Hi.
As stated in topic! Went stock RUU, but now I cant get in recovery mode to install a ROM from .zip file!
Help!
HBOOT: 1.23
Have tried the firmware flash - no luck!
Any clues?
you are un-rooted with a stock ruu rom, you hav to install recovery + root again.

This is the guide I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
Apparently I need 4EXT to install ARHD. So since I followed steps 1-4 and have S-off, CWM, root and Super-CID, will it be ok to install 4EXT touch even though I already have CWM installed?
Yep, get the 4EXT app and it will install the Recovery
Yes, it will overwrite the CWM.

Thanks for all the answers I think I will most likely stick with the stock rom tho just because I like the Gingerbread look better than the ICS look. And If I do want to upgrade to ICS It will still be available to me.
You can go ARHD gingerbread. And it will definitely run super fast than the stock.

Hmm Well is their a high chance of a brick or my phone being stuck at reboot? That is my problem with custom roms. I had a Motorola Defy and 2 out of 7 times the rom I installed actually worked. This is a brand new phone and I really dont wanna have to ask T-mobile for a replacement in the first month of use :x
Check out this thread if you need further help flashing 4ext touch recovery (use 4ext recovery touch flashing tool posted). Also there are the guidelines to update to an ICS ROM
[GUIDE][MAR.12.12] How to flash ICS 3.32 firmware and ARHD 6.5.x ICS ROM

Stuck in reboot? Is it like the phone is keep on restarting? Like a loop?
If that's the case, then the rom is not compatible with the firmware or vice versa. There is a specific firmware version that you can use for specific roms, its usually indicated on the OP of the rom what thinga that you should use.
As long as you read and understand everything before you do the process then the phone will run fine.

I've tried the following and it worked as well:
- stock HTC GB rooted (Revolutionary S-OFF) with latest CWM installed
- flashed the 3.32 firmware
- executed superwipe script within CWM
- then flashed ARHD 6.5.x with CWM (u don't get the options to chose kernel for example, only works in 4Ext Recovery)
- as ARHD 6.5.x comes with 4EXT Touch Recovery I rebooted to recovery after ROM was flashed -> 4EXT Recovery is loading
- I flashed ARHD again from 4EXT (this time the options during install show up)
conclusion: if u accidently flashed ARHD with CWM it shouldn't be a problem. it works, but u don't get to choose some options during install (like choosing kernel). but as ARHD comes with 4EXT (at least the latest ARHD versions) u should have 4EXT Recovery installed then and u can simply reflash the ROM to be able to choose between the different options during install.
but of course the recommended way is to install 4EXT recovery before flashing.
So last question, can I follow the guide for S-off, Root and CWM and super CID and First S-off and then install 4EXT Touch by flashign tool and then root and supercid? And then flash the 3.32 firmware for ARHD 6.5.1 and then install ARHD with 4EXT? Will this work?

Did you update the firmware from stock?
Elegencia is an ICS ROM. Those require a firmware update.

HTC Dev does not unlock the radio partition to read write privileges. Only S-off will do that.

If you have Hboot 1.18.000, which if you have not updated you should have, you need to download and run Revolutionary. Go to here for a detailed guide. But relock your bootloader before you run revolutionary.
The boot.img in in the .zip file for ROM you download. You just have to extract it from the .zip and then place it in the tools folder of the SDK and use fastboot to flash it. Or you can make a flashable .zip file to flash in recovery.
You need the stock recovery image on your de ice to flash the official update file.
so i just notice that if you have the HTC sync installed in the computer, the revolutionary.exe wont run!!
S-OFF achieved!! thanks!! Now i will try to flash a ROM again!!
Thanks Guys!
careful
just be careful...need battery or else u might brick
Guys I made a s-off using ControlBear and it crashed!!! so now I can not turn on my phone. Only what can I do is Bootloader and recovery modes. what is the reason of it and is there any solution???
I have requested that a mod move your thread to the Sensation Q&A forum for better device specific assistance.
Did s-off work?
When you say you can get into recovery mode do you mean 4ext or clockworkmod? Or do you mean something else?
If you can get into 4ext or cwm download a new rom and flash it. You should boot right up.
If you can only get to bootloader you can probably update your firmware with a modded version that has a custom recovery included, then proceed to the previous step.
If you need to do the firmware thing you can find all you need in the firmware thread in the development forum.
But....s-off has to have worked in order flash new firmware.
If all else fails you can run an ruu to restore the phone completely to stock and start over.

Hey dude I also failed with JB method and still my sensation is S-ON. You can follow troubleshooting guide at http://unlimited.io/juopunutbear-public-beta-0-1/troubleshooting/
and it really saved my day. Anyways to flash a rom with s-on, simply instal 4EXT recovery and enable SMART-FLASH before installing any rom. It has worked for me

Hi,
Did you make a nandroid backup before you started.
If so,restore it .
If not,why not?
Look HERE
Follow the thread to get 4EXT recovery on your phone ,and using "Smartflash" to get custom ROMS onto your phone.
Use fastboot usb and try flashing boot.img over adb. It worked for me

i have a similar problem. cm10 will install it all goose good until you get to the setup part then it reboots. everytime.almost like a bootloop. i have s-off. unlocked bootloader, supercid. but my hboot is 1.17.0008. i went thru revolutionary do i need to update my hboot and do the hole root over useing jb? the onlything i can think of.........any ideas???
Yes, firmware 1.17 will ALWAYS cause reboots on android 4.x. Update your firmware (probably to 3.33)
Look here for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154
Follow all instructions to update firmware. You basically put the file on your SD card and boot to bootloader. The bootloader should update the firmware from there.

Had this problem too until I used 4ext with the smart flash option. no real need to s-off now.
Hi, I'm a new member here. Today I rooted my HTC sensation Z710e in hopes of installing Kitkat 4.4.2 on it. I unlocked boot loader through HTC Dev website, installed CWM and rooted it successfully. I never S-Offed my device. It's on/was official 4.0.3 ROM. It's still S-On. I tried flashing kitkat rom through CWM. It said it's successful but when I restarted my device it just won't pass the green HTC logo. Have I somehow bricked my device ? Is there anyway of making it boot normally. I still want to install kitkat rom though.
PS: It was my first rooting attempt
Help appreciated ?
