Can't access cwm from Recovery - HTC Sensation

Hi, I have a problem with my phone i have S-off and cwm and rooted with Busybox and Superuser and Rom Manager. Was all fine untill i did a htc update for twitter, then when the phone rebooted itbooted into bootloader(even though fastboot was on) and now i can't access CWM recovery it boots into bootloader but when i press recovery it just vibrates once and gives white screen with green android man then goes back to bootloader. I have tried flashing cwm update with Rom Manager and did so with no faults but still wont aceess through bootloader.
Still says i'm rooted and S-off
Any help please?

Try downloading ext4 recovery from the market. Find it on your app page, and install the latest touch ext recovery. Far better than cwm recovery.
Can accsess recovery from your apps list then.

Failing that, back to stock you go with an RUU (NOT an ICS leak one)

Keep in mind some DO. I have been using 4ext since it's release, flash numerous ROMS and have experienced zero issue and it has all of CWM features implemented into it except ROM Manager which is pretty much useless and outdated lately. In fact there have been a lot of issues with CWM on the Sensation.

Yep i was a big CWM user up till 3 weeks ago. Been playing with ext 4, and have had no problem what so ever with it. I quite like the fact its theamable. And easy to acsess of your apps page.
And its flashed every rom ive tried so far, with an easy opption to restore only data, saves you having to setup your device 1st boot

how did you manage to get S-OFF???
The Team Win Recovery Project download attached above flashes to recovery and boots fine on an HTC-unlocked and rooted EVO Design 4G. This is without having S-OFF. I haven't tested all of the features, but the USB storage toggle works as well as the basic menu functions.
(I'm assuming the comment above about needing S-OFF is specific to the CWM project.)

does not work on locked boot loader.. tries to reboot into the flashed recovery then goes into the triangle of death....
The above recovery works on the htc hero s (exact phone as the evo design). Do installs/methods in this order: Root (2 scripts known to work), unlock bootloader tool from htcdev, then flash the ph44img file above from the boatloader & twrp recovery will be installed.
As grad said, I told him last night. Or should I say showed him that it works on the hero s. How ever since the op has to link to a **** site you can't register on for anything. Here is my cwm build working on the hero s and should be on the design.

Download the PH44IMG.zip that is on the first page of this thread. Inside the zip file you will see a file name "android-info.txt" make sure that it reads "cidnum: SPCS_001". This should correct the error message if you have a HTC EVO Design 4G.

Does somone has a updated guide for this. I have done nothing to my phone yet its running on the standard rom.

So your wanting to root, s off, and install this custom rom? To direct you to proper guide first you need to know your H boot version. To find your H boot version you pull battery, put battery back in, press volume down and power at the same time, a white screen with information will pop up. At the top of the screen will be your H boot version. Please list your H boot version here then we can refer you to the proper guide for your version.

I would install 4 Ext cause with it you can flash custom Rom with S-On.
just followed ganesh's guide.....
new to HTC Sensation XE (previous Samsung)
New to ADB/Fastboot (had nice ODIN before)
Wire Hack - not that bad
Just download all files needed and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Literally just did it in about 30-40 minutes. NOT hard, but not easy either
I did the S-off (bear version)(also did auggie2k CID mod) and then his one click root

Also, S-ON shouldn't matter as long as your bootloader is unlocked...the only thing S-ON would affect, is the fact that you would need to flash the boot.img separately, but that wouldn't cause the ROM flash to display errors your receiving...fastboot flash a new recovery, reboot your bootloader, open your new recovery, completely wipe, and try again, using 2.4.1.0 or 2.4.1.1.

Was asking bc didn't know if you could have gotten an S3 that way. I know nothing of the S3's except for processor speed is 1.7 I believe. But, if you flashed NRG it must be S4.
If you still have issues I would reformat sdcard, backup to pc first. I would then wipe all in recovery 3X to include System. Then reflash rom.

With the suggested TWRP I am able to flash ICS roms and JB roms (after flash zip I need to fastboot boot.img). The problem is that I can't get back to ICS roms with nandroid backup.
Now I am using Viper One S 2.1 but my 3G and HDSPA speeds are real slow! So I want to go back to NRG rom but if I restore my nandroid backup my screen stays blank after HTC screen.

Right now i am on HBOOT 1.14
I was trying differebt radios but i still dont get the 3g signal of my stock rom.

Yes, just like rugmank said there is a flashable zip called "Temporary Radio Installer V2" that helps you change the radio on JB sense based roms. It's great.
Do you know if I still need to match my RIL to my RADIO?
Regards.
Im not sure, I have always gotten satisfactory results, by getting the latest radio and even more so by editing the build prop this last one can change the speed drasticly do u have the values for your location and carrier?

No, that is incorrect. You are able to edit the system partition but not radio or rpm, tz, rcdata etc. with an unlocked bootloader but no S-OFF. S-OFF enables you to do anything and edit any partition.

I think everything you need is the relocked bootloader.
Yeah, the ruu will write the recovery back to stock itself. The only thing you need to do to run an ruu is relock the bootloader.
Keep in mind you will lose root if you run the ruu.
Thanks and yes i am very well aware of that and if he tryes to flash custom roms like Viper S,the phone boots just fine but there is no gsm signal,is it because of the kernel and can he use the stock cernel with the Viper rom ?

It sounds like it could be just a modem configuration problem. The first place I would check is: open up the dialer and type *#*#4636#*#* This will open a screen called "testing." Then go to "phone options" and scroll to the "preferred network type" option. Make sure that an option is picked that includes GSM. Be sure not to change any other options unless you know what they are for, this screen alters the core of the phone.
You also get to show off a hidden menu on your friends phone

It is my understanding that viper works fine with the stock kernel.

it happen because the kernel is with write protection i.e. u can change the system partition ones but it be rolled back to stock after reboot
to avoid this you have to install a custom kernel with write protection disabled like Bullet proof kernel by flar( it is shared in forum have a look)
Ok thanks im gonna tried it with his phone when i have time and guess what that menu even works on my Htc One X
And know i wanna know if his HBOOT 2.15 might be causing this problem, because i see that most people on this forum have a lower HBOOT like 1.15 if im not mistaking ?

HOX
Will it work on HOX with Tegra 3
I flashed the r123 for my one xl but it gets stuck on the htc logo. Can anyone help me please?
Why my htc one x sound is very low? (headphone and speaker)
I use a lot of roms and all of them had the same problem.
So the roms are not the problem.
You can fix this, openning you device an clening the speakers area and headphone (you can use a toothbrush and alcohool).
Hope this helps somebody.
thanks.
Help me!

Hi
I'm following xda for a long time even this is my first post.. I have installed Liberty's Rom and i am really very satisfied (despite the known probs with wifi, hotspot etc).
I'm wondering if it's possible for the Devs to develop a mod for the sense 6 camera (to adjust jpeg compression) like in sense 5. It would be very useful because i think there is a lot of compression in pictures (image files are only 1,5-2.0mb in average)
Thanks a lot again for your great work!!!!!!!

you need to disable "wake" option inside AppOps under google service.
it has been reported before and the problem is google services that keeps waking the device.
One X (tegra 3)
I see a lot of questions about rom version for international versions of One X with Tegra 3. I knew that the problem is procesor's drivers but somehow CynogenMode made a cm 11 who works on 4.4.4. without any problems.. I would be really happy to see maybe this rom available for my device but until now advice for anyone with similar problem.. I flash without any problem Blinkfeed app to my One X. Also install without any problems lot of HTC ofiicial aps and honestly enerything loks the same right now to me. And believe me,until few days ago my daily driver was Htc One M7 and fortunetly i broke a glass for second time and his reallity was wall of my room.. So, i now how sense 6 needs to look.. I hope that this will help for someone...
as i can see there is allready an ota lollipop update for M7..
