels, modems and such are built in.
Qkster's Hemidall is the easiest I've found. You need to flash the rom first before the checkbox to install bootloaders is available. Then check the box and flash again.
Use hemidall 1 click back to stock uclb3...tick on "install bootloaders" (if the option cannot be ticked flash the the stock rom anyway but leave the hemidall program window open, ensure the phone is has booted uo completely then go back into download mode and then you should be able to tick it and flash over the stock rom together with gb bootloaders) ..then flash entropy dd to get cwm and root with super one click...

Is it really that bad to see the rainbows? Unlike previous Gingerbread kernels on Froyo bootloaders without the rainbowfix, recovery is semi-usable.
If you get the rainbows, you need to flash. If you don't get the rainbows, you don't need to. Best to check if you need the BLs first.
That said, what you've stated so far makes me think you're probably on Froyo BLs.
I also want to know what BL I'm on. I bought the infuse already rooted and running Zeus build 6 v2. I'm also wanting to flash an ICS Rom soon and don't want to brick cause I have to pc.

Your on froyo boot loaders... just use Odin... flash the uckk4 leak... then the community kernel to get cwm.. sound like yo really don't know what your doing, so using hemidal might not work for you.. the UCKK4 leak will give you boot loaders... then flash jts custom recovery to flash ics....

As the title says this is the new v21y update rooted. You must have the march 2012 baseband or in call audio will not function properly.
Disclaimer:
Not responsible for anything that happens to your device. It is yours and you flash at your own free will.
ROM includes:
v21y 2.3.4 update
Root -unsecured boot.img
init.d support
deodexed (was already that way in the update)
zipaligned
I did not remove any of the bloatware in this version, you should know how to do that yourself.
Known issues..
If you do not have the march 2012 baseband in call audio WILL NOT WORK. You have to update the baseband.

Everything I used to create the Zip is in here: http://d-h.st/zIL
I used unpack-bootimg.pl (I forget where that came from) to unpack an existing CWM Touch recovery.img from the Nexus S 4G
Then, I unpacked an existing boot.img from our device using zman0900s tools here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405284
Then, I added the etc/recovery.fstab and the default.prop from the epic to the nexus s 4g's recovery img.
Then, I repacked using a modified tool I made based on nubecoder's boot.img repack tools: https://github.com/nubecoder/create_boot.img
Then, I added the newly made ramdisk-recovery.img to Dees_Troy's TWRP zip.
Instructions:
Just flash this zip in any MTD recovery: http://d-h.st/Wfq and enjoy the new recovery after you go to advanced>reboot recovery
Unfortunately, due to the way our boot.imgs are packed, this recovery will be replaced when you install a new kernel or ROM, but the recovery replacement does not occur until you reboot recovery, so all you have to do is flash whatever you were flashing, then flash the CWM Touch zip and then recovery will stay.
On stock touchwiz ROMs, flash this modified version of Shadow Kernel that includes the recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1419586&d=1350836408
There are probably other ways to build the recovery, but none of them worked for me... not Koush's Builder and not building from source
Anyone can add this recovery to their kernel by extracting a boot.img using zman0900s tool, then adding my initramfs_cwm folder in the build script zip at the beginning of my post, then repack using nubecoder's tool.
Thanks to Koush for CWM
Thanks to our CM team for the device specific files I pulled to make this possible
Thanks to Dees_Troy for his TWRP zip I based this on
Thanks to nubecoder for his create boot image zip
Thanks to zman0900 for his extract boot image zip
First. About to try now. Thanks for this.

No problem guys.
*Ahem* I'd like to file a complaint if you will. I flashed this and my phone stole my little sister, and obviously since you put no disclaimer in this thread I'd like to formally blame you.
Can't wait to get the new epic... an awesome ex epic owner may be sending me his for free... I know what recovery I will be using! Thanks Xbox!

I would like to officially 2nd this statement!
Heh, good work Jake. I'm sure people will greatly enjoy this.
Great job Jake..Didn't think we would ever see this. So where this is based off of twrp, would it be possible to create an inject.cwm file like twrp has so there is an option to re inject after a flash?

Took an hour to redo my phone. At theater to see paranormal activity 4. Will re flash when I get home. I don't know why it soft bricked. I really want cwm touch. All I did was flah the zip. No rom update or anything else. But all the positive comments from everyone else gives me hope. But just in case I will re download in case it was a bad dl.

So want to see that movie... im jealous... and ya I would have to say it was probably a bad download seens how nobody else has had a problem... anyways goodluck and enjoy the movie!
Uhhhhhhhhhhh... I was waiting too long for this "touch", then I hopped onto TWRP days ago AND deleted ALL but one CWM backup... and here's the long-awaited touch but aww... Since TWRP everything's a hell lot easier but lost that sense of geek...
PLUS: Would like to report that TWRP does not work with "Stock FC09 Prerooted MTD", stuck at the Samsung logo too. If same phenomenon here, I guess it's that InjectTWRP won't work with stock kernels (CM and other kernels based on CM are all fine) ... @xboxfanj interested in the issue?

Yeah thats the problem. You need to be on an mtd rom. So, Odin stock then cwm, then flash any cm rom, then flash this cwm.

Substitute "Xbox" for "Gump" and you've got it. Jake, your genius is truly amazing and inspirational.Thank you...
