Guys im from Philippines. Why is it there is no reader hub application in my Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus?
Sent from TAPAKING using Tapatalk
I don't know what reader hub is as I don't have it either here in the States. I use the Kindle app and Google Books for my reading. There was an ebook app that Samsung included but I deleted it as soon as I rooted my device.
Here in the States, it's "Social Hub" and "Media Hub". Perhaps you mean one of these two?
I would imagine if you don't have various pre-installed software it's because of legal or licensing issues in your home Country.
G.B.
And remember, talking dogs always lie.
I have S2 and there is Readers Hub. I can download newspaper there with payment. My problem Tab 7 plus has no readers hub.
Sent from TAPAKING using Tapatalk
Reader Hub was an oft touted feature of Samsung's Touchwiz suite.
Unfortunately we never really got it on it on the 10.1/8.9 nor on the 7+. Not sure on the 7.7 however.
I never minded too much as the only thing I wanted was Time magazine and Next Issue covered that for the most part.
The 7 plus has an app called Pulse......that should fit your needs.
Cheers
Dave

Hey, I know its kinda early as most of you probably don't even have the note yet, but I was curious on how the multiscreen feature works. Can you use it with any app or just Samsung's special apps. Also is the feature packaged as an apk in system app files as to have the possibility of being pulled from the note and ported to other tablets. Thanks, and enjoy your new tablets.

As for now, it only works with Samsung Apps.
Maybe a custom Rom can change that, or a root app.
I was wondering this as well. I'm hoping there will be some way for third party apps to make use of it, but I'm thinking that's probably a pipe dream.

Its a great feature but only works for samsung apps sadly
To make it useable for other apps, Google would need to amend Android to support a virtual split screen. As long as split screen is not part of the OS itself, it will remain a specific solution.
I think the apps that in the multi screen is quite good, you have the snote, internet, polaris and email.

To all that would like to see this in non Samsung apps: send a question to @Samsung-dev twitter asking them to publish an API for this. It may not help but it cant hurt. I for one would love to see a published API for this and the mini apps. They have one For S-Pen, why not for these features also. Should be a value add for their tablet if there were community apps that could use this stuff.
Thanks was wondering about adding apps with UEALI3. Would have been great to add ezPDF to it.
This ability is part of the touch wiz interface.. Its a propitiatory patented framework Samsung will not share it with anyone. Trying to port it can cause severe security issues as this is based on pop up notifications. This is the reason the cornerstone split screen software has not went very far. There was a big write up about this and the cornerstone software on xda tv months back. I looked and cant find it
Currently on ics it's only possible with samsung apps. But as seen with the Jelly Bean updates in India it's going to change to all apps.

Can someone who has it already tell us how the look and feel is for the split screen.
I'm thinking about buying it to replace my 8.9 tab

Hello.
I have a Galaxy note phone, and I was planing to buy a nite 10.1 tablet. But before I want to know if is possible to sync the notes on S-note application between the two devices. I think is important.
Thanks in advance.
It looks like all you can do is just share the .snb files between the two. Not very elegant, but looks to be the best we have at the moment. Hopefully future updates will bring tighter integration.

I used Dropbox, then paid 4.99 for pro unlock key. Perfect. Syncs both ways. Very nice so far.
I think you can use a feature on the Note called wifi direct to transfer things back and forth between the two devices. Give it a try. I don't have the Note phone so i can't, but I know this feature is supposed to work. Let me know how you make out.

To sum up answers, no. First SNore does indeed auto-sync. At least on Note devices. For integration, the SNote will not sync from one device to another. It sucks really, I have the Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet & the Galaxy Note 2 phone, no integration, hopefully that changes!

My note 10.1 and original note ( gt-n7000) sync well with no issues.
My notes sync between my note 2 and 10.1. You have to have an active Samsung account and be logged in on both devices.
I'm trying to do exactly that, and on my Verizon Note 2 it says under the Samsung Account "Sync Disabled" with no apparent way to enable it. It looks like a carrier greyed out feature. Anyone else seeing this?

Depending on exactly what you are trying to accomplish, it may already be capable via AllShare Cast. I can show my Note 10.1 screen on multiple note 10.1 devices, I think 8 is the max (I have only had 5 going, no more too add or test), but using AllShare Cast, the other devices would display whatever my screen is displaying. This will also work for newer Samsung TV/Displays, at least natively on their "Smart TV's" from 2012 for certain. Also, their is an AllShare Hub accessory that can be purchased to do the same thing on any TV/monitor/projector with HDMI input. It works with both audio & video & while the hub is a bit expensive for older tv's ($99.00 USD), if you register a Samsung device on the Samsung website, you get a code good for %50 off up to 10 items. I used the code to get the Hub for $49.00, as well as for a Navigation & a Desk dock.
It is great for just about anything except racing or fast action games. There is a small lag, nothing major, almost unnoticeable, unless you are playing a game where a few milliseconds can be the difference between wrecking or making a turn in Asphalt. For everything else though, it is pretty sweet. I use it for my older Plasma in the media room.

All share cast will mirror whatever is going on on your tab, it is like connecting the tab via hdmi to a screen, so if you run your app on note it will show on every connected device

I just ordered my first smartwatch (Sony Smart Watch) for 130 $. I have high expectation, because I believe this got a big potential.
Anyways my question is if there are any browser apps for the smart watch?
i dont know, but can you post here your impression of the smarth watch? I'd love to hear what it is
As far as I know, there currently is no working browser available for the SmartWatch. There are people out there working on it though. I found this app called SmartChrome (hxxp://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rza.liveview.SmartChrome&hl=nl) that should resemble a browser but it does not show up in the list of apps once it is installed so I guess we'll have to wait until this issue gets addressed by the developer of said app.

There is now:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.vaggan.webbrowser
Web browsing is tough enough on a smartphone (I have a Note II and I still find the screen too small!). Try it on your Smartwatch and you'll really appreciate your phone! But yes as the previous poster mentioned, if you must access full websites from your 1.3" 0.016 megapixel watch, WebBrowser for SmartWatch by Vaggan is the way to go.

This question is directed at folks who own a Note 10.1. If you were looking for a tablet today, would you buy the Note 10.1 again or would you buy something else? Why? If you would buy a different tablet what would it be and why?

In short: if I would by an android tablet I would definitely buy a Note 10.1 again, no doubt about it. However, having a quite decent laptop in the tablet would be nice sometimes so one doesn't have to carry two devices in school and still can run ie matlab and MS Office, so a series 7 Slate (also this from Samsung) is something I would really consider. But it's a lot more expensive and larger so using it for pure reading as an ebook-ish is probably not as pleasant but then again it's more devices in one combined with a small wireless keyboard.

Welllll,
I was waiting when I got my Note 10.1, then a really good deal (350 $US) came up on a refurbished 32GB model, so I jumped on it.
What I was cross shopping was the Samsung ATIV 500t, and the prices of those were down considerably, but after trying both in the store, the Note 10.1 was far smoother and a better experience than the ATIV, but the allure of running full windows Desktop apps (photoshop, illustrator, etc. )on a tablet is still there. The next line of Intel chips (Haswell, not the ones in the new G-tab 3) should hit the sweet spot of performance and battery life, and that's what I'd wait for, that or a sweet deal on the Note 8. The Note 8 is a very very compelling product, the pen is different in the 8" version and works a good bit better than on the 10.1, but the price is out of line from my expectations.
I bought the Note 10.1 for the features it had- 10" screen, Quad-Core CPU, 2GB RAM, fast Samsung Flash-memory and 3G connectivity (plus it's unlocked and there's kernel source available). For those specs, there's no currently-available equal.
That being said, once the upcoming Sony Tablet Z 3G/LTE comes out, I'll probably get it. I've had a chance to play with one of the prototypes and I like the form-factor and the fact that SonyMobile has released all the source already.
Every meeting I have when I start taking notes with my Note 10.1, I get asked about it and someone usually says "I wish my ipad did that"... There is simply no better pen input device on the market... yet!
I would wait because I would be expecting that a new Note tablet would come out, and this Note tablet would drop in price.

I would wait for the 5.0 upgrade if that is not just a rumour . or at least 4.2..... multiuser on this tablet would be usefull.
I too was looking for other new upcoming tablets like the new nexus thats about to hit in autumn or the xperia z that has sort of the same concept of multi tasking (refering to the floating apps that xperia home has) ; but i have trully fallen in love with the s- pen and multiwindow functionality and app developed here on xda !!
So for Now.. regarding your subject, the note is still serving all my needs in terms of performance.
The next note ( if there will be such ), will sure be quite interesting. The note 10.1 that exists allready has the cool revolutionary multi tasking concept mentioned, that not many android devices have yet implemented to be usefull enough for my user taste.
I'm thinkin that there are many directions to explore in android, that none big producer has explored till samsung started mostly .
Sure it would be great for me ...if i could run a vanilla aosp android 4.2 like on the nexus10 but multiwindowed... Even aokp and cm.....
Is should be possible in any device till now...no matter that version....theyre just teasing us.
I would consider the new Toshiba as that also had sd-card and a stylus but is super high-res. Just waiting to see how easy it will be to root. The resolution is the only way in which the Note could seriously be improved imo, but tbh I haven't found it to be much of an issue and I do a lot of technical pdf reading and annotating.
ASUS is currently giving its keynote presentation at Computex 2013 in Taipei where it has just rolled out the first of a few new Android devices, the refreshed and redesigned Transformer Pad Infinity.
10-inch 2560x1600 IPS display with 178-degree viewing angle
1.9GHz Tegra 4 CPU
2GB of RAM
32GB of storage, expandable by SDcard
802.11a/b/g/n Wifi
USB 3.0 port
4K video output over HDMI
399.00 price point and 499.00 with dock
The are also working on the ASUS Transformer Book Trio, runs Android "Jelly Bean"and Windows 8
It will have two CPUs -- a fourth-generation Intel Core i7 U4500 for Windows and an Atom 2580 for Android. It's also got two banks of storage available -- a 1TB traditional hard drive and 64GB of flash storage and a 1080p IPS display.
The Trio can be docked and used as a tablet or a laptop. But it also boasts an additional usage mode -- the docking station can be connected to a monitor to create a full desktop PC experience. So it looks like the Atom chip lives in the display, while the Core i7 likely resides in the dock.
All about android talked about it on there webcast this week. ( http://twit.tv/show/all-about-android/112 starts at 16:20 mark )
It looks like they are going after Samsung and Microsoft's business so you should expect a new line or upgrades from Samsung.
I would most likely stick with my Note 10.1 as I already know what it can do and I'm happy.
