I just went back to stock. With the automatic time and date update it is saying i'm a different time zone. Have any idea why it is doing this? I manually reset the time zone for now.
Download clocksync from the market. It will automatically sync your phone to the world clock

I got a problem with my captivate. I was texting with a cousin and I accidentally deleted the thread. Right after that he sent me another message. I tried to go to it from the notifications thing and it took me to create a new message instead of starting a new thread. Now every time I send or receive a message I keep getting the notification for that weird message even though I clear it every time. I even get a notification for it when I open up any messages thread. Don't know what to do.

are you using stock messaging or voice/handcent/chomp
Try clearing your cache for the messaging app. If that doesn't work you might have to do a factory reset
I'm using the stock messaging application. How do I clear the cache? I wanna try that first before master reset.

I've searched everywhere and still no answer. I've had the phone for about 5 days now and starting yesterday I've noticed that this widget doesnt give me a location anymore. It always says "Current Location". When I click on the widget for a quick second it will say my location but refresh again and say "Current Location".
I have Mobile Data turned on and GPS turned on.
I've rebooted my phone many times, removed the battery and all of that stuff.
My phone is still Stock, not rooted or anything.
Is there any fix for this, thanks in advance.
This always used to happen to me on the stock rom. Try going into manage applications and clearing data for weather and weather provider.
Go to setting in the weather app and set my current location to an actual city etc.

i have the same problem yet
i flashed the same rom again and after flashing i got no "current location"
so i makes a restore -> "current location" works
grr i hate this f*ching flashing, after every flash an other thing is not working
Mine never automatically updated, if i wanted to up date I would have to do it manually by clicking refresh...
try syncing you weather with google in the sync device settings, if no luck clear the data in the app.... if still no luck get a 3rd party weather app
Setting your weather to sync auto should fix. If manual sync is selected it obviously wont update your location

One thing I loved with my N1 was the auto restoration of settings and the phone auto downloading apps after a reset. Every time I have reset my Skyrocket, once I log into my Google account, nothing restores not settings or apps. I just got a new Skyrocket (battery issues) and still no restore.
Has that feature gone the way of the do-do or is there something I'm missing?

i have never had a touchwiz rom work in that fashion.
some sense roms, and all my AOSP roms, but never a touchwiz...thank you samsung
Ahh, I was figuring it was something to do with how Samsung has the initial setup done on this phone. Little things I keep having to give up, just got to keep telling myself its worth it. Its hard though being so used to the Nexus line of phones.
I just did a full wipe and flashed CleanRom 2.1, and since then I've been having partial wakelock problems.
I keep getting LocationManagerService partial wakelocks that stay there forever (>95% of the time). The phone never goes into "deep sleep." I can't figure out which app is calling the service, and it comes up under "Android System" in BetterBatteryStats.
In the Alarms tab on BBS, com.google.andoird.apps.maps has 95 wakeups in an hour, almost all of them ALARM_WAKEUP_SENSOR_COLLECTION_POLICY. I haven't used Maps for anything.
I can make this go away if I disable "Google Location Services" and reboot, but that seems to increase how long it takes to get a location lock (I'm always on Wi-Fi).
Anyone have any ideas / experience with something like this?

I've had similar problems in the past and Latitude was the culprit. I also had LocationManagerService wakelock problems from the last update for 1Weather after they upgraded their radar map to GoogleMaps.
Try going into maps--settings--location settings--and uncheck the report from this device option

I just updated 1Weather and noticed the new radar...uninstalled and I haven't seen the wakelock since rebooting. All boxes are ticked in location services. I don't have a report from this device option - only VZW, GPS, and Google.

If you updated 1Weather then that was likely the issue. Same thing happened when I updated. I spoke with their support department last week and ended up sending them a few logcats. They sent me several updated apks and after a few tries they were able to stop the wakelock. I believe they are supposed to be updating the app sometime this week with the fix.
Try a different kernel too... I know one other person besides myself had wakelock problems with the kernel that comes with CM10 Official. I put lean kernel v0.9 on my phone and now my phone is sleeping like a baby when I'm not actively using it.

Yep, after a factory reset and no reinstalling 1Weather I can confirm that was the issue. Glad they got it fixed, the app is great otherwise

First, it sometimes sends me to the wrong place.
Second and worst of all, my navigation lady keeps saying the same thing over and over "turn right to xxxx and exit at xxxx" doesn't matter where i am going or how far away i am from home. But.the navigation map will show the right path/direction/way (most of the time) just the voice keeps looping on the same message.
I am on stock ICS. I've tried reboot, deleting and reinstalling the app, refresh, wipe cache, etc. anybody has this issue and knows how to fix, it gets really annoying?

ugh! would doing this increase my flash counter? i am pretty ok with my stock ics (debloated)... this is just annoying if anything.

Try clearing data from google services frameworks and data and cache from maps. Not sure it will work but it's worth a shot.

The same problem happened to me from time to time -- and it might come back again when I update my ROM. Clearing cache and clearing data for Maps was enough to get rid of the problem. No need to re-flash the entire ROM.
- First stop Maps in your Android system (System settings > Apps > All > Maps then click Force stop);
- Then clear cache
- Finally, clear data;
- Try again loading Maps/Navigation and ask it to drive you somewhere. Ear if the voice is still stuck on the same Turn right on main street...
If the problem persists after trying to clear data and cache, clear all /cache partition and Dalvik's cache in recovery.
Are you using TiBu?

Out of curiosity are you using TiBu, and did you let it reboot your phone on a schedule?
I ask because I have seen this same exact problem. The problem appeared to stem from a scheduled job within TiBu that would clear cache and reboot during the night. I killed that job, and then I no longer had the problem. However, I later went back and set up a different job to move apps to internal memory and then reboot. Once again the problem returned. I have since disabled all jobs that reboot the device, and all is good for me now.
Sign out of Google maps first...

I've heard that for persistent problems like yours that you need to sign out of maps and latitude, then clear the maps caches and data in both, then re-download ur maps updates from the play store. Latitude is known to hold onto a lot of the bad data and then re-communicates it back to maps.

hi, i use tibu only to manually back up and delete apps. beyond that I have not used the tibu any other way (i don't know how and have not had the chance to learn) however, i might check it too in case i toggled something that i should not have without knowing.
