Hey guys and gals. I have a problem. I was trying to flash a Tom and I have bricked my phone. I can still get into download mode by using a jig. But any time I try to load a Tom I get a blackish red screen and it just stays there.
I've tried eclare froyo and gingerbread one click installs and all with the same results. It happened when I tried installing serindipity 7. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try heimdall one-click KB2. It should work fine. just flash once, then check the flash bootloaders button to flash again with repartitioning and bootloaders.
Ok. Ill try and find that tomorrow when I can get on my PC. Ill let you know how it goes. Thank you.

So I went from red clocks work mod to blue clocks work mod. My data connection did not work so I went back to an old rom(red cwm). My phone was semi bricked but I was still able to boot to recovery. Since I was tired I said I'll do it another day. Now I can't boot into recovery mode. Can anyone please please help me!

Download GooManager from the Play Store. Install then use the left haptic button for menu. Choose the install option there and it'll choose the right twrp for your Skyrocket.
Installing any other way and your begging for problems.

lol because installing via adb shell or terminal like many others have were asking for problems...
but with that aside doing it through the app would be the "easiest" or easy mode as the app will automatically do it for you as oppose to just typing the command on adb and installing instantly :good:
I have a Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket for AT&T. I have been rooted for a year now. I have installed a ton of roms over this time period.
However, now, everytime I try to install a ROM I always get the Status 7 Error message.
-I have wiped the phone 3-4 times before attempting to install a rom
-I updated CWM to 6.0.1.3 (latest version)
-I have installed a kernel first before attempting to install a ROM
-I have used a MacBook and a regular PC desktop to download the ROMs
I did everything above to try and see if the different ways work, but nothing did.
Now I can't use my phone since I can't install a ROM. Could someone please help?
Thank you in advance!

Here are my few suggestions:
Might try using odin to go back to stock. The sticky threads around here should be helpful for that.
Have you tried TWRP? Or sk8r's CWM touch? Some people have better luck with one recovery over others.

Why? Its a question, and its not specific to a certain ROM.

It's weird cause I just started having this problem with CWM.
All you need to do is mod one file in a ROM zip called the updater script

What do I change in that file?
Also, why did this occur now and not before?
Take out the top couple lines involving the word assert and showing a model number
It happens due to ROM makers putting that in to protect from bricks there is normally a toggle in recoveries to ignore it
Edit: in the time its taken to make all those posts you could have Google searched and had it fixed in about 5 mins

Negative. I did a ton of thread digging, I know I can just revert back to original rom with ODIN, but I'd rather not do it. I am looking for the simplest answer so that I can create a thread about it for people who do not want to search for hours and complete those lucrative tasks.
Also, MOST answers are like yours; they tell people what to do, but if people don't understand the 'lingo', the answer is useless. People need/want specifics, and that is what I am trying to do in the thread I am going to create. People shouldn't have to dig in threads with over 100+ pages.
Thank you for your help though.
Google never xda search dude there is step by steps that would take all of 3 mins to find

OK. so i watched the noob video before doing all this i just wanna say i tried my best...
so i have rooted 1 phone prior, to this Samsung galaxy s blaze attempt. it was successful.
but this one wasn't so fortunate. i searched your forums up and down and maybe its because i'm "special" according to the video.
i cant find anything on how to help me unbrick my phone.... here's what i did....
1. downloaded odin 1.85
2. downloaded blaze.pit file
3. downloaded blaze-root img file.
did the process word for word action for action. step by step,...
and this is where i failed. i didnt download CWM i didnt download super user...
and i did all this over ICS, which i read in other forums stating that all the things i was doing was wrong because i was following instructions for Gingerbread. which i dont have because i updated to ICS a few mnths ago.. i failed i admit i am a nub... now i need a veteran of android Ownage to save me!

Once you've rooted and installed cwm from there just search the development thread for a ROM you want and read instructions in op and enjoy.. good luck.
