On the LG Updater there is a new rom for Videotron P999s. If anyone has updated please do a Nandroid backup in CWM and post the system image. Also let us know what the date of the baseband is and whether the rom is 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 (I suspect it is 2.3.4 since it was just released).
This looks great I hope someone post the system for us.

Someone will post it. That need to flash it first. If they have everything stock including original Videotron baseband they can use the LG updater or hopefully OTA. If they flashed the newer baseband they will need to use the KDZ method.

I got a G2X from Videotron
I allready flashed baseband and would really love it if somebody could post the update!

I did post the update. Thread link is below. In the thread is a link to download the KDZ file that can be flashed with the KDZ/LG Updater method in the development section (search for it).

If you have flashed leaked baseband "LGP920AT-00-V18a-AMA-XXX-OCT-28-2011+0_CP.fls" it is recommended to flash new v21a.kdz rom(kdz include new European baseband) or wait for new baseband in *.fls file

Well, i am just saying that because you forgot to mention that they lose root by doing so. The question is if it is easy enough to root it with the latest LG firmware since that is not automatically the case.
and also... noone has confirmed any change between the leaked baseband and the v21a. As far as i'm concerned it's just a matter of 0 and 1. Either u got signal or you don't. But correct me if im wrong

Baseband effects all radio services quality AFAIK. And there are some feedbacks that new baseband provides better signal strenght etc.
Can't somebody "rip" the new baseband and post it? My phone drops connection once in a while since flashing the leaked.

Would also like to know if we can just flash the baseband, Im quite happy with my ROM as it is with the leaked version but I would like to get this improved baseband.
Would that be possible to get the baseband from that?
Hi there,
Since my phone is a I9020A on Fido I rooted and currently running CM9 ICS rom, should I accept any OTA update or do I have to manually install it through CWM?
No, it can screw up your device if you do it like that. Just do it manually like everyone is doing.

Only difference between odex and deodex is that deodex is for theming. Odex boots faster.... And if the radio you're using right bow is working properly you don't need to flash another radio

Ok so I flashed 2.3.6 back stock for OTA rom from the thread in this section and now for some odd reason I cant access my CWM. Whenever I try to it shows some box and triangle thing flashing
tried to reflash CWM using Rom Manager and kept getting an error.
Doh!
To the handful of people getting OTA update on i9020a, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get either:
a) name of ZIP file
b) URL of ZIP file
c) copy ZIP file and upload (should be in /cache folder I think)
(preferably all three)
Once you install it the file is deleted and you lost your chance, so please if you downloaded update don't apply until you get at least one of the above...but preferably all three, you would be a hero to all of us in this thread with i9020a wanting update. This is AT&T/Rogers model.

The OP states he is running CM9 Kangs... He isn't getting the update since he is not on stock -- I think he is just asking how to actually take the OTA when it comes.
I am on Fido too in Canada and I can assure you, I have not received the OTA for my I9020A yet... Once it is available for my I9020A, I will post all the information here (if the I9020A official OTA is not already posted, that is...)
if i flash back to stock with root will i still receive OTA on ns4g?? even if with a different kernal?

I think the kernel has to be stock as well.
I just downloaded OTARootKeeper app and have reverted completely back to stock; I am patiently waiting for the i9020A OTA.
Hopefully we get it soon.
I don't mind a little wait though... by then all the other bugs and such with SuperUser app will be figured out for ICS.

I downloaded Voodoo OTARootKeeper from the android market. The description of the program claims it should hide your root during the ota and according to the apps latest reviews, it works on this ics upgrade. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works and hopefully the super user app from the market will be updated by then to handle ics.

Also, Superuser has been officially updated for ICS, so you don't really need to use OTARootKeeper. The new SU works just like before.

If you look under the the big Hellfire Sandwich v1.9. there is a download link for the old baseband if you dont want to take the leap to upgrading your baseband.
But if you want to update your baseband look in the general section you should be able to find what your looking for to upgrade your baseband. I'd post a link but i havnt got my 10 posts yet.
yeah I think im gonna upgrade the baseband from what I'm told baseband matters a lot. I take it I have to install a stock rom and in the process it will unroot my phone but I just root it back thanks man you been a great help.
I dont know if you want to use this guide, but this is the only way I could get the 21y firmware and march 2012 baseband on my wind mobile p999 phone.

in G2x General and i just followed from the 1st step, even though my phone already had a rom and baseband on it. Hope everything goes smooth for you.
So I've been using G2x with July 15 baseband on canadian mobilicity network(wind variant of g2x)
and it's working pretty good except that MMS doesnt work
However if i want to use new ROMs (Singh UI..etc) I gotta have the new baseband for tmobile...
can I just install the baseband or would it have problem with mobilicity network?
or is it impossible for canadian g2x to get the new baseband update?
thank you

The baseband can't be installed separately with any of the P999 tools and don't use any P990 tools such as smartflash because it will brick your phone's partitions and baseband. The T-Mobile basebands work perfectly on WIND so they should work perfectly on Mobilicity too but you have to flash the .kdz file which will install the baseband, kernel, and ROM then you can install a different kernel and ROM which is compatible with the installed baseband.

No, you can't use CWM to flash the baseband, it won't do it. You must use either the LG updater which won't work for the WIND Optimus 2X because LG didn't supply any updates in Canada or the offline update method for the LG-P999/G2X which will work with a .kdz file.

Did you use the offline update? If you had, that wouldn't have happened because the offline update method uses an http server on your own computer to intercept all of the server communication to the official LG update server and enable updating of the phone which has any version of firmware running on it.
The newset baseband for G2X is 15-3-2012.
I flashed the new March 2012 baseband and now my gps doesn't work anymore. It stays stuck at "searching for gps signal." The thing is I don't remember what I was using before, the March 2012 or July 2011 baseband. I'm assuming July 2011 and the change could've caused this issue. However, shouldn't the new baseband be an improvement on GPS signal and whatnot? Anyways, looking forward to hearing some advice before I try to downgrade back to the March 2011 baseband.
Anyone know how I can return my phone back to the stock rom (Android v4.0.4 ICS) that came from T-Mobile? I was able to get my phone back to stock using this post but the version of android is 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) and I am unable to update it to 4.0.4 using Kies due to no firmware update available.
I searched the forums and didn't see anything for stock Android v4.0.4, so if anyone know how please share.
Appreciate it.
