Hey EVO world,
So apparently, Verizon has a bit of exclusivity on this new Bing app. Even though I felt dirty downloading it and opening it- its the beauty of open source..and here it is attached for you-
Enjoy
Let me know if needs to be on a server or something- or if it aint working..
thank you!!!!! I've been waiting for the bing app!
Thanks for this. Reporting that it works great.

I just downloaded it, and even though I prefer Google by far(Especially on Android), I gotta say it's a quality app, and makes me happy that we're finally seeing quality software on Android. The app is not without its issues though: I tried getting directions with Bing Maps, switched to gmail for a second, and when I switched back my map was reset and directions were nowhere to be seen. Really, really aggravating when you're out and about.
Thanks, vry nice

Anyone else notice that Bing won't work over 4G?
Does anyone know whether this Bing apk 2.1.635.20111202 on menikmatinya.blogspot is legit?
What year is the OP from? Curious cuz I'm wondering if its the same Bing apk I found on xda a year ago or more.

Not sure how old it is but I must say I like the way the image search is. And lets face it. Its not often MS one ups Google at their own game.

Does anybody have the latest version of this available as an apk?
Downloaded works great!

Thank you for posting this. Not a big fan of bing on my computer, but I do like this app. Works great.
This is in the market already

Unfortunately it is not available in my non-US play store.
Found this on twitter, won't work on my evo and have heard similar problems on incredible and n1. It installs but says device not supported when I try to activate it, maybe a dev here can figure it out.
Mod Edit: Don't post links to warez or unreleased betas

It isn't free software, nor is it officially released (though I would gladly pay for it if it came out sometime... ) Wish I got into beta.
Works fine on my Nexus S

Works fine on my galaxy s but lags sometimes.

Has anyone tried the leaked Netflix app? I so have you gotten the videos to play?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
nope...I can get all the way in but when I try to stream, it tells me the service cannot be reached...
Here is a link to the apk file in case anyone else wants to try
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...apk-leaked-probably-wont-stream-anything-yet/
I have it loaded. Same report as everyone else. Doesn't stream - says it can't reach the Netflix service.
I can however manage my instant queue so it's useful to me already.
Same here with cm7 nightly.

ohhhhh yeaaa. haha
I like to use TV Shows Stream. thats an awesommmeee app that has like any tv show known to man on it and really good quality too on my Vibrant. but movies would be sick with netflix. hope they're not crap quality.
Doesn't even install on my Verizon Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S) on Android 2.1. Perhaps it requires 2.2.
Alright. So what is the reason that we cant stream on droid x
As far as I know, there aren't any devices that can stream yet.
Netflix claims it's lack of adequate native DRM support in the Android OS.
Not even 3.0 can support it? Come on Android!

At least we now have a decent app to take care of our queue I am sure streaming is not far away.

I was referring to Android devices, the Netflix app works like a dream on my ipad.
One if the problems is the app is apparently looking for DRM built jnto the cpu, not the operatjng system. If that's the case you'll never get it running on any of the older phones.

From what I have read over at droidxforums netflix will only stream on snapdragon processors. They have the right security built into them.

This may be inappropriate, but why would anyone pay for movies (and/or Netflix service) in the first place? It's not like there isn't anyway to get them free

Netflix is 1000x more convenient and not illegal like pirating movies and TV shows.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense about the processor.

The whole "needing hardware DRM" thing is horse crap, Netflix is just being too lazy to do it through software in the Netflix app for Android. You see them requiring Intel or AMD to put in a hardware DRM function in their processors for streaming on desktops and laptops?.....
I was so happy to hear that the Netflix was coming to android .... but not anymore this is sad.
that's what they're saying that its an issue w/security like were going 2 sit there & record off our phones quality would suck even if u could

If you have Playon installed on your PC, you can use the Playon Android app for Netflix, Hulu, etc

For sure. Not to mention that the quality is generally better. (slash no sub-titles in another language...)
Netflix apk. untested on D2/DX...
I haven't had the time to play around with this apk yet. I know it works on the droid incredible. Have at it...

Guys and Gals of XDA, I think I've found the Holy Grail for the Xperia Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.awindinc.sphone2tv&hl=en
A little app called MirrorOP Sender. Fully functional Android display mirror to PC and it runs fairly well.
Just played the first level of Super Mario Bros with only 1 death...Streamed from my Play to my PC connected to my TV through HDMI
All you need is the MirrorOP Receiver for the PC and you're good to go:
http://www.mirrorop.com/product_Windows_Receiver.html
The sender app is only a trial but it's worth a test. I'm not sure if the framerate is connected to how good your internet connection is. My internet isn't that good and it displays fine (portrait and landscape) but from some American speedtests I've seen maybe some of the Americans in here might have better results
Going to give ago. If works, extremely good find
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Not bad, not bad at all! Excellent find!
Just found out you can also do it the opposite way as well if you get the MirrorOP receiver for your Play and Sender for PC
Runs brilliantly and means I can still access my desktop from the comfort of the toilet
Root only.
Awwwww
lags, dont know why
Tried it out will be perfect if it didn't lag..... Atleast for games and videos ..... But displaying pictures are ok enough......

Not to mention its like THE EASIEST PHONE TO ROOT EVER. None of those ridiculous tools that Motorola phones need to achieve root, no worry of s-off or any of that crap. I pity the Foo who doesn't zergrush his Xperia PLAY first thing.

Can you try the app before.you buy or must you buy first? After reading the comments here and in Play Store is it true to say the app is still slow & needs some work or is it worth buying now?

Not worth paying for yet as just to slow for games. Can test out first as the apps are free for demo time. But this does have lots of potential in the long run. Still early days yet but if see how good splashtop is, this app good just be as good and fast with some more work done to it.

Any experiences?

Very good find, but instead this exactly like VNC for Android?
I was using one, called Droid VNC server by Jose Pereira. (Sorry, I can put links right now )
Nook Color. On CM9. 'Nuff said.
