anyone know how to get rid of the "Charging Complete" dialog?

Who the hell thought this would be useful? SO what, charging is complete, carry on goddam it.
Anyone know how to turn this off?

Yeah, that's kind of annoying -- I charge my phone every night while I'm asleep, and with that dialog on the screen, the volume buttons don't function as a "snooze" request for the alarm clock, so I have to pick up the phone to clear the dialog before I can respond to the alarm. Not convenient.

Anyone???
I am having this issue also....other droid phones have the secret menu access to turn this off....I cannot find it on this phone.

I hate it as well. Hoping someone knows how to stop it. I've found turning the phone face down helps. I'm a light sleeper and even that little bit of light bothers me.

Fix: flash a non-LG rom. CM7, Faux, xboarder, birgertime. I would imagine they all do not include this dialog since they're AOSP roms.
On a side note, I've seen a hidden menu accessible through a custom shortcut with ADW Launcher. Just search the forums for details. As to weather it's an option in the hidden menu, no idea.

I've gone through all the options in the hidden menu thing, can't find anything about this dialog anywhere.
I hate it at least twice as much as all of you do, and probably twice as much as any other person on the planet since my phone sits in a dock next to my face all night, Alarm Clock Plus dims the screen when in the dock, until that damn dialog pops up and the screen pops back to somewhere near as bright as the sun, like clockwork, at 3am every day until i click "ok".
I'm very close to installing CM7 to get rid of it (and also try that new uv kernel that's supposed to get you a full day on a battery)... but i'm really trying to hold off until we get an official GB release for them to build CM7 off of.

Seriously! It's unbelievably annoying things like this that make me wonder if phone developers even use the phones or even any other smartphones themselves! Because I can't understand why they'd do things like this if they did!!

Just install CM7. lmao. Why do you guys torture yourselves?
The Stock LG roms are horrible. You can flash a CM7 while you wait for the official GB rom to hit.
There is no winner for who can hold out the longest using G2x stock software.

I had CM7, I went back to Eagles blood froyo rom for the Lg camera, and the hdmi out feature. I use it at home all the time.

^ AGREED ^ Just flashed to CM7 yesterday with the help from some great members here. And it ROCKS. And I dont have to hear that stupid arse thing anymore saying "Excuse me...your battery is full charged., take it off the charger now dumbass or you will risk turning the world into a barren wasteland".

I'm holding out because of the a2dp issues. I use bt audio in my car everyday... I do have the option to use the headphone jack, but that's a bit of a pita.

I cave"d" (and came around)

I really can't take the quality control issues any more. I think I am going to try and get a Sensation. I really love the phone, I just can't take the battery over heats, and the screen bleed, and the horrible battery life. I know there will be an impending Gingerbread update that will hopefully fix 2/3 main gripes I have with the phone, but it has still left a bad taste in my mouth. I know that HTC never has this bad of a problem with their phones. I think I am going to try and get a replacement for the Sensation through T-Mobile. If I can't I will deal with warranty replacements until I get a good G2x.
Anyone else starting to feel this conclusion?
I am getting a warranty replacement, and that will be the determining factor for my decision.

Thanks, I know this post won't do well here, but I am really fed up. I have never had a phone with this many out of the box problems. Plus replacements with the same problems! I really want to give this phone a 2nd chance, but its an up hill battle. The power behind this phone is smudged by the short battery life and the overheating issue when charging. I am hoping the replacement I get isn't the same thing as the one I have currently.

What apps do you have on your phone?

Tons, but I have had mostly the same apps since I have had the G2, and I am sure they have nothing to do with this.

Do you have the o2x notification app? I deleted that and reboots stopped... Sounds weird but it is true...

Well, I depend on that app to. . uh notify me haha. I really don't want to have anxiety and check my phone every five min. Sometimes I cant feel the vibrate so I won't respond for hours if I don't know I have a text LOL, and that's a no no to my GF.

Same here. That app chewed through the battery like nothing else, even with the LED brightness turned down. Caused all kinds of reboots and whatnot. Deleted it and all issues with my phone disappeared instamagically.

So keep your GF happy, and deal with the reboots... Oooooooor fix your phone, keep it and stop obsessing over text messages... Oooooooor try the new notification app that is in the themes and apps section, keep the phone, make your GF happy and save the world...

I keed I keed. +1 with the notification app, deleting that made my life better. Screen bleed is something I understand too, but that's why I like the notification bar mod sonnysekhon posted in his CM7 themes. Makes the bleed look normal at least until I play a movie or something. Other than that I'm happy. Good luck if you go for the sensation.

For me its not just screen bleed, its the overheating issue as well, and the poor battery life(yes even with out the app).

Flash faux's 1.2.2 and his 1.9 kernal. It's been rock solid for me. My battery's been off the charger for 10hrs now and its at 57%.

It doesn't matter that you have had your apps since the G2. Apps will act differently from device to device. For instance. I have always had the NFL Mobile app and when I put it on my G2X, it was causing it to overheat and was killing the battery big time. It would drop 10% ever 15 minutes while at idle. The very second I deleted the app, everything went back to normal.

Won't hear any flack from me. I am getting the Sensation as well but I don't know if I am going to give it to my wife or give her the G2X. Either way, which ever one I decide on is hitting the bricks once the Hercules gets here. I already purchased the Sensation and returned it the same day due to over heating, freezing and reboots. Seems like every phone now adays ships with bugs and it's like playing a lottery in order to get a bug free one. Looking over in the Sensation forum isn't to promising considering all of it's own problems.
O well. I'll wait until the Sensation gets released from T-Mobile so I can return it as many times I need to like I did with my G2X. I had to return 3 in order to get a perfect device with absolutely no bugs. I don't settle for bugs on my phone and I wouldn't expect anyone else too.

But I don't have any app like that I am sure, I checked battery history nothing is really out of the ordinary. The only one that I would think is the LED notifier since it has the most use.

I'm with you, I find myself saying "I hate this blasted phone" everyday now. Would be a great phone if it was reliable, but it's not.

Apps certainly do have a lot to do with the rebooting issues that some people are having. My phone has only rebooted maybe once and it was because of an app. Removed the app and no more rebooting. Replacing the phone will do nothing if you continue to use it the same way and don't do any actual troubleshooting yourself.

Not sure which LED notification app you're using but the one I'm using hasn't caused me any reboots or battery drain (could just be my device but I'm not sure). It's called LG 2x/Black Notifications, made to be used both for the G2x and O2x

There certainly has been a lot of negativity thrown at the G2X as of late. One wonders if it's just the very vocal minority who are doing most of the complaining or are the majority of people really dissatisfied with this device. So lets get quantitative with this and find out which it really is. Let's try and keep the moaning and groaning down and let the numbers speak for themselves.
The choices are simple, either you are or are not having issues with the device. I threw in a trick question for the spam bots

I voted that I have issues, but I won't be returning it. Love the device, it just needs to go from 'walk' to 'run', and I am of the belief that these issues are all software related.

I haven't had a problem before. The only thing is that my phone reboots if I undervolt too much, but that's my fault. I have since fixed that problem and the phone is flawless, except for some screen bleed.

I came from the HD2. It was a great phone but I love my new G2X.
The only problem I'm having is some light bleeding from the corners on the top. It's noticeably faster and much more capable for gaming.

I'm having all the issues everyone else is having plus I can't use a lot of Faux's kernels/ROMs.
HOWEVER, I love this phone. It really is amazing.
My one question is whether anyone thinks I can get a refurb since my chip is 'inferior'. haha

No issues here. No reboots, screen bleed etc..no problems when I was running stock I'm running ultimate rom now OC 1.5ghz blows any phone out the water. People complaining are just **** out of luck lol

I was thinking about the sensation but my g2x got 3000+ score on quadrant and the sensation only got like an 1800 they say cause of the higher screen resolution but I think my phone is just faster. By the way no issues here

No issues whatsoever unless you consider NOT being able to select something until the scrolling stops. Screen bleed...really? Never even seen a pic of that mythical issue. My phone doesn't even get warm let alone hot. As for battery....at first perhaps...but once i reconditioned the batt, I get a full day (15-17 hours) of use from a full charge.
I have had the HD2 (sucked) and the Vibrant (rocked) and this phone smokes both...hell my boss' iphone 4 can't touch this.
Perhaps I have really good luck with phones aside from that lame duck HD2.

Did you root and throw android or even a custom windows rom on your HD2? The HD2 is a damn good device (in its time of course). Most def the most versatile. But the G2x is THAT next step. Lovin mine!

Great phone! Had two reboots in as many months so not a big problem at all and the screen is phenomenal. The screen is as good if not better than the super amoled screens I've seen.

Love the phone! CM7 + Faux kernel ftw! Have mine set to 1.3ghz and default underclocking. No issues with the phone! Battery life is consistently around 30 hours on light useage!

Love it. It reboots very seldomly. Very horrid battery life tho, only way to make it thru tha day is to turn the internet off or stick to wifi. Using the internet off wifi murders this phone. Oh yeah, and the idle usage is terribad

Had phone for one week, no longer recognizing fast swipes.

For the first week, I could do a fast swipe across my home screen to get it spinning. Worked 100% of the time. As of yesterday, it literally no longer recognizes these swipes. It won't move at all, or sometimes it will think I clicked on an app instead of swiping.
Same thing applies to the lock screen. I have to slowly bring up the ring to unlock. Extremely irritating.
What saddens me is this happened on my first phone as well after about a week (exchanged that phone because of dust). Looks like it wasn't just that phone.

Same thing happened to me. Seems like after a week things get funky. Probably just some crappy software coding because the Evo3d doesn't have that problem at all.

Hopefully that OTA coming out fixes the problem, or else I might return it for good and wait on another phone.

I had it for 9 days. No problems with touchscreen. And check the "touchscreen not responsive" thread for possible solution

Mine was like this from the start and I couldn't unlock the screen 75% of the time. Yesterday for no reason my screen is normal and the lockscreen works every time.

Seems like a grounding issue, but we don't exactly know what's causing the problem. It works sometimes, doesn't work others.

This really sucks. Just the other day I could get it to spin with one swipe. It's impossible to do with any amount of swipes now.

I have to double swipe to get it to work. I have to kill all the running processes in the quick settings first.

What's the point of the carousel super spin? Mine doesn't do it unless I hit it just right, but in my eyes its a total novelty.

Agree, not just useless but a waste of time if you trigger it accidentally. Sense REALLY needs a "performance" setting that disables all the animation crap, like Windows has. That sliding home screen after unlocking is also really silly. I want snap, not spins and gradual fades. If they want to make everyone happy they need to maximize customization.

I'm on my 2nd Sensation and after a week with the second one I am experiencing the unlock issue. I think I'm going to exchange for a SGS4G. Sucks because I absolutely love the phone otherwise.

I just use it as a way to make sure my screen is still responsive. I couldn't care less about anything else about it.

Yes we all agree that the effect itself is not important. But it shows the responsiveness of the touchscreen. If you cant get it to spin, your phone feels like ass when you swipe things.Well hell not just swiping, anything touch related. I removed my sim card, battery and SD card to take it back and exchange it and all of a sudden it started working great. Has been flawless for the past few days, real happy! until today.. I left it on the roof of my car and it hit the road at about 55 and got ran over multiple times. I couldn't find it when i went back to try and save my sim for the trusty N1 but my Bluetooth earpiece came on when in the vicinity and i actually got a phone call when i was waiting to cross the road to pick up the carcass. Had to use the BT though unlocking on the screen would slice your fingers open. So now i'm back to a non responsive touchscreen! DAMMIT! I finished it off prying it open to get the sim, battery and SD card out. Asurion replacement to be here Friday.

I didn't even wait an hour like it said. Turn off your phone, take the battery out, put the back cover back on, hold the pet button for like 15 seconds then Open it up and put the battery back in and turn it on. Worked for me!

That process didn't work at all for me. Left the battery out for just over an hour. All screen issues of being unresponsive are still there. No fast scrolling and lockscreen issue getting quite bad. Can't get carousel at all anymore. And it takes about 5 tries to unlock lockscreen.

Why does the G2x show the previous screen before the lock screen?

no, i am not new here, just had to change username.
yes, i have check EVERYWHERE for a solution to this problem.
Basically my g2x will show the previous screen i was o before it will show the lock patter screen. Say im on the facebook, and i lock my device, if i come back to it and unlock the device, for like 2 seconds it will show what ever page i was on last on facebook THEN go to the lock pattern screen.
is there anyway to fix this?

Came stocked with gingerbread 2.3
has being doing this since unboxed

Haven't had this issue since moving over to CM7...

Known issue no fix, other than trying a different rom. What really sux if you tap before the lockscreen comes up you fan bypass the lockscreen. Doesn't always work.I'm still on froyo, gb ....not impressed.

Its because the lockscreen is an app and sometimes it lags to start up when you unlock your phone.

I thought it was part of the phones software.

I think it is because the GPU is turned off to save battery and the graphics ram is not being updated. The lag is the GPU starting back up. That screen is like a ghost image. I don't believe anyone who says they can click on an icon before the lockscreen comes up and bypass it. I would have to see a video to believe that.

Happens to me too. EB 1.07. Also, sometimes when I press the power button the lockscreen is bypassed. This happens once in a while.

Weapon 2.7 seems to have fixed the issue. It drove me crazy on stock and EB.

Any newer rom from development I don't experience this problem
