OK so I'm going to ask again and I hope someone has a answer.how can I move my apps to my external sd, I am running out of space on my phones SD card. All the other apps2sd only move it to the phones SD. So is there an app that can move the apps to the external SD card. Or is there a way to do it myself

Just open the menu off your home screen settings>applications>manage applications
When you select an app there it gives you the option to "move to sd''
Making bad decision's one at a time.
You have to configure the app to transfer them to the external SD. What apps have you tried?
You said you tried link2sd, I bet you didn't create an ext partition on your sdcard or let that program make a mount script so it can allow the apps to move to ext. Partition.

I partition my SD usining cwm already. Now how do I do it using links2sd e

I did a 4090 ext with a 128 swap

When you start up link2sd for the first time it asks you to create a ext2,ext3,ext4 or fat16/fat32 mount point. You need to select the one you created(should be ext3 since you made it in cwm) so the program can create a external mount script each time you reboot the phone.
After that has been done you can either single or multiselect apps to move to ext partition. Since I have over 600 apps I batch(multiselect) my apps and choose the option "create link" which will move those apps, library files, cache and library files to my ext4 partition.
Also you will need to quick reboot each time you move any apps to ext so they will be added to mount script, you'll be notified in statusbar when this needs to be done.

I have a 16gig SD, but it only shows 3gig available on my second partition. How can I use more space on my sd.

I use a program called mini tool partitioner that lets me create any size ext partition I want( currently 10gb ext4 for all my apps with 1 gb left) on my 32gb class 10.

OK I did what you said and used that program, but it still shows as only 3gig .I appreciate the help, thus is the only thing I'm nit familiar with

Hi,
I have CM6 on htc g1. Every now and then as I install app I fall short of internal memory. I have all possible apps installed on sdcard using manage applications/move to sdcard option.
is there way I increase internal memory ? I read things like apps2sd and creating partitions on sdcard of type ext2 for it.
currently my sdcard is 16GB fat32 only.
Regards,
Miten.

Is there anyway possible to move apps to your internal sd instead of external sd?

EDIT: Disregard. I was wrong.
I've tried this multiple times and it doesn't work. It sends them to my external sd no matter what. I have been searching everywhere and I don't think you can move them to internal sd. Thanks though.

Okay, you're right. They don't go to the internal sd. Thought I had read that they do, and in the app manager, it showed them as being on the 13gb partition. Just pulled my SD card, and the apps don't show up. So, it would be nice to know how to put them on the internal card.
Alright, making this happen involves editing /system/etc/vold.fstab and moving the .android_secure folder from your external SD to your internal SD.
See the thread linked below. Study the first vold.fstab file there and make the same changes, and move your .android_secure folder. I did this and now I really do have most of my apps on the internal SD.

Thanks for finding that. I appreciate it. I'm going to have to try it later on this evening.

I finally tried this and I could not get it to work. I tried a few times and nothing.

Worked for me. You can replace your vold.fstab with the first download in that thread if your edits didn't work. Move your app folder using a PC, reboot, and it should work. This just swaps how the system uses those partitions. It worked too well for me. I ended up preferring the default setup since I change roms so much.

Does this do a full reversal of the sd cards? The reason i ask is because i have a few games that have extra data (mostly gameloft games) that i would like to move to my external sd because they will only play if they are on my internal. I have a 16gb external that i would like to put the game data on.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Yeah, this reverses the cards so that the external sd is seen as the internal and vice-versa by the device. So any data stored by apps on one card would now go to the other. This is one reason I haven't continued using this mod, but it may work for what you want.

i want to move my apps to sd external which method is best suitable or which script should i use.
Also what type of external partition and what size should be my swap size. I searched and found darktremor script should i flash that?
I for one, am using an 1GB ext partiton with 64MB swap size done in recovery. For me the 1GB is enough. As for the script, i just use Link2sd from the market. Set it to auto link if you want it to move all your apps to the sd, and you are all done.

I've been trying to use link2SD to move apps to SD card. The SD is partitioned into Fat32 and ext02. However, when I try to select either fat32 or ext02 I recieve the following message: mount script cannot be created - mount : invalid argument. What can I do?

This does not work on ICS and the question would be why would you want to? Plenty of internal memory which is much faster and bug free. App2SD is outdated for old phones that had very small shared memory.
I'm using JB. I only have 500 MB available in internal storage, so i cant install the best games.

Me too I had looooooooooooots of doubts but after I partitioned it today regretted every moment without ext!!!!!!
So I partitioned it through CWM 256 ext and 32 swap and when using link2sd it's exactly like apps are in /data(widgets...)
I don't know about risks coz I didn't face any
PM me for any question I'm ready to help!
I too have a doubt when I partitioning my SD card all my data in it will gonna erase

Yes, partitioning your SD card will format it and erase everything on it, so back it up first.
The point of an ext partition is to extend the internal memory, so you can load it up with apps and not run out of internal storage. This comes in handy on the ov which has very little internal memory to begin with. With an ext partition, you can use apps like link2sd to create symbolic links to your apps, so they can be on the sd card, but the "think" they are on the internal. This way you can move apps that can't be normally moved to the sd, or use widgets, which need to be on the internal memory. I, however like cronmod's ext scripts. They can be put in the init.d of some roms, and they will move your data partition, and/or dalvik, and/or data/apps to the ext. That way you don't have to manage apps like with link2sd. In a sense, it's like adding straight to the internal memory.
To partition your sd card, the easiest thing is to do it from a custom recovery. You won't get to choose the filesystem, but you can choose the size of the ext partition and swap. Keep swap at zero, as most phones here won't use it. Set your ext partition to ~10% of the size of the sd card.
If you want a different filesystem than your recovery gives you, you can use the minitool partition wizard on your pc with a card reader:

Is swap partition really helpful for low ram devices and O1??
Do we need to use any script to use of swap memory or is it done automatically??!
Edit: Good info about swap partition.
hope this can help you!

Actually swap is not needed for o1.Even on ics i have about 150-200 mb of free ram most of the time, and if u make swap partition u'll get even more free ram.But remember unused ram or free ram is nothing but waste of ram in linux, unlike windows.
Can make partion without formating sd card?
