First of all, hi! since this is my first thread.
Im a user from the spanish forum htcmania.com and i thought of the following. Maybe you guys can help. I asked over there too.
We all know that lovely yellow triangle we get when we root and modify our stock mobiles kernell. I thought that instead of removing it, could there be a way to change that yellow triangle into a different image? I found many pages and threads with ways to remove it but none to change it. (Yes i did search before starting this thread)
I am no pro, and have no idea whatsoever, maybe its a very stupid question, but if its not and other people like the idea maybe someone who KNOWS could look into it!
Thanks

Welcome to the forum
This was a job that could've been found by searching or looking in the WIKI, but I'll guess you didn't know the right terminology, so didn't know what to look for:

I'd definitely suggest making sure you've searched EVERYWHERE before starting a new thread on here in future, unless you like your backside flamed!
lol i searched my ass off. Although its my first post here ive been using the site since auguset and can do almost anything (except ROM cooking lol) but i just couldnt find this.
Much love for the help
:EDIT: I checked This one earlier but it doesnt explain how to delete the orange or WM splash screen i only wanna keep the HTC animated one and remove the other two
Search for how to change Splash Screen.

Afraid you can't delete/remove the splash screens, only change them. You could flash a blank pic as the startup screen, then replace the Welcomehead96.png file with a blank .png to get the same effect, but you can't delete them altogether.
ok thanks, tried downloading splashtool but whenever i try to open image converter i get the message mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependancies not correctly registered

Try asking your question in that thread, you'll get a response that much quicker. Try reading that thread too, you might actually find the answer w/o having to post ask it.
Remember, search & *READ* before you post. It'll make people that much happier
ok, I've had my fuze since the day it came out and didn't do a thing right, I didn't even install a .cab until about a week ago because I didn't know how. I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to this type of stuff, so I'm here now asking for help. I just did a hard reset so I was back to factory settings, logged into here and starting posting this, I came here because you all seem really kind and genuinely willing to help morons like me. So I'm here asking: what should I do? Would someone be willing to write a list of all the things I should install (preferable in order) and even give a link to the thread where it was made (so we can read about it and properly thank the creators) because no joke, I messed something up and I would get a message popping up every minute or so, I couldn't download anything or do much, so I figured I'd restart the thing have have some people who actually know what they're doing help me out and give me a list of things to do, I'm sure I'm not the only one this would help
special thanks to those that've helped:
none yet, be the first =]
honestly all i can say is, read this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410159

thanks, also, I remember hearing that advanced configuration tool 3.3 is a great thing to download, however when I tried to find it I came up short, is this something I have to download via comp, then transfer? Or can I download it straight to the phone? because I'm on a road trip right now just sitting here trying to get my phone awesome
Advanced Config Link
I searched on "Advanced Config" and this link was the first hit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070
You should be able to download the cab to your phone (or storage card) and just execute it.
Another good link for really getting your phone "right" is this one (which also has many of the CAB's you'll want/need): http://fuze.cassiebaby.com/
I'll note again, however, that you really need to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the search functions...most of the questions you'll have are answered (and you'll not draw ire of folks). And, per above post, spend some time reading the wiki's...
Hello all-
First post here, and unfortunately its because of a problem. I really want to root my eris, and all, and I detailed the whole issue on another forum, I am trying to maximize my options.
See The Original Post Here.
forum.androidcentral.com/ htc-droid-eris/ 11377-eris-rooting-issue.html
(just remove the spaces ^ here and ^here)
I have searched all over for the answer, and haven't been able to find it. I looked at about 12 different walkthroughs and none mentioned any problem like this. I did everything I was supposed to do, but it won't load the image.
any help would be appreciated-
Thanks,
Ian
ok- fixed it. it was formatted wrong. apparently only fat32 works- would have been helpful to have included that in future or current tutorials.
My first question here guys so go easy
I've flashed the Oxygen Gingerbread ROM to my Desire and as near perfect to what I want as it is I've got a couple of questions and you lot seem like a helpful bunch!
First of all, can I remove the 02 boot animation screen I get before my replacement boot animation launches? Not a big issue really, but I'd prefer it not to be there.
Secondly, is there a way to remove the GMail app, I prefer the generic Email app and don't see the point in having both.
I have searched around on Google and on here, however if this has been asked and answered else where please let me know where and I'll have a read.
Also, if any further details are needed please tell me which so I can provide them - still learning so don't know what else could be required.
Cheers in advance.
Edit: Should of also said, if you who know the forum better than me feel this would be better in a different section, please move as you see fit.
Hi there,
I tried the search function but maybe I did not use the right terms since I did not get an answer. So please accept my apologies if this question has already been answered and point me to the corresponding thread.
I would like to know whether one could copy the Samsung app SmartStay to another non-Samsung device. Did someone already tried this?
Cheers,
Anton
If I would like to code this myself, do you see any big issues? Of course, I need a phone with a front camera but are there other prerequisites? Has anyone already coded something like this?
