We're pretty much running the same stuff. I'm on a stock ROM with bhundven's subtly modified kernel. I'm using version beta 2d, currently, but I've not experienced any lag - scrolling or otherwise - with any of the versions I've run.
Are you running anything that's possibly eating a lot of CPU and/or RAM?
Go to the home screen
Hold the "Home" button down until the "Recent" window pops up
Press the Task Manager button
Is there anything running?

Yeah, if you did a backup then maybe a restore, it's possible something restored that is causing the issue. If you start clean, make sure you do a factory data reset before the install, then wipe the cache partition and the Davlik cache after the install. Once you have the ROM on, flash the kernel, then debloat. Double-check after that to see if Voodoo lagfix is enabled. Once that is done, see how it's working.
Does The backup had save my settings right?

Good question. I know it saves user data and apps, I think, but I've never done a restore so I'm not 100% sure. I want to say yes, but I need someone with knowledge and experience with Nandroid restores to chime in here.
I'll try it when i get home ;-)

I tried restore in CWM,
after that,
it's still lagging :/
Can you please provide more information then, as best are you can?
Did you flash any tweaks, themes, anything else?
If the phone is lagging still, even after the restore, then you might as well load a new rom. Do it from a clean wipe.
nope,,
I JUST RESTORE MY PHONE USING THIS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498
BECAUSE I USED THE NANDROID RESTORE IN CWM AND IT DIDN'T WORK AND BOOT LOOPED MY PHONE

To do a full restore on gingerbread just flash a bali kernel with voodoo. Then after the flash reboot recovery then restore your nandroid
EDIT: may also help on soft bricking gingerbread as long as you have gingerbread bootloaders. As you can restore to a nandroid.

I used the voodoo recovery all i did was flash the kernel bali 3.3,then immediately boot back into recovery, then fully restored my backup. I would make a video but i dont have a youtube account maybe dsexton or raverx3x could make a video for it.

Glad I scrolled through and found this...
ICBINB KH2 left me with the vanishing SD card, i was looking for a fix for that problem when I found this... at least I should be able to get back on Black Ice for now.
Followed the steps, so no clue what happened, but it did... and I couldn't get my compie to recognize the phone to Odin back like I usually would... Recovery wouldn't come up like usual either...
One 5 second read here and I'm back on Bali 3.3, and restoring my last Ice nand...
(fingers crossed, but should be good to go!)
Isn't the real question for gb "how to do a full backup?"

cnote thanks for the find. Life just got a whole lot simpler!
so does Gingerbread actually run with the Bali 3.3 kernel then?
or is it just so you can use the recovery console, and you never actually boot the phone? so you would need to immediately flash a GB kernel after this?

You need to flash kg4 cwm kernel after restoring your GB nandroid. If restoring froyo, I always reflash Bali after restore. All this done in recovery. Don't let the phone boot up until you reflashed the kernel.

Yeah, I thought GB doesn't mount the system, so a GB NAND backup can't be made.
@Somairotevoli: Did you flash Bali 3.3 first, then create a backup of GB? I'm so confused on this.
Is anyone having this issue? I cant find a fix for it, this is really a great rom if not the BEST!!!
Have you tried a hard reboot? Do you have apn's listed?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I'm pretty sure that CM7 2.3.7 has the data fix, but try the DragonG2X kernel, which has the APN fix that the cyanogen team came up with, should hopefully fix your problems. If it doesn't, try a clean install with a full wipe and the kernel, if that doesn't work, you might need a new sim card (small chance of that one making a difference), and if that doesn't work, you have no chance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229932
Yes I have tried doing a hard reboot, flashing the rom again and wiping everything and it still has no data. Also i have flashed an older rom and it still has the problem, and I know its not the sim card or my phone because with other roms it works perfectly, its a shame because i really liked that rom.
no i dont have apn's listed
Try the kernel mentioned above.
And put your phone number in settings<call settlings<additional settings
I've seen that fix the apn issue for some.

Sorry for the question but how can I flash a rom? Via clockworkmod, installing from SD card?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I think you mean kernel right? If so, yes, thru cwm like a rom. Wipe cache and dalvik before flashing it the fix permissions before reboot.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Yes that's what I meant hahaha, OK will try it!!!
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Try this, flash the tmobile recovery first, then boot into the phone. Wipe from settings, privacy, wipe the sdcard box or whatever... let it do its thing, until it reboots after the part when android flys up, pull the battery, then flash clockwork recovery, wipe everything again, then flash what you need, wipe data, pull battery, flash stock tmobile recovery, then hold down volume down and power until it wipes it's own, let it load, then flash back the recovery of your choise if needed... everything should work after this. I notice that if I don't do these steps, my use up memory after flashing any rom is pass 260, but when I do these steps, its at around 160mb

The title of this thread is what keeps happening to me at least once after I flash an update or a theme on my phone. Its been happening since I've used the icbinb ki series. It usually will happen once or twice after a titanium backup restore. Or turning on the phone after calibrating the battery. Someone please give me some feedback. No i'm not a noob as you can see been here for a long while, I read and follow directions to the t. So I'm very confused with this! It happens when I'm on uv stock kernel default settings or oc.
Your framework is crashing. That's what's causing the soft reboot. Usually due to a theme not meant for the build you are using.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I only use themes labeled for the rom i'm on. it happens after fresh ROM fashes as well... I read somewhere about soft bootloaders for 2.3.5. Are they different than the 2.3.4 bootloaders from kg4? I'm thinking this must have something to do with it. It started happening after first flashing 2.3.5. I haven't odined of the releases.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
I currently have tried refuse 1.7, caty 1.0 & 1.5; currently running caty 1.5. I would recommend caty rom, the only thing I notice is the data sometimes cuts out and I have to restart my phone, also it shows the rom as "caty v2.0" in the "about" section of the phone, but the post says 1.5 so I am not sure what it is. But it's very simple to install and to run. Just make sure you follow directions to a T. When it says to let it reboot and sit for ten minutes actually do it. DONT FORGET TO HAVE A BACKUP IN CWM. Make sure it's rooted, I tried to root mine with Superoneclick and it didn't root properly, I had to use the odin with 3e recovery and root preset, then I was able to install roms. Good luck to you.
Yea...sorry...need to fix build prop...lol...keep forgetting to do that...and the service cutting out may just be the modem...

Are you using ROM Manager? if so, that is probably why you can't get it to work. just 3 button into recovery mode, go to backup and restore, and click backup. It should take a little while to work, and you can watch it go through all of the files as it backs them up.

It is also helpful to create a folder on the SD card named "1 rom" so you can keep all your downloaded roms in one place and then you also don't have to scroll far with the volume keys since the folder will be at the top of the list all the time

Yes this is exactly what I'm asking about. If I don't have the kernel and I reflash the ROM after the data wipe, what will I have lost when the phone reboots? Maybe a better question is what will I need to restore as I've done a full backup.

When you dont wipe anything and flash the rom, you won't loose anything as far as i know. This method is known as dirty flashing. This may sometimes causes unintended issues.
If you wipe cache, dalvik-cache, boot, system and data and flash the rom, you will loose all the apps installed, messages, contacts etc. This is full wipe, clean install.
