Hello all. Ive got to send back my Desire S to O2 UK. However, it has been rooted. Ive manged to put back on a stock RUU but the "Revolutionary" branding across the top still shows.
I also have the following info..
SAGA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.98.1002
RADIO-38.03.02.14_M
eMMC-boot

Now i have read and reread many many threads across the forums but just want the phone back to or as close to original stock as possible. I have a little bit of understanding about ADB and other programs but not a lot.
Any help truly appreciated.
(Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.)
Regards
Pete
Just read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1187231
It says discontinued, but further on in the thread users still give methods to go back to stock.
Ok, Thanks. Didnt read it as i thought the info would be defunct. Many Thanks.
Just wanted to say "thanks" again. Reading that has restored my Desire S back to its orginal settings.
Cheers

Look in development forum there is a sticky post full of stock roms along with an INDEX thread

It's amazing, the number of people who've made RUU requests in the past 24hrs. It really would help if people would read/search the General as well as Q&A forums for relevant topics.
On another note, one may state it shows the degree of confidence people have in XDA

Actually, any of your choice which suits your needs. You might wanna create a Gold Card first however.
So, basically, I want to root my device, and I got some advice from a friend that I should use HTC Dev (With hindsight, I should have ignored him), and now I don't know what on Earth I should do now.
Here's what I see:
SAGA PUT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 2.00.0002
RADIO- 3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC-boot
I have no idea what any of that means, as I am a complete newbie to this rooting business (My only other experience was using a Condi AllInOne tool doe a Sony Tablet S.) I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice, or point me in the direction of something/someone that would be able to give me simple (newb) instructions on how to root from this position.
Many thanks in advance guys.

Have a look at this post, it is a link to full instructions in that post as well. This comes from the "Sensation Radio/RIL files" thread and is just for Vodaphone users. You may want to have a good read through the OP of the radio thread as well.
Any solutions for o2 users?

Thanks for the links
So you are telling me that the problem is definitely from the radio/ril files?
So, nice developers of xdadevelopers, would you be so kind to help me with the issue at hand?
The problem is that whatever I do, I can not return my phone niether to stock Android 4.0.4 ICS with the RUU, or to stock Android 2.3.6 GB...
Help would be appriciated. All additional information you may require will be supplied, just ask me... Answer me as soon as possible, please...

You have to relock your bootloader before you can run an Ruu, adb oem lock if memory serves
"Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who its friends are."
And before that a very important step - using misc_version
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Now I have a few more questions....
What exactly do you mean when you say 'using misc_version'?
And please, could you just write the whole process in a few sentences, few steps?

There are 3 downgrade guides in the INDEX
I say "downgrade", because using the ICS RUU is not actually returning to Stock. It is a developer preview and you will probably get not the best experience with it. But if you want to use it the only action you have to perform is locking the bootloader as jugg1es stated above.
But if you really want to return to Stock (for example the latest GB revision) you should follow one of the downgrade guides. Just spare some time to read them and figure the required steps for your particular case
Thank you for your help, it was all I needed to get my HTC Desire S up and running again on ICS I got off HTC Dev site...
And yes, I pressed the 'Thank you!' buttons

Sorry about asking in the wrong place. But Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure which one is the appropriate for my device. i checked in the forum and i saw Vodafone Hutch AU.. downloaded the ROM and Flashed it but it would not load pass the HTC screen. it just stuck there.
I was wondering if it is because of the low battery. I'm running a batscript right now and its on 3647mV. Thanks for ya help man.
