Does anyone know how to remove the orange startup screen from the kaiser it is now SIM free CID unlocked and using duttys wm6 custom but at startup i get the orange startup screen then the HTC one and finally the WM splash any ideas on how to remove all apart from the HTC one?
Welcome to the forum
This was a job that could've been found by searching or looking in the WIKI, but I'll guess you didn't know the right terminology, so didn't know what to look for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334907
I'd definitely suggest making sure you've searched EVERYWHERE before starting a new thread on here in future, unless you like your backside flamed!
lol i searched my ass off. Although its my first post here ive been using the site since auguset and can do almost anything (except ROM cooking lol) but i just couldnt find this.
Much love for the help
:EDIT: I checked This one earlier but it doesnt explain how to delete the orange or WM splash screen i only wanna keep the HTC animated one and remove the other two

Afraid you can't delete/remove the splash screens, only change them. You could flash a blank pic as the startup screen, then replace the Welcomehead96.png file with a blank .png to get the same effect, but you can't delete them altogether.
ok thanks, tried downloading splashtool but whenever i try to open image converter i get the message mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependancies not correctly registered

hey before anyone starts flaming me for no search i wanted to apologise beforehand. I did search, this is all foreign to me. I have an mda, interested in the windows mobile 6 platform but theres a few questions i had.
1 being is the processor fast enough to handle the os or is it gonna be even laggier than it is now?
and 2 is there any step by step how to guide from begining to end (with photos preferably), just taking your plain ole out of the box mda and putting windows mobile 6 on it. all this kitchen and cooking and frying, tornados and crossbow code talk doesnt make sense to me. thanks so much for reading, I dont mean to be a newbie about all this stuff, I just want someone who knows what theyre doing to tell me what its all about.
Welcome to the wonderful world of MDA flashing! Ok so you want to take your MDA and load WM6 on it. That is what we reffer to as "flashing, " so anytime you hear someone talk about flashing their device to "Core," "Pandora" or "Crossbow" they mean they are changing the operating system to that paticular "version" of WM6. They are all based off (more or less) the same WM6 ROM but just tweaked with some useful apps, and registry changes. Read about them in the XDA-Wiki page. As far as learning how to flash, there's a "sticky" (a post that remains on the first page) entitled "Howto flash a Wizard... a little tutorial!" Just follow that word for word and you should be fine. It's easy if you just follow the instructions and don't try to jump ahead. Good luck!
follow these directions.. and you should have no problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613. WM6 seems to be a big upgrade.. so i suggest it.. then take a look and see which new ROM you want.. there are many.. if you want just basics you want a Vanilla ROM, i reccomend ANTC's WM6 Professional 3.0.. or if you want fully loaded try Pandora (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310530) or Faria (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297762). give it a whirl.. and if you need help, don't hesitate to IM or PM me.

awesome thanks so much for your help guys. I have a g4 mda, and from what I know i dont have to CID unlock it. im just trying to figure all this out. I dont think its as easy as downloading the rom utility update and downloading the rom... theres a million different tutorials and I dont know which one is the most current or the best. keep the replys coming though i appreciate it.

The group does a pretty good job of updating the info as new stuff gets released. Like I said earlier, most of your basic questions will be answered in the XDA-WIKI
see my signature, that's how it should work, no need for CID unlocking
the only "issue" with an G4 is that you only can flash the OS itself.

IRM
cooool, so i got it flashed after trying a million times, but i finally found a version that works, I keep getting errors here and there. last time i flashed it was giving me a checkautorun.exe error. I just flashed farias rom, and when I was doing it with shelltool my mda displayed a few errors which i just pushed ok. also after flashing, i get a dos app thats cmd.exe that i just close and right after i close that, shelltool says its done. it wont say its done UNLESS i close cmd.exe. also having big problems with the contacts. every time i push the contacts button, it never opens. any suggestions?
just got an error that said unexpected error occured in shell attempting to restart.
Are you unlocking your phone first? It might be easier for you to do if you find an unlocking utility for a g4.. or pay the 40 bucks to IMEI-check.com
nope no unlocking. no more silly errors, the only thing i cant do is open my contacts, (or sync them) it just says a device by that name already exists on this maching and i have to rename or be guest. im gonna reflash and see if it helps any. now does anyone know if when using shelltool i need to go back to the original tmo rom and do all that hooplah or can i just flash it like it is now?
I dont understand why you can't open your contacts... do this.. check 'settings' in start menu under 'system' and see if there is a application called 'softkeys' if there is then click on it and see if there is a \contacts.lnk path under the 'Contact'
i dont see contact.
nope, looked in windows folder where all the other .ink files are, and contacts.ink is not there.
it's actually not directly in the windows folder it's in 'windows\appbuttons'
Sorry, I was assuming you looked directly in the 'windows' folder..
ok found it. doing a soft reset now to see if it works...
keep me posted.
well its still doing the same thing... i push the contacts, the start button displays contacts for a second, theres an x in the corner then it just goes back to the normal screen.
hmn.. thats weird.. what happens when you go to 'contacts' from your start menu?
same. well see. I really like the wm6 os. Ive never flashed anything or messed with any phone, so this is all very new to me. I wish there was someone else that flashed a g4 without unlocking it first... grrr. heres something funny, sometimes when I restart it shows the GSM version other times its blank... I dont really care if I brick this phone, last week it was acting up and tmo is sending me a replacement. this was back before i was starting to mess with it, so i got a replacement on the way. lets hope its a g3
Mine does the same thing, sometimes it shows GSM sometimes it doesnt.. Thats pretty common. Yeah I paid to unlock mine, so I have no idea when it comes to a locked device.,

LOL...
1.) Read Dutty's thread. Search for HTC Home Customizer....
2.) Read post #2 in Dutty's thread of why you have no sound Probably because you haven't upgraded your radio.
what about a working homescreen customizer?

i had the same problem...
1/ you need to use Total Command to move your HTC Home from the root directory to "Program Files".
2/ uninstall & Reinstall HTC Home custom
3/ Launch HTC HC and customize
It should work. Anyway, i just encounter a problem.. Your favorite contacts will be removed after a reboot.
oh well, need to do a search on this... good luck..
This one works great for me.

Try this for a search option. However even the xda-dev search should have yielded an answer for the radio issue!

is there a trick to getting the customizer work on windows 6.1 dutty
I hate admitting when I do something stupid, but it took me hours to figure out how to get the Home Customizer to work. I kept reading about how you have to move the Home Customizer to the "Program Files" directory. But it was already in that directory.
When I finally READ the post, instead of just skimming it, it said move the "HTC HOME" directory to the "Program Files" directory. I did that using Total Commander. It finally worked.
One small detail missed, cost me hours of research.
On the plus side, I did find some more cool stuff.
Edit: And I have the Dutty 6.1 installed

congrats on figuring it out. Unfortunately, I have been known to skim as well. Learned the hard way though. It's all good. Learning experience.
im looking for the files, or maybe even a .cab installer of the htc sliding sounds application. ive searched around on here for hours, and all i can find is the program by teirmann(sp).
That would be cool for the WM6.1 slider as well.
i just want to get the offical htc sliding sounds to test out stuff with. if anyone can get a dump of those from a rom or w/e, that would be great.
Hey guys, i just rough drafted a wiki page of how you can make your own sliding sounds on the kaiser.. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Sliding Sounds
also theres this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=382966
You can find a couple sliding sound cab's there. I created two one is a shotgun pump and the other is a golf theme i created for someone.
So head over there, make your request and if i can find the right wav's i'll create it for you. or go to the wiki page i created and see if u can follow it.
yep, problem is tho, i dont have a kaiser. ive got a hermes. i wanna just test out the HTC software from the kaiser for my own curiosity.
hmm dont know if there is a software for it, just some registry files.
folow that wiki page and try to create them and see if it'd work for u.. i'd try it for u but to be honest.. i have no clue where my hermes is.
ive tried the registry thing, im pretty sure it also involves a control panel applet as well... i guess thats what i want/need then.

you can rip it off one of the kaiser roms. should be "keyboard sliding sound.cpl"
i think u need to look for the trigger that tells the device to activate a sound once the screen orientation is changed.
awesome, any idea how i can rip the cpl file from one of the roms???? i have brief access to a Kaiser(friend at work), so if its something that i could get from the phone while its in operation??? or any tips on how i could rip it out of the rom?? btw, i know nothing about cooking rooms or anything.
http://tiermann.net/index.php?optio...cle&id=2:slidesound&catid=2:PPC Apps&Itemid=2
yep, have u bothered reading the thread at all??? first post i said i dont really like that one. i just want to experiment and try to get the one from the kaiser rom.
Hey, if you're still looking for the Slide Sound cab file PM me and I'll send it to you. It is the Native HTC Slide Sound app that came on the Mogul but it works on the Touch Pro.
Hey, if anybody still needs the sliding keyboard sound on their HTC phone send me a PM. I have the Native HTC app and made a cab that has extra sounds with it.
I hate the stupid US TMO splash screen that it shows when the phone first boots. Ive searched and have not found how to change that one. Is it even possible?
I agree I would like to be able to do this as well. I remember doing it a long time ago on accident but not sure how.
HTC Rom Tool, combined with something else, used to be the solution for other phones, but I haven't found a definitive answer concerning the Leo's--especially considering that there are essentially two different models out there, which means potential memory access differences.
I should explain. There was a tool that let you take an image (480x800px) and create a .nbh file. It's more than one tool, and I'm just not sure if these tools are updated well enough to do the splash screen. Actually, it's the boot screen, and it has to be flashed. There are two other splash screens--one is the very first screen you see after the boot screen, and is often an animated gif, and there's one right after that which is not an animated gif (although in some roms the animated gif smoothly transitions into the second splash).
The latter two screens are easily customizable and require only that 1) the image be 480x800, and 2) some registry tweaks to display them unless you copy over existing files. Other than that, those two are easy.
I'd really like to make one for the boot screen. I know people have done it, so if anyone knows, please post up on this thread or create a thread giving detailed instructions and links to the necessary files.

First off thanks, second ive searched everywhere. Will this work on a US TMO version, what with the different specs?

This does not, in any way, describe how to create your own splash screen for flashing. It's another "here's a splash screen, enjoy", but certainly not the tools or explanation for doing it yourself. If I have any luck, I'll post it.
Couldnt wait, bit the bullet and flashed it. Works just fine Now how to edit that with my own image??

Thanks allot this is actually the look I like. I really like keeping my phones looking stock to a point and this fits in great.
I used to do this on my FUZE. but is there anyway to do the same steps for the HD2? or use the same tools

cpiddy, how did you solve to change the ugly-white-T-Mo-bootscreen ?
can you explain it ? thanks...
Can anyone explain how to make a custom 1st splash screen. I have the file ready, in the proper pixel dimensions, and in png format. How can I use a custom RUU to flash it?
anyone can help how to make the own first boot screen... pls...
Ok i may be wrong for posting this thread but i have searched for 3 days to find a app to android my htc hd2 by tmobile. I'm no expert but i've tried every site i could to find a app. That being said i'm looking to add tikl to chirp and whatever else the android app will allow me. If there are any "good" suggestions please let me know.
Next i have loudtalks which i would love to remove from the phone all together, don't ask cause i wish i didn't install. Neither of my friends have the app which makes it dumb for me to even get so please guide me????????
Look on HD2 LEO area
I found a link that had a combo that flashed Chukky on the winmo side and installed Froyo2.2 on the sd It works without errors. There is one thing that is quirky about it you have to load every time you turn on the phone into winmo then there is a android icon and you restart to android. Otherwise, when it goes into sleep mode the phone won't wake up. The other thing I found was that the flash can get corrupted if you run the battery dead. FYI. I am trying to remember exactly how I found the flash.. I think I got directed to a link that was Chukkys actual site and then from there I found the link that provided the Android. hope that helps...
