That's entirely up to whom ever wants to port it over or if it will be officially supported by the CM crew. They have been really good about supporting the MyTouch 4G for a long time now so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't an official release for us over here.

I would definitely love to see cm9. This phone has surprisingly lasted me since its release date. I'm switching over to the amaze but I can't forsee my self ever getting rid of this phone.

Mytouch
I've had the mytouch for over a year and it's been great, such an awesome phone and I would love to see it with cm9
Thats whats bothering me the phone has potential any rom any type of 3d acceleration it handles flawlessly sence roms cm roms miui roms all work without a problem. Dev-feb is already working on a ics rom tried it the phone handled it without a problem forget the bugs.

The G2 has been rooted (full)! Does this mean full root on Mytouch 4 Gizz? I believe they both had the same nan lock. I'm looking foward to custom roms and modifications, Sence Rom and cyanogen will make this phone much better. Any Devs working on the mytouch that I can follow?

Actually that's something I noticed too, all the work with modules, overlooking , etc. Has been for the G2 I may regret my decision to switch over to the mt4g I was spoiled with all the attention the g1 got.

The G2 has been out longer, and it was expected to get more attention then this one overall.
Hopefully the process will work on this one also after some developers here are guided by the G2 method (assuming it is a similar scheme on both devices).
Kmobs (teamdouch) ordered the phone last week. We'll be fine.
Update, he just posted in another thread here that he'll have it in a few hours
full root for our phone is out!

As of right now, the Inspire is supposed to get ICS, but it is still up for debate. I bet there will be ICS ports though, so we will get it one way or another

Unless they denied it within the last week, it is still floating in limbo. Some say the HTC Ace and Stallion,which are the code names for DHD and Inspire, should receive ICS

Even if the inspire doesn't get an official update to ICS there will be a custom rom
I don't think there will ever be an official release. We may get a newer gingerbread upgrade since the last on bites, but development for the inspire leaves us with better roms than stock anyway. I bet there will be a better more stable release through xda before ics ever hits officially for the inspire, but I don't think it ever will. I emailed HTC and asked if we would be getting ics or any other upgrades and they said they are working to make the experience better for the inspire but do not have anything in the works currently. This lead me to beleive they are long past worrying about the inspire. We will probably not even get a better gingerbread build imo.
HTC already released the list of devices that are getting ICS, Inspire4g/desire hd not in it.

If it doesn't we will still get it with ports from other devices... and of course cyanogen so no worries man

It wasn't a complete list. It was like these are the phones are definitely getting ics. The HTC desire had just got gb earlier this years when HTC clearly said it wouldn't. So don't count our phone out.

Yeah i saw it somewhere it wasn't the complete list, but i find it hard to believe an 1 year old phone get the second update of its existence; the phone is technically 1 year old, considering its a variation of the DHD (released in september '10 I believe)

I think htc will give us the official release of sense 3.0 or even sense 3.5 to make up for the widgets and animations ICS will have to offer so we arent completely out of the loop

It wont matter really what HTC releases. It will be up to ATT to release a build built for the inspire or the best we can hope for is a port from the DHD. ATT normally has done a One OS update per device and thebinspire got theirs already. Hope I am wrong but history says I am not.

SK4G is unsupported both by devs and Samsung. Aren't you guys still stuck with Froyo or something? Either way even if you get GB you'll never see anything past GB unless you get CM9, which is highly unlikely.
MT4G has awesome Sense ROM's, a solid MIUI ROM, and a very stable CM7 ROM with CM9 looking within weeks.

I actually traded my sk4g for a Mytouch and its completely with it. Yes a keyboard its nice but there's no development, and the Mytouch has a bigger screen and typing/swyping is a lot easier that on the sidekick screen.

Getting a Mytouch 4G for a Sidekick 4G is like getting an Audi for Kia (I don't specifically have anything against Kia, but I doubt anyone will argue that a Kia is a better car than an Audi). Don't ask questions. TRADE! Trade and run before your friend realizes their mistake.
I played with a Sidekick 4G for a few minutes and it was a joke. Minus a physical keyboard a Mytouch 4G is better in every way.

so im finally making the switch to a duel core phone, and decided to go with the HTC amaze 4g. i like samsung but there phones seem so flimsy to me, touchwiz is awful and m experience with the galaxy s was a weird one. anyways...i was just wondering if any of our favorite devs are moving/planning on moving or deving on the amaze. I have loved the development on this phone and have grown fond of the work of certain devs, (faux123, team royal, and TDJ). after seeing that tdj moved to the SGS2, it almost made me want to throw my amaze on craigslist, although i saw Faux wich made me happy ha. anyways i hope i see development on that phone as good as the mt4g was/has been.

Faux123 has an amaze but there is no s-off so no roms for s-on devices. Tdj and royalknight aka darkside dev team went to the sgs2. Your best bet is the amaze if you don't mind waiting for s-off

Not true. For the amaze you don't need s-off. All you need is an unlocked bootloader. I bought my girl the amaze because her mt4g broke. Unfortunately it came s-on (some people will be lucky enough and have s-off already when when receiving their amaze) so the same week I bought her the phone, I unlocked the bootloader. Its almost the same as s-off. I was able to grant her permroot and she can even flash custom roms and kernels. I already debloated her amaze and added a custom battery, tether and have setcpu running on it to get better battery life.
At this moment I'm researching on which custom rom is best for her so I can flash.
So if you lurk the amaze forum you'll see they have a few selection on custom roms, kernels and mods.

I saw different pics of the ville and don't know which ones are the actual pics for it. One of them looked a lot like the galaxy nexus and the other one just looked like crap.

Yea.I bought my amaze off contract so when my contract is up for renewal ill sell the amaze and get the next best thing in Q4 of this year...that's when all the best stuff comes out anyways

Just got the amaze today.basically a larger mytouch4g.Although it has a higher screen resolution,there isn't that great a difference from the mytouch.the camera is better no doubt.actually,its quite good for a camera.build is solid,yet remains light to the touch.
Sense 3.0 is so much smoother than any sense rom.
its abeautiful phone.
Recently got and unlocked a Sammy infuse.it has a nice Tom selection,which are high quality roms (Zeus) thanks dman,my daughter loves it.
I thought I'd prefer the amaze,but provably should have tried the sgs2.
Amaze is very good though!
Edit:yeah,that extra tenth of an inch on the Samsung phones makes a difference.atleast with the Zeus rom ,the infuse is kickass and so much smoother than any mytouch rom. Yet I made my choice.
Not dissatisfied,but miss that butter from the Sammy.

Huawei is actually pretty good, aside from their low end piece of **** phones they originally released (Their original Ascend didn't even have a freaking GPU -_-).
I am new to the Sensation. I came from the mt4g which had a very successful and long life with development.
Anyway I know sensation had a huge following and lots of devs. How long do you suspect the Dev support to flourish on this phone?
Also, what is a good, solid ROM to start with?
