Power button options - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I was on Team Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.2.2 - Moray and yesterday I updated to stock ICS with root.
I want to know how I could get the following
1. Battery percentage
2. When I press the power button I want "Restart" "Recovery" "Shutdown" options which I had in Tiamat Rom
Any idea how I could get these two?
thank to you all in advance

I would say to download the EOS nightly builds, it has it all and more, im not the slightest bit disappointed with it

New to nexus s (roms and kernels)

Just wondering...have a nexuss from att. Rooted and cwm 3 installed. What is the button combo to get into recovery and is it OK to just flash any rom now?

Download rom manager to update you cwm. From rom manager reboot into recovery or turn off you phone, then back on while holding volume + button. You should boot into recovery

So can I install any rom though?

Yep. Don't forget to wipe date/ cache and dalvik cache when installing new rom. It beats getting stuck at Google logo trying to figure out why the phone isn't booting.
Cool. Any suggestions on what roms are good?

Personally. I like miui , but there are a lot of good roms. Cyanogen has many features. Many of them are fast. But to me, nothing beats miui in terms of themes and simplicity.
Super osr is the best rom

Also im wanting to use ext4 partitioning (lagfix). Is this done automatically or is there some kind of app to use? Ive got the latest recovery. Over in the cappy forums we just went into recovery to enable it. Anyway the question presents itself.
Cyanogen mod 7. Most stable custom ROM for me.

So anybody know how to Ger ext4?

NSCollab if you want many features, Its stable and fast. If you want speed, great battery life with minimum features get Oxygen, It's really good.
For me, it's a tossup between Oxygen 2.2.2 and MIUI (Brainmaster).
Oxygen is no-nonsense speed and MIUI is like a brand new phone.
I'm currently alternating between the two and will probably stay with MIUI until Ice Cream comes out.

i know that you got youre answer already. but, so that everyone else thats reading this thread, looking for an answer, gets an answer, the nexus s IS ext4 already. you dont have to do anything. the ext4 file system is native to the nexus s.
Miui is for people still in the closet. They haven't come out and confessed their gay love for Apple yet.

[Q] touch screen menu and back are dead, shortcuts to volume buttons?

Hello, as the title says The menu and back keys on the touch screen are dead, is there any app that allows to assign a shortcut for those keys to the volume butons?
The problem si not software.
Thanck you !
Download button savior it may help

Thank you, that really helped me.
If you are on a custom rom then I recommend AOKP. It has the bottom bar with menu and back keys. The difference being in button saviour , the keys are overlays. They will block some actions and you will have to close the bar to access these actions .
Whereas is aokp, the bar is effectively below the screen. So no hindrance in the bottom part of your screen.

I've been able to use wifi/3g/stillcamera/calls/sms/gaming on my phone using CM9 by dhiru. Recently I flashed REMICS, and those things work as well.
Check out the CM9 thread by Dhiru. It has just a few bugs(which are noted on the 1st post).
Solved, I installed remics configured wifi after that i installed AOKP without whiping data. everithyng works now.
Tkank's to all.

[ROM] - MikMiui ICS v1.0 - [Deodexed - Mikinized - Tweaked - English]

MikMiui ICS v1.0
v4.0.4 AOSP based off the Official MiCode v2.6.2.9.1
Features:
Latest ICS: Android 4.0.4
Mikinized (Optimized)
Deodexed
Optional v6 Supercharger by Zeppelrinox (View bottom of this post)
Highly themed UI
Replaced H icons with 4G icons (So we're not left out )
Fully Translated to English
Stable for everyday use
Overclock to 1.7ghz
Trackpad Wake
Optional Trebuchet launcher for those who don't like the Iphone-like launcher
Latest compiled 3.0.3.0 CM9 Kernel from upstream
Network speed tweaks
Not Working (As far as I know)
1080p Video (720p works)
USB Tethering
Any other bugs are most likely from MIUI v4 itself (like how you have to occasionally press the power button a couple times to get the screen to come back on in a call)
Other Information:
- It has been known that with the new v3 kernel, that if you experience horrible batteryu life that when you calibrate your battery it goes away. You can calibrate your battery with the MIUI Toolbox app
- Wifi calling has terrible battery drainage on this rom. The wifi calling app took up about 60% in battery stats (so I removed it)
- Confused? View the Beginners guide
- This seems to be an issue in all other CM9 roms with the v3 kernel. Occasional sleep insomnia, just use trackpad wake
- Miui v4 is still in its beta stages so be careful using some of themes in the themes app as they might not be made for Miui v4
- To use the included v6 Supercharger, type the following in terminal:
Code:
su
supercharger
How to install:

If you want a more stock experience, I strongly recommend EaglesBlood ICS 4.04 AOSP, build 5.5 with 5.6 kernel. These guys also fixed the data drop problem. It's the smoothest ICS ROM I've seen. Also, it uses the Aroma Installer, and supports both the OLD and NEW baseband.. it defaults to the OLD baseband when installing, so you shouldn't have any problems.
For this sweet setup, just do the following and you should be good to go:
1.) Install Build 5.5 zip through CWM Recovery - developer.clockworkmod.com/downloads/718/3127/egb-nightly-2012-07-01-signed.zip
2.) Install latest GApps zip RIGHT after that in CWM Recovery - goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
3.) Install Kernel 5.6 zip right after that in CWM Recovery - dropbox.com/s/p8z8sdy7iwemegk/eb_p999_beta5.6.zip
4.) [Added Bonus] Install Default Browser Rotation/Flickering Fix right after THAT in CWM Recovery - charlie.d-h.st/k7J/00010/Browser-rotationfixed-tonyp.zip?key=1343730743 (by tonyp)
The above links work. Unfortunately, I can't supply the nice clickable outside links until I have more postings under my belt.
genesis is pretty awesome, too. Tons of options, aroma installer, both basebands supported, CM9 and AOKP fusion.
My advice is try them all out. Pretty much anything on here is better than stock. See what fits you and your phone the best

[ROM] Pure AOKP

First I would like to say that I don't take any credit for this ROM. I am not a dev just simply providing the links to a stock AOKP ROM.
http://androtransfer.com/?developer=AOKP&folder=grouper
All thanks goes to AOKP team and their outstanding work!
Of course, I don't take responsibility for damaged devices, but this is xda so I'm sure we can get it up and running in no time.
- Includes ROM control (kang from aokp)
- Includes AOKP toggles
- Lock screen options, battery and navigation customizations
- Root with SuperSu
- Stock Browser
You will need to flash your own gapps, which can be found here ( just download latest jb version):
http://goo.im/gapps/
This ROM is basically yours to customize from the ground up so Enjoy!
1. Wipe data / factory reset and cache/dalvik.
2. Flash ROM then gapps.
3. (Optional) Flash preferred kernel.
4. System Reboot and Enjoy the reasons why we all use android.
Those who want tablet ui take a look here. All you need is a rooted nexus 7 and file explorer to edit build.prop

Yes.
Ok, so it did not boot on motley 1.1.1 but booted on Clemsyn's 1.8 kernel. Wonder what the deal is.
Can anyone else verify that this will not boot on Motley 1.1.1?
I just flashed motley 1.1.1 and it booted for me. Try wiping cache and dalvik.

I re-downloaded and got it to boot. Not sure why that worked as I was using the previous download with PA.
I do notice a little tear in the splash screen when using motley/Clemsyn, probably when the GPU OC is activated.
Also, the lockscreen battery percentage seems to be stuck on 100%.
I came from pa ROM too, just flashed both kernels, and lock screen shows the correct percentage for me.
-------------------------
When I first boot the lockscreen is stuck at 100 but after the apps load it recalculates and works on my device.

No problems here. Running Trinity Kernel wiht OC GPU and OC to 1.6 Ghz and runs smooth as. Battery could improve a bit but its still first build.
Love the customization options on AOKP!!
