I never saw this posted before, but imo was a big bug.
When you like say go to settings and slowly scroll say down, then stop for a second and slowly go the opposite way, you can move your finger poetry far before the screen jumps to your finger..... Not like that on my vibrant or sensation... Especially in gaming that was annoying especially shooting games requiring fine aiming readjustments.... I believe the sgs2 has the issue as well, like the threshold is off...
Anyone else notice that?
Also those calling me a troll stop. I still want a g2x when its a better phone...
YouTube video of my sensation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58bbvC78BR0&feature=youtube_gdata_player On multitouch test it moves very nicely when I stop and slowly move it again. You can see the sensation can move it slow....... Try that with the g2x and it will not respond right away but then jump to the right position....
Here's what I'm talking about but on a sgs2. This is what my g2x did and so does my friends... So i know they all do at least stock.. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?deskto...e.com/watch?v=sRXcBcpSD1w&v=sRXcBcpSD1w&gl=US

Mine didn't do this but it always takes me a couple of swypes to unlock it. Also, when scrolling, it seems like a flick of my finger doesn't get very far. For instance, in the app drawer, it will take two to three swypes just to get to the bottom.

I'm not having that problem either.

Was that on the stock rom? I remember the same thing on my phone when it was stock. This was fixed in other roms though. I've been using Ultimate and CM7 primarily and they scroll super fast and no problems on the lock screen either.
Mines does this. It is most notable in the browser it the xda app. It is annoying.

Its not an issue with the touchscreen itself. Its the rom you're using and the way it handles the physics of scrolling. I'm using CM7 now, and Ultimate G2X before this, and they both scroll a lot faster.
Mines does it in the setting but it doesn't bother me I had to try to make it happen no big deal just give me gingerbread

My touchscreen does not have this problem. Stock and rooted btw.
Please stop trolling the g2x forums. It is ridiculous that you sell a phone and then keep posting threads about your problems with it.
If someone else with a g2x has an issue that you dealt with and you have a solution or can confirm that they are not alone, by all means be helpful.
Otherwise, you're being a troll.

I seriously think you are inmature and your intentions of coming back to the G2x forums after getting rid of the G2x are not good ones.
Please, if this is going to be your attitude don't post non-existent problems of a phone you no longer have.

Whatever RaycerX09 issues are I don't know, with 4 posts he way off base.
There is a video on Youtube of a G2x with an early release of 2.3 which he give a review of.
He notes the problem of slow recognition on the unlock swipe. I have this problem in the all apps section about 20% of the time, slow to pick up and or not picking up.....have to multi swipe.
This sounds close enough to the problem in the OP. Long story short is the reviewer says the problem was greatly if not totally fixed in 2.3....he specifically addressed the unlock recognition, which should be the worse case.
This problem was fixed once I loaded ADW or Launcher Pro.
Some launchers change those things but stock did have a weird scroll. Its like it tried to scroll a page.
CM7 fixed that in one of the earlier builds. On the latest nightly it is smooth as silk.

Its not a launcher problem it does it on the xda app to
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Yeah mine does the exact same thing. It shows itself mostly in the browser, sometimes it can be quite the pain in the ass just scroll slowly because it constantly wants to take these big jumps.
Mine does it on stock using LauncherPro. The "rom" that affects this is the stock ROM, so it is LG's fault then Not even rooted
Those calling me a troll need to behave yourselves. Don't cry I was wondering if anyone has the issue cause mine did and so does my friend that I'm rooting...
Helping a buddy out and mentioned it , I remember mine had the issue... Don't get your panties in a wad .. tall ruining my high..lol
I've had my G2x since day one that it was released... never experienced anything like that with the touch screen - other than having to swipe more than once in a blue moon to unlock it...
Anyone notice any strange things like browsers stalling, might be wifi. I keep seeing this more often now. Stock browser is just about useless because it fc's all the time without giving a msg. Apps are doing the same thing, but they do give the msg so it can be reported. I feel like it is the new radio causing a power fluctuation in the entire system. What issue have you noticed?

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has found any solution to overcome the CM7/MIUI low microphone gain issue during voice calls?
The other party on the line barely can hear me during voice calls.
Have searched a lot and haven't found any fix except for the hit mute/unmute during call to temporary (only applies to that call) fix the problem.
Is there any other solution, like replacing system audio driver files from stock/other ROM to fix the low microphone gain issue permanently (well, at least till the next flashing)?
Never had any issue on stock Froyo or Gingerbread. However, not intent to return to stock due to this issue.
I'm on the July 15 baseband with Wind mobile in Canada. Currently using MIUI 2.3.2 with Faux123 048 kernel. Tried stock CM7, Trinity kernels, no go.
My wife has the same phone/system, however she is still on the June baseband. Same low Mic issue applies to hers as well.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

I would love for something as well, this issue seems to be out there for some others phones as well on CM7, i believe their intentions were to reduce background noise. Either way, if anyone steps in that'd be great. I have searched through build props, and system folders looking for anything that says "mic" I got nothing lol. If anyone has any thing they think I should search through I have time today so give me any ideas.

Couldn't agree more! I found as well that it has something to do with CM7's reduced microphone gain values to prevent voice distortion. Read about library file libaudio.so might as well "involved".
It is not that significant, however I'm using the phone frequently for voice calls and always mute/unmute is a little annoying.
I customized, fine tuned everything else to my needs and if this thing would finally get sorted as well i could lay back and fully enjoy my device (kidding, still would messing around with flashing around).

Exactly my thoughts, that's my only true complaint about CM7. People don't seem to realize it though I don't know if they are the type that always talk loud or what lol... but I definitely noticed and know its true cause I restored my 2.2 left my self a voicemail & recorded with voice record... and then went CM7 and left a voicemail and voice recording and it was crazy different playing through speakers and through earpiece. So I don't know what else to do....

yup, I tried GetRIL and tried all the different RILs (rebooting after installing each) and no difference. It's definitely something in the CM code. Somehow it doesnt react well with this phone's mic setup.
hope it gets fixed cause i'm never going back to stock.... soooo slow

Hi mt3g,
Read that you're using ICS. Just wondering if you feel any improvement mic/voice-wise compared to CM7? If so, which kernel are you using it with?

Part of this problem is the ROM and part of it is the kernel. CyanogenMod had this really bad at one point and they fixed it a little with a kernel tweak and then improved it a little more with a change in some of the audio drivers. So, it is hard to get it right. I have not really ever had this problem and I have been running MIUI GB based with the Trinity Kernel by Morfic (if that helps anyone).
Ya all of what I presumed it seems to be a hit or miss but it isn't just the g2x, which made me believe that it really is an issue even though people don't have it. I don't talk loud on the phone but maybe I need to start lol... either way willing to deal with it... p.s. I had the issue on all miui roms all kernels no matter what I tried.

and leave your feedback for the CM team. Hopefully it well be sorted.

Has anyone experienced any issues with playback? it's not laggy but slows down at one point (about 2 seconds of video) then speeds up to catch up. It's not too obvious, my sister didn't even notice it. I've also tried playing back recorded videos and streaming movies from the browser with no issues. I've also tried uninstalling updates and reinstalling YouTube app..with no success. Hopefully someone can help, or maybe I should try one of these new roms...hmm?

This is my only issue with this phone; everything works great except youtube playback. The lagging then catching up is really noticeable and distracting. I thought it was my network connection for the longest time, I'm so glad it's not just me. It's kind of ridiculous, this device should be able to handle a simple youtube video. I'm glad I know now at least I didn't get a defective phone. Hopefully someone somewhere will be able to come up with a fix/mod for this. I never would of purchased this phone if I knew I couldn't properly watch a youtube video. :/
Really sucks...I feel you.

Don't have this problem either. Even when playing HQ. If it slows down than it's the data, not playback quality. I do notice that this stock ROM is slower with download speeds. My G2x is faster when downloading content and it's only 14 Megabits per second, theoretically.

Ah, never mind! I now understand. I noticed it when I selected to play a different time duration of the video. It slows down, and catches up. I thought you meant that you noticed it during the beginning of the video. For me it only happens when you skim to a different part of the video. I also compared it using Google Chrome on my PC, and there is definitely a difference.

Do you know if it's coming from the speaker or the camera hardware. I don't hear a click on my phone so it could be the hardware itself coming lose. I turned on sound feedback to see if it clicked when opened and no sound either. Not sure what it could be. But if the camera is failing the worse that will happen is you will no longer have a camera. It's not dangerous in anyway I know of.
It doesn't do it on your vanilla stock, revolution hd, or cyanogen. As a matter of fact, after a restore, I just checked it, and it isn't doing it anymore. Weird. Maybe been a random glitch. I had to reboot several times to get the lock screen shortcuts you work. Not sure what was up with that.

If it were my phone, wouldn't it be doing it on other ROMs (it doesn't do it on your rooted stock)? And it's not coming from the speaker: I've isolated the click to the actual camera. Is there a way to remove or disable the camera upgrade and see if that's what my phone doesn't like here? Otherwise, the ROM is perfect. My fave so far: revolution 7.0.4 just doesn't "feel" as solid to me.

That's the thing there is nothing that I did to the camera. It's complete stock and your the only person out of over 500 downloads that has mentioned this. If it was an issue then I would be getting more than one report. I also am using the same version and hear no click. The only thing that may be the cause is the kernel I am using but I don't see how. If you want, flash the bd ace kernel and see if it still happens. It could be a combo of a failing camera and the kernel I'm using. I don't think your crazy I just think there is something unique happening here. Wish I could be more help but without the device in my hand I can only make guesses.

I'm gonna try redownloading your ROM, checking the md5 (is that necessary or just on radios?), in case I got a corrupted download first. Your work is awesome, believe me. I really like this ROM. I just noticed that click noise, but the camera works fine. If that doesn't work, I'll try the kernel you mentioned next. If all else fails, I'll take it down to vanilla stock. Thanks so much for your trouble.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda app-developers app
Ok, so nothing made a difference. It only makes the noise about 50% of the time. I googled it, and could only find a couple of Android Central posts about the same problem. You're 100% right: IT ISN'T THE ROM. Mine now does it in stock too. However, the others who posted it happening stated it was either "normal" or "it isn't hurting anything. Camera works fine months later." That gives me relief. Sounds like it's probably just old age. Some moving part getting crusty or something. Cool. Thanks for your input, giz.
