I am looking at getting the wife a MT4G (no slide) and was just wondering if all the ROMS and S-OFF stuff will work for it just as well?
.
Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
The guides and ROM's for the Slide will not work for the MT4G. That being said, the regular MT4G (as long as you are talking the HTC version) has its own section with instructions for root and S-off and has one of the larger ROM selections for T-mobile phones.

My MT3G will be here next week, I Was hoping to get a list of peoples issues, problems, since rooting your HTC Magic/MyTouch 3G and what they did to fix it or not:
if you follow all the directions correctly, there really is no downside... its just as convenient as rooting the G1, just a lot harder due to the perfected spl and having to use the goldcard method... cyanogens ROM is what i would recommend for a regular mytouch ROM, only downside from that ROM that I could detect is that the LED doesn't turn on when the device is charging, which i'm sure is a minor fix...
i'm currently running qteknology's hero ROM and it runs decently, a little lag here and there but definitely the fastest hero ROM that i've tried on the mytouch to date... the only downside with this ROM so far is that the version that utilizes compache does not have working wifi
which cyanogens ROM do you recommend for MyTouch? The ONE ROM rule all (experimental one?) or the stable cyanogen one? I'm a bit confused in term of MyTouch, can it use G1 ROM or it has to be a Sapphire specific ROM?

typically if you flash a G1 rom onto a Mytouch/Magic it wont work unless you do some modifications to the rom, then flash it. But with "Cyan's ONE ROM rule all" it works on both G1 or Magic/Mytouch with 32B board. I'm currently running his experimental rom and it's working great on my Mytouch.
Start asking your questions in the right sub-forum (Q&A) (Theme) or even in (General), or i will be forced to ban you for 3 days or till you learn.
Thanks
Thread Trashed!!
can any one can put the cm7's phone on the sense rom and can use it ???
it is because the sense rom's phone are very easy wrong touch to end the call.........
i want to change it to cm7's phone on it.............can any one help me or share some???
there is nothing like cm7 phone or sense phone. You can chose whatever u wish to install in your phone. look in desire hd development section and read how to root and then install custom roms( custom roms = cm or sense rom) . you have a lot of reading to do . try asking questions in the appropriate thread rather then making a new thread.
You are kidding me???!!!
How many places have you asked this same question??
I've answered your question in the general forum.
Do NOT cross post.
Please consider this thread closed.
I have used the search for my question but i couldnt find anything (sorry if there is a thread about this)
i am thinking to root my thunderbolt and obviously jump on the Sense 3.0 rom, but it said the rom works great with the MR2 radio, i was just wondering if the MR2 radio is needed to run the DasBamf Sense 3.0 rom and if the MR2 still bricks the phone.
thanks in advance!
If you look at the sticky threads in the HTC Thunderbolt Development forum The third thread has a list of ROMs and the radios that serve them.
Be careful that you match the Froyo/Gingerbread radios to the respective ROMs. You mentioned dasBAMF, which is in section IIe of the post I mentioned. As far as bricking is concerned, just make sure to read through the radio download threads to make sure that others are doing well with the radio and PLEASE make sure that you check the MD5sum of the radio against what is offered for download.
So obviously I'm a noob to this site and the Androids. I recently purchased an HTC Inspire and left it stock for almost a month while I read on "rooting" them. I have since tried 3 different ROMs, CoreDroid, GB Sense 3.0, and Absolution 1.5. I stuck with Absolution because this is the kind of ROM that makes voiding warranties worth it. I just wanted to give THANKS to the Collective Team here since I am unable to post anything in the Dev area at this time.
HTC Inspire
Absolution 1.5
Kernal 2.6.35.14 LorDmodUE
+ 1 for Absolution
The reason you can't post in the Development section is because of too many inappropriate posts by noobs. If you took the time to read the stickys, the forum mods setup threads for each ROM in the Questions and Answers section. There is a thread for the Absolute ROM. That is the place you should be posting this and not starting a new thread.

Start by reading Qs and ANS section than read the features on FUSION KERNEL and VIPER S ROM (first and second posts) in developer section. They explain the shortcomings and possible improvements in hardware and software of HTC One S!
can you help

im on 4.0.4 trying to root but getting no were what is the best way to do this
There are many threads (both junk and old and good) stickied in the Development section that show how to unlock the bootloader and obtain a custom recovery and root. Then search the custom ROMs on the dev section for more options. Custom ROMs give you many OS tweaks, better performance, and better battery life. Check the thread's OP + recent comments to find out what each ROM has. I would suggest the Viper/Venom ROM or Axiom S. For a custom kernel, try Fusion. There is also AOSP (stock Android) for ICS and Jellybean (CM9 + CM10). Have fun!
I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 for root. ATM I'm running http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850917 Great ROM. You could also try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677 Worked great for a friend.
