[Q] Notification light - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I bought my SR last week and I have noticed that there is a spot for the notification light next to the front facing camera. But when I receive a txt or email the light doesn't come on. Is there an option in settings to turn on the light or is there not a light. I am also using the Sky Cream from.

NoLED works fine on the Skyrocket for giving you screen notifications.

BLN only lists a few Galaxy S devices that are supported. The Skyrocket was not one of them. Cool concept, but I couldn't get it to work on NeXuS 2.0.

BLN works for our skyrocket. Do you have a kernal flashed that supports BLN?

Its not working for me I'm using faux kernel .... Im assuming it's because my screen comes on when I get notification. Any idea how to fix that?

I'll second this. This is what I'm using. In the settings though: I would suggest putting it to sleep at night so it doesn't drain battery while you sleep (still lights up the screen alittle bit otherwise).

Would be good to have led notification instead of the screen notification which i feel uses more power.
too bad development seems slower for this device.

Bln (back light notification) app. it requires the correct liblight file and may also require kernel mod. You will see this soon. ;-)

[Q]Soft key backlight issue on NS4G

Hey guys, I'm running cm7 on my nexus s 4g and sometimes when the screen is off the soft key backlight comes on. Wondering if I'm the only one with this issue.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
I think that is the BLN (back light notification)
It's suppose to come on when the screen is off if you have a text message or something like that.
Look for an app on the Market called "BLN" to turn it off

If you are running cm7 or cm9, check out this guide for dimming the screen, just set all the button values to zero and the soft buttons won't light up anymore.

Theres a app called screen filter that lets u turn them off

you could always install MikG 3.11 and run Miktweaks which is built into the ROM; it has the option to disable the illumination for those buttons.

You've gone into the advanced settings and checked the adjust soft key box? Then set the frequency to always off.
You need to check lux to never be killed. Then bring up the dashboard and refresh you lux value and then the settings should stick. I've found that at night the capacitive keys turn back on though.

You can try the link button to match the settings to a particular lux value. Honestly it took a bit of trial and error to get the settings to stick.
Do the steps before open the dashboard, let it adjust the value. Set your default back light % and then link it. Mine eventually stuck. As I said at night they still come back on. Go figure !

You can just disasmble the screen and take out the light filters for the 4 keys! That's what I did.

Dim/Turn off backlight of capacitive buttons

Some ICS ROMs have annoying always-on backlight of the hardware capacitive buttons.
Try one of these to eliminate/dim that :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.deskangel.adjbrightness
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.pruss.superdim
According to ShortbusDriver none of these work.
Can someone confirm this works - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26195948&postcount=4
No didn't work either....that would have been an awesome fix though lol
did you try to toggle auto brightness on and off ?
lights should turn off when screen is off.
No capacitive lights do go off with screen....just never go off as long as the screen is on.... for example when watching video a movie let's say....capacitive keys stay on and bright as ever
I see, it exists in CM7 as well.
Probably kernel related.

there's a bug in cm7 github for this issue,
I'm pretty sure Team Acid will take care of it.

I put it as the app to launch when double clicking the screen on Apex launcher (currently on Erikmm's MIUI v4).

edit: now that I reconsider it may have only been like 10 secs top.

Screen filter is a quick fix...and if you enable navigation bar it works fairly well.

Does the led work with/follow the cm10 settings? Everything I've read says that the s3 led is a b**ch to work with, and the only app out there (that I know of) works with the international i9300 only.

I have to leave it running in recent apps, and open it at first boot. Other than that it seems to, every once I get awhile, not function perfectly, but nothing debilitating,
