[Q] mic n speaker error during call (samsun Captivate AT&T)) - Captivate General

i have issue with my samsung Glaxy s Captivate (AT&T) still on standard
firmware 2.1-update1
Kernel Version 2.6.29
[email protected]*2
build number ECLAIR
the problem is that on google search the mic works and looks up exactly what it is comanded. it records all the sounds in recordings. the speakrs work whilst playing music. during playblack of recorded sounds.
however during a call neither the speakrs or the mic work in either standard mode nor does it work in the speaker mode
i dont understand it cant b the issue with the the mic and the speakers because if it was it wouldnt record or playback
right????
really need help badly
ive tried almost everthing
factory reset through code
ive unlocked
rooted

Sounds like a software issue. You are in a 2 generation old version of Android.
UPDATE YOUR OS. If that doesn't fix the issue...hey atleast you just got a performance boost by having gingerbread instead of eclair...

dead mic?!?!

Urgent help is needed with my TP.
I recently noticed i had to shout louder and louder to be heard during a call but now the phones internal mic doesnt register any sound at all. This problem seems to have ocurred after flashing to Cracings latest Rom (I've been succesfully flashing various roms since I got the fone 18months ago)
Obviously i flashed back to the phones original Vodafone rom & radio but this didnt make a difference and im now stuck with a phone that i cannot make any calls with.
Interestingly if i use the wired handsfree kit that came with the phone the sound quality in calls is perfect so ive ruled out a radio issue. Similarly if i run the voice recorder that comes installed with the Vodafone Rom i can only record sound with the wired headset not the fones mic.
One final point after flashing the stock rom i noticed in Total Commander that there was three different Audiopara3 files in the Windows folder. Thinking it would solve the issue i did another hard reset which seemed to delete these files leaving me with just the "Audiopara4Voda" file - unfortunately i still have the dead mic problem and im desperate to find a solution.
Any help is greatly appreciated
anybody?
can i be the only one whose mic has stopped working for no apparent reason???

[Q] Record call, both side

Do any one use a Apps to record calls in the Galaxy S 4G, I found many Apps that not working on my phone but apparently working on Galaxy S...
I tested :
Record My Call --- stock my phone
Call Recorder | Total recall --- its record but the other side dont hear me...
AndroRec Free Call Recorder --- its record but the other side dont hear me...
AllCallRecorder --- sometime stock my phone and its record but the other side dont hear me...
to "solve" the problem that the other side dont hear me you need to switch to speaker then to switch back to phone then its ok... and record the call but not with good quality..
Do any one know what Apps is good record call??
Do any one know why there is a problem?? or how to fix it?
What rom, I don't know, but maybe has something to do if you are using Octane 3.x or Krylon no CIQ edition. Those may have something removed in the framework required by those programs.
Have you given Gooogle Voice a try. You press some # on your keypad and it records the conversation.
I did all of the testing:
T959VUVKD1 - Deodexed FIXED
Valhalla v1.3.2
Audiophile Series: Redux: v1.3.3
about Google Voice, its work only on US not in Israel
Now I am on Valhalla Final, and I tried most of them, with the same results...
have the same frustrating problem..
a lot of the vendors blame it on our hardware, but it's their coding (or lack thereof) - somewhere in our phones is software that converts our voice from the mic to a usable signal that can be carried,
the same but vice versa for the ear piece, and they've somehow neglected to tap into those for this specific phone and have only tapped into the speaker, so all SGS users are seemingly assed out :/
I had two programs work fine in froyo. In gingerbread its something new with that that no one has applied whatever code is needed to get both sides recording right. And to have the right mics open etc. someone should fix this.. Recording is a big deal

[CM7]echo problem SOLVED!!

today i tried to use GetRil in my thill 4G running BangL MOD(CM), GB v20c baseband
I installed the one read "lgp920-v21a-NOV ***" I think its safe because theres a restore option
after a reboot I tried to call my dad's phone, and use the speaker(this is where worst echo should happen)
and I yelled many time using my dad's phone, I couldn't hear a thing!
and the Thrill side can hear my voice (call quality has no problem.)
SO excited to share with everyone
Echo problem was the only thing that holding me back to the CM rom
Now It's solved!!
can any of ya test it out and confirm this works for everyone?
Gonna test today

How do you manage to solve the problem?
I'm trying new "CyanogenMod 7.2 Modded" and the sound in call as terrible echo( hear phones, speaker or loud speaker) .
Also play music in the speaker have very low sound.
strange today I tried to use my home phone to call my phone, and the echo is still there.
the low volume I think is because the voice is not coming from the speaker but from the top speaker, changing volume of media is setting should temporarily solve that, until you call someone.
cyanogen needs a lot of work..
One thing i discovered was that if i listened to the fm radio and somedody called me the audio modules crash and sound doesnt work.

Voice quality on Google Talk

I've bought this tab recently which came with android ICS, I tried Google Talk on it, and my voice quality was miserable for the other party, so i installed CyanogenMod 4.2.2 stable, and google talk audio quality problem is solved, its cristal clear for the other end of the line. Is there a solution which i can apply to the stock ICS Rom, that also solve this audio quality issue? i guess CM uses some Voodoo audio software or drivers that works better, how i can i get this to work with stock ICS?
