Whenever I have my volume for ringer and notification up and I receive a call the volume is automatically changed to the lowest setting above silent. Has anybody had this issue on their i727 or know of a fix? It has been doing it for a few weeks and I have searched for an answer for quite a while. I have the skyrocket ice cream sandwich rom flashed (newest version 6.9) and searched that entire thread and nobody else has reported the issue.
try flashing the 6.9 over it without wipe and see if that fixes ur issue i have 6.9 absolutely no issues what so ever.

Hello,
I've been a user of the xda ROMs for quite some time and i appreaciate all the work that's been put into the community.
Sadly, i have stumbled onto an issue i cannot solve myself, so i am seeking your help.
Description: When receiving a call and answering it (phone vibrates and rings), i cannot hear the other person, but they can hear me. (Speaker on/off doesn't do a thing, volume rocker up/down either). If the person calls back within a few minutes, i can almost always hear them and have a normal conversation. This does not happen in 100% of the cases, but in more than 50%. I have switched ROMs, kernels and radios (ATM i have CM7.1 RC, mar1x bfs v4,5, and XXKB3)
Is there any hope?
same issue on i9020t
I been having the same issue, but not quite as frequent, on my I9020T. I've experienced it with Cyanogenmod 7.1RC1 and NSCOLLAB (also based on CM71). I think I had it with CM7.0.2 and CM7.0.3, but can't remember for sure. The problem does not occur when I revert back to stock 2.3.4 rooted.
A somewhat related post in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188264, got me thinking. The OP had a similar problem on an I9023 when bluetooth was enabled. I've noticed on NSCOLLAB that DSPManager is running a "Headset" service. I do not have DSPManager installed on my stock install.
Can someone more knowledgeable tell if its possible this service could be related to the problem with callers not being able to hear me. FYI, my bluetooth is normally off and I don't use a headset. I'm back to running NSCOLLAB 1.3.8, but I've disabled the Headset service. If the problem doesn't occur for a couple days, I think I may have something.
dinuvali, is the Headset service running on your build?
Removed DSPManager earlier. Just answered a call where they hear me but I can't hear them. They called me back, all normal.
Oh well, rolling back to stock for now.

Thank you for the reply,
Yes my CM 7.1 is running the DSPManager service.
Also, my neighbour who has the exact device as me, but stock unrooted, has never experienced this problem.
Along with this problem of not hearing the other person on the first call, i also get the dropped call once in a while (not only after 3 mins of talking, but also while the phone is ringing and they still haven't picked up yet)
From all the posts i've read concerning this issue, i think it's mainly a hardware issue, but maybe it can be bypassed with some sort of tweak.
Major breakthrough imo
Pressing Hold (left upper corner) and then unholding will render me able to hear the other person!

Great find! Come to think of it, I never had it happen when I answered someone and immediately hit speakerphone, something I do alot when in my car mount.
I think I'll reload NSCollab, new version just came out today. When it happens again (unless they fixed it) I'll try this out. Thanks!
Sometimes when I receive an incoming call, I'm unable to answer it as the lockscreen is totally unresponsive to touch. This has only happened a few times but it's quite frustrating when the problem occurs. Has anyone else experienced the same?
I'm on a totally stock XE with ICS.

Hopefully U're using the Stock Rom...Am i Right ?
I had the same issue with the Stock Rom, But after installing Custom Rom i never faced any issue like this..
OTA ICS on an untouched device.
To be fair, I can't see myself wanting to root my XE, unless HTC decide that'll it'll never see the JB update.
Same thing here , tried viperS rom , cm10 kang pyramid rom .. The problem still there
Hey guys!
It's been a while since i visited these boards. Sadly I'm faced with a problem that may make me go back to some stock 2.3.3 ROM.
I've got the CM10 on my P500, used it for months, was quite happy with it (tho didn't really play around much with it).
Well, untill around 2 weeks ago when my phone stopped playing ringtones, making me miss calls when i was sitting right next to it. Quite annoying, tried changing all known setting that could cause this. It did vibrate on vibrate-only mode, except for that no results.
Finally today I got fed up with things, restored default settings and behold, now the phone doesn't even display incoming calls. Though they do show up later in missed calls. All of this is crazy :silly:
So, my questions are. Did anybody else get this problem? Any new version of the ROM or patch to fix this? Should I just find myself some old sure-proof ROM, cause I don't even play around with all the new 4.1.2 toys?
Anyways, I'm awaiting your replies. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Cheers fellas!
Hi! Until yesterday i was using Bytecode's ParanoidDroid 3.15 (nice JB 4.2 rom, thanks Bytecode!!!). Couple of days ago i had a ringtone problem also: the phone begin to ring, but only for a second, and then stopped (i keep my ringtones on my sdcard). I don't know the solution because i switched roms - for that bug and speaker bug - searching for a stable one. Now i'm testing 4.0.4 ICSPlus, and hope to be the "right" one.
Same prob.

Hi there. Actually i have this problem too. I flashed Rashed's cm10 about two days ago and when somebody calls me it doesn't ring. I thought that the problem was my phone, but now if there are more people with that problem I don't know what to think anymore..
Hi I am a noob when it comes to Galaxy devices and I recently ran into a problem with my Galaxy skyrocket. Everything works fine my camera crashes and reboots whenever I use the flash but I can live with that but my bigger problem is that when I make a phone call the other person hears me fine but on my end the sound is terribly low. I have read forums discussing this issue and I have installed apps like Volume + but nothing has changed I tried changing the APN but that did nothing so can anyone help me out there in XDA Land? I am running CM 10.1.2 and whether it was this rom or stock rom the issue was still there. Not sure what else to do
thanks in advance

Are you using the Ucmc1 radio? If not...use it. If the problem still persists whether you are on a custom or stock rom...it could be a number of reasons. Might be a hardware issue.

Thanks for your response, I am using radio UCMC1 I was hoping it was not a hardware issue but at last, it just might be. Its weird because when I am dialing a number the speaker is fine it is not until a call actually goes through that the speaker takes a turn for the worse.
Hi guys. I searched threads but I couldnt find an exact solution.
I noticed " pop and sizzling" when speaker in use. Did you notice that ? Not key pressing , not touching, only when speaker gets in use like playing music playing video, typing etc.(even in mute) I know a little sizzle is OK but this is to much and easy to notice.
I am sure this is not a H/W issue because i am used my O3D for about 2 years with Froyo and GB and there wasn't any pops and sizzles to notice. But I flashed ICS and there it is. Re-flashed to GB and no pops. I am on ICS now... It may accur by kernel or setting of levels/gain etc.. My opinion is , setting up these settings may fix my problem. So if someone helps me a little about it (sounds settings-test menu-gain whatever it is) I will be happy..
Also i will try stock GB sound levels on ICS if i can find values.
Sincerely.

Yes I had this problem. Especially it was annoying when I was using it during the night. Short buzzing sounds, sometimes stopped and sometimes started again. Mine's on ICS also.

Thank for answer. I have another question. I had poor touchscreen experience with v30a . Otherwise v21e is always perfect with that. Im on v21e because of that. Have you ever had that issue? If so , did you solve it?
