I'm running MIUI right now on my infuse but I'm having many issues with it, and I need to get back to regular froyo.

Up to you, man. Completely.

Totally up to you, but performance wise either one is fine on stock.
Might be a bit easier right now to stick with KD1; Krylon360 will be releasing CM7 (CyanogenMod7) within a week or two.
Alright thanks guys!

If you are just itching to explore a bit, you can also just root your stock KD1 and mess around with that until a newer GB leak comes out.
kf2 is fun!
hi. i rooted my phone for the first time yesterday. i only did it because i'm new to this and i'm kind of a dork i wanted to see how it works. i also wanted to get rid of some of the stock apps that i don't use. what's the best ROM to flash for a beginner and is there somewhere i can find instructions on how to do it? i know bricking is a possibility if i do it wrong, and that's what i'm trying to avoid.
You can search for specific things, or look at the Bible thread. Tells you exactly what you can do with the phone

Check out the bible. Its very helpful. I'd stay away from gb Rom until you are comfortable with flashing.
Personally i like the audiophile redux and icbinb. Those ares smooth roms. Black ice is good but it's a little difficult to get running.

GB is definitely tricky, but fbis has a great tutorial on how to flash. GB starter pack

I would flash Valhalla the dev gave really easy instructions of how to flash it

Just wondering my brother infuse is on CM10 and he feels like he wants something a little more stable so I want to take him back to ICS ROM is there any precautions I should know of can't really search here well on my phone so if there's something out there already sorry .
CM10 is very stable. IMHO, CM10 and CypherROM may be the best. However, if you need to go back to ICS, you need to go back to stock and work back up to ICS. I would use Heimdall.

I have the Infuse and I just upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3.6 using kies mini and the update from samsung. Upon downloading it and using it for a few days I absoutely hate it and would like to go back to Froyo 2.2.1. I have searched and searched through thread after thread and I have found no solution to this problem due to the fact that you can not root the official Gingerbread 2.3.6 and seems like this is a common problem with no real answer. I have an idea and im no expert but thats why I am here for the help. My girl also has an Infuse and she is still running the Froyo. My question to all of you is there a way to use her phone with the original Froyo OS and transfer it to My Infuse with Gingerbread OS or does anyone know of a solution to the rooting problem with 2.3.6? Thanks for your time.
Read this thread and choose the method best suited for you. Personally, I have always found that Odin is easier to use.

I have watched and followed a few YouTube videos and receive the same result but like I said I'm willing to give it another go lol

Were you able to get this to work?

Thanks so much for the help I kind of feel dumb now. I figured out the reason Odin couldn't recognize my device was because of the USB cable. I switched the cable and bam it worked... thanks for taking the time to guide me in the right direction.

How do you not like gingerbread? Copy and paste. Smoother. More options. More apps work. Etc...
If you hate gingerbread don't go to jellybean they really rearrange the buttons on top of the new features.
Gingerbread made my lock screen not work properly and some of the features I didn't like so I'm running 4.0.4 and so far I love it.

I need help im tired of jellybean. Theres too many things not working for me and i want to go back to GingerBread. I try to flash GingerBread roms but it just brings me back to CWM recovery. Is there a way to go back or im stuck on jellybean. I even tried to flash an Icecream Sandwich rom but it just brings me back to CWM recovery. My recovery is 6.0.2.8.
You probably should just one-click to stock and start from there.

I don't think you can downgrade from an mtd ROM if you were using one. I think you will have to return to the stock 2.3.6 first, and then flash another ROM if you would like.
I'm using this to create my answer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/Installing_a_ROM
When ever I try to flash gingerbread it says my phone is the galaxymtd or something like that but I know my phone is the galaxy s 4g

I'll try that method

That means you were using an MTD ROM before, so you have to restore to stock. There's an easy way to do with the Heimdall One-Click
OK thanks guys I'll try that and give you feedback
