[Q] 3g motorola xoom a few questîons about rooting - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've bought european Motorola XOOM 32GB 3 honeycomb 3 .2It's my first android device.
I want to root it. I've read universal XOOM root guide. Is there a way to root my XOOM without flashing CWM recovery? If i will flash cwm recovery will i get update to ICS? I've heard that custom recovery may be a problem if i want to install OTA updates, is it true? I really need to root but i don't want to resign of easy installing official updates.
Thanks for help!

[Q] Netflix on rooted TF without Clockwork

I have a rooted TF without Clockwork installed. Is there any way to install the fixed Netflix app without CWM?
1. I don't know how to get CWM installed at this point since I rooted it using a Universal root method that was essentiall one-click
2. My understanding is CWM does not allow future OTA updates and I certainly want to keep this up today at new versions get released.
Is there a way to get netflix working without CWM? If not can someone point me in the direction of the easiest method of getting CWM installed on a TF that is already rooted?

[Q] Defy+ BL 9.10 ??

Hi all,
I own a Motorola Defy+ GB 2.3.6. Recently (sometime in April '12) got a official update from Motorola. I want to root my device, tried many tools available in this forum like Superoneclick, DoomLord, etc.. But these tools were not able to root my device. I read many posts mentioning successful rooting of Defy+ DFP-231 BL7.
When I checked my device BL version, it showed V9.10 (in the boot menu). I am wanted to know if I could be able to root my device.!
Since I am not able to root my device, I was thinking to flash the stock sbf with a rooted SBF using this method.
I want to know the risks involved in this method. If I flash a custom ROM without taking a backup of the stock ROM (I'm not able to use nandroid woithout root privileges), and something goes wrong, will I be able to restore my device to previous state (stock ROM) ?
Any answers/suggestions are appreciated..
Thanks..!

Install CWN on rooted android + remove updates

I have an Asus TF101 rooted with viperMOD on ICS.
I'm running:
ICS 4.0.3.
v.9.2.1.17
I have a couple questions.
1st: the viperMOD method did not involve installing CWM. Is there any way I can install CWM once I'm already rooted or will I have to unroot and reroot with a different mod?
2nd: The Asus System Firmware Update is annoying the crap out of me. I want it gone forever. Is there any way to uninstall it when rooted?
Thanks.

[Q] manual update firmware froj asus website and lot recovery e root

When I find out I wont receive any updte if my bootloader is unlocked I manual update the firmaware of my tablet. I was very dissapoint when I find out I had no more root permission and also the TWRP recovery seems to be gone. Is there any way to root back my tablet? Assume I'm little be more than a noob!

When you say manually update, i'm guessing you updated to 10.4.2.20 so if you need help rooting you can always look to the link below for help.

You have one app which is named OTA ROOTKEEPER. (This application makes a backup or a protected backup of your device's root. Your device must already be rooted: OTA RootKeeper doesn't have the ability to root devices.
If you are just rooted but always locked, with this app you can backup and restore your root.
And use this for root : [ROOT/ROM] Root Stock/Deodex Firmware 10.4.2.20 (US/WW) | Insecure kernel !
