I have a Chevron unlocked Samsung Focus on AT&T network.
Recently I updated the OS to 8107 using cab files. After that I enabled Internet Sharing, also using cab file. Everything work well, no problem!
I noticed in my phone call History there is a Voicemail tab. I don't remember seeing this "voicemail" tab in the past. I know it's a visual voicemail feature because when I chose to sync voicemail it say "Can't connect to visual voicemail." Anyone has this feature working on their Samsung Focus (especially AT&T)? Any idea how to easily remove this feature because it's not working and my phone no longer shows notification that I have new voicemail?
Thanks!
you should be able to turn it off.
Goto Setting>applications>phone
From there you should have a slidered to turn VVM on/off
Thanks for your quick response, 2GStyle!
Unfortunately there is no sidered/toggle to turn on/off VVM there.
The settings I see are:
My Phone number: ###
Voicemail number: ###
Traditional voicemail: only option is "Call"
Show my caller ID to: xxx
Call forwarding toggle
International assist toggle
SIM security toggle
I forgot to mention my Samsung Focus uses an iPhone 3GS's SIM; didn't like the iPhone so I bought the Focus and reuse the iPhone's SIM. I'll try to call AT&T to see if they can turn VVM on and off and see what happen.
I am running build 7720 official update from AT&T on my Samsung Focus and there is a "voicemail" button in the call history, but it doesn't do anything besides call my normal voicemail.
As far as I know, in the US, T-Mobile is the only one supporting visual voicemail on Windows Phones.

Push notifications have been wildly inconsistent for me, so I would like to go back to the standard voicemail settings. How do I do that? Will uninstalling it re-route callers to AT&T's voicemail? Also, what is the phone number to call my voicemail? Thanks.
Phone: Focus
Carrier: AT&T, locked
You can probably just bring up the dialer and hold down number 1 for a couple of seconds second to dial voice mail (and get the number). ATT has voice-mail centers all over, so no clue what yours is. Do not know about other question, sorry.
Under phone settings my voicemail number is currenly my google voice number, and that's what is dialed by holding 1.
Allllllright I finally disabled it. Problem is I can't find the ATT number you dial from your cell, so if any on ATT could check their phone....
Just call ATT, as I said, it depends on your location. I am pretty sure they have redirect center in every area code.
If you go into Google Voice voicemail settings and tell it to turn GV Voicemail off, it'll give you step by step instructions on how to reset it back to AT&T voicemail.
Anyone get Visual Voicemail working with build 7720 ?
I'm on T-Mobile and had them turn it on earlier today but the phone is unable to enable it.
I'm going to verify it's enabled on an Android phone tomorrow.
Thanks
Yeah
I got a TMOUS HD7 and it works fine.
I already subscribed to Visual Voicemail from previous phones. I enabled it through Phone Setting, under where it has your phone number.

oops forgot to report the error I am getting when I try to enable it:
"Something happened and we couldn't set up your visual voicemail. Make sure you have a cellular signal and try again. You may also need to contact your operator to enable this on your current phone plan"
I think i just need to have some patience for it to get enabled.
Call and leave a voicemail on your phone. That's how I got mine to activate. I didn't even have to "enable" it... it just turned on.
i the same message too on 7720
oops forgot to report the error I am getting when I try to enable it:
i can not figure it out yet
i had that problem on build 7712 but i just kept trying then after a day it worked..

I am on T-Mobile USA and I can confirm that the VVM is working on 7720 and the Mango betas before as well. Just make sure the feature is active on your account.
Working fine here too.Tmous HD7 with 7720
it works now, seems like enabling Visual Voicemail is a 2 step process and I had to call in and have a 2nd engineer spend about 10+ minutes fixing the problem. He ended up having to reset my voicemail completely.
The ironic thing is the Android phone I was using as my control still thinks it's disabled, tries to enable it, apparently succeeds but still thinks it's disabled.
I'm using an LG Optimus 7 that was recently updated to 7720. Seems to be working fine, save for a few minor issues: one of them being Visual Voicemail. I have it set up on my account, evidently, and I can enable it just fine, but when I go to play back any of the message, there is no audio. It acts as if it's playing the message, but you can't hear anything: not from the earpiece, the speaker, or over a bluetooth headset.
Anyone else run into this?
Lastly, what "Voicemail Number" do you have listed? My phone defaulted to some strange international number that it couldn't even dial. I've since replaced it with "123", which dials fine, but I'm not sure if that's what I'm supposed to have in there. I'm on T-Mo USA.
Thoughts?
VVM is now working on my HD7. Took about a day for it to accept the visual voice mail function versus the two hours the rep told me. It wasn't getting any messages to show up so I cycled the phone and now it seems to be working fine.
t-mobile told me that the feature is not supported.
I can't get vvm to work on 7720. I have added vvm to my account.
I'm running the hd7
FIX
I found this on another thread. text
"Activate:dt=6" to 122
without the quotes
I have a note edge from Verizon running on metro pcs, full mms, 4g lte and everything working (other than hotspot). When I press and hold 1, or dial *86 it says "call cannot be completed as dialed". But when I call my actual phone number it goes right to my new voicemail. But my password isn't being accepted. Metro has been helping me through it and they cannot figure out what the deal is. Anyways, is there a way to fix so I can dial 1 or *86??
Also unrelated, if you know anything about the hotspot i'd like to fix that as well.
Ok I resolved half the problem, for future reference I'll explain what to do
It turned out my dialer was not registering when I pressed the numbers during calls.
To fix just go to your dialer > settings > call > dtmf tones > and click long tones.
I still have an issue where pressing and holding 1 or dialing *86 still can't complete the call.

I can't get visual voicemail to work on my phone. Talked to tech support and after an hour of trying to help me, they said this device is not supported by AT&T.
I tried setting up Google voice on this phone, but the phone won't let it forward calls. I just get an error.
Any help greatly appreciated.
What was tried for vvm?
Is it enabled in the dialer settings?
Not clear what the problem with GV is.
Try dialing *004*xxx-xxx-xxxx# (substituting your GV# for 'xxx-xxx-xxxx') to get calls forwarding to GV when your phone is busy or unanswered
When I use the *004*xxx-xxx-xxxx# I get "call forwarding connection problem or invalid MMI code. (1)"
When I try call forwarding through the phone app settings, I get "network or sim card error"
Reading online a new sim card won't fix this. I have reset network settings and rebooted. I've call ATT text support, but they have no answers and tell me this is an unsupported device.
So I can't get att visual voicemail to setup and because I can't use call forwarding, I can't use Google voice for their visual voicemail.
Any suggestions?

*004*xxxxxxxxxx*11#
That's the GSM code, works on AT&T and TMO, or at least did on my 3G phones.
Also seen **004*1xxxxxxxxxx# mentioned.

I tried both and get the same errors as before. You don't realize how much you miss a feature until it's gone. Standard voicemail sucks. Anyone else have a suggestion?
Maybe try 002 instead if 004?
(Though that forwards all calls. Could then deactivate with #21#)
Or the individual conditions using *67, 61, and 62.

They worked with TF AT&T when I last had GSM, in 2015.
Also saw some posts suggesting that AT&T won't allow changes to Cinditional Call Forwarding from the phone now and to call to have them set/change it.
With the March security update, AT&T visual voicemail now works.
I just picked up this device for tmobile. i havent rooted or unlocked bootloader (may decidee not to). I have t-mobile visual voicemail (free version). but it is pretty laggy. On my last phone (moto g) the voicemail was right in the google phone app. in the phone app, at the bottom, there was tabs for 'favorites' 'recents' 'contacts' and 'voicemail'. This was much smoother.
Is there a way to get this on the 8t? I tried the way of going into Phone settins and activating voicemail there, but its not an option.
I know I could just long press #1 on dialpad, but thats pretty annoying. I do like having an app that shows a list of all my voicemails. but this tmobile version kinda sucks.
I came from a 6T with visual voicemail in the stock phone app. For some reason, on the 8T, the phone app only gives me the option of visual voicemail on SIM #2, not my TMO SIM. As a band aid, I'm suing the TMO Digits app to get visual voicemail for SIM #1.
