The link you posted only works for stock OTA roms.
Do you know if any mods that allow you to add onto custom roms?
I am using the following rom:

Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you have a GSM Nexus S... If you have 4G capability on your phone do not pay attention to the first paragraph under this.
If you want to stick to something very similar to what you have try this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461633. It is based off of Buglessbeast, and has a few more tweaks such as battery percent.
If you want more features and an overall better ROM (in my opinion) I suggest you hit up the Development section (according to your device: Nexus S Android for GSM, and Nexus S 4G for Nexus S's with 4G abilities). Look for some custom ICS ROMs, they have battery percent MODs, and A LOT more.
Some I can recommend right away (in no order) are: GummyNex, CyanogenMod9, and AOKP.

[Q] Simple noob question Nexus S 4g Root/ICS

I'm new to rooting and andriod in general. So far this forum has been great and I have been able to root both a nook color and nook tablet without too many issues.
I'm trying to put ICS on my wife's Sprint Nexus S 4g. I figured out to do a backup of at least the contacts. That's all I could figure out on the forums. Seems you need to be rooted before you can use titanium backup or any other full backup? Regardless, I got the contacts and that's all I'm really worried about.
Basically my question is I see all the posts for ICS have just a zip file linked. With no SD card or anything, I'm not sure where to put the zip or to extract it?
I see some general instructions in the tutorial, but they aren't really comprehensive.
I assume I browse it via usb on the computer and put the file(s) somewhere, but I cannot find a single post explaining where. I really did look. I apologize if it is everywhere and I somehow missed it, but any insight would be greatly appreciated.
The phone is currently running 2.3.7. Thanks in advance.

Thanks these are a huge help. I'm still suprised there aren't more text tutorials in the posts.
Does anyone happen to know if 4G is working on any of the ICS builds or not until official release?
Look in ns4g development section. There are a handful of ics roms there. Be carefully to only flash rooms from the nexus s 4g dev section and not the nexus s.

No problem most ics roms have working 4g. I'm running vhgomez rom and everything works. I also like gummy nexus the dev added the software buttons so its like a baby nexus. Only thing is u have to flash a custom kernel that allows u to chand the back light dimmer so the hardware buttons are off.

Because it isn't development of any kind... if there isn't something you modded or built, then it doesn't belong in develpoment... a general question of what's with the lack of roms is most definitely not development... read forum rules before posting next time... Q&a is for questions and answers, general is for general discussions about the device and development is for DEVELOPMENT only... if there isn't something flashable, generally it doesn't belong in development... make sense?

Please, post in appropriate section next time. Consider yourself warned.
Devs post and watch in the general and q&a section. I'm a flashaholic so I feel your pain. I hear the 8000 model ROMs work but I can't really get a solid answer plus just because it works it don't mean it couldn't throw skomethkng out ta wack. Patience I'm sure once more people see the power this device has development will come.

I flashed the N8000 JB Rom on my N8013 with no problems whatsoever. all I did was turn on airplane mode then turn on wifi so it would turn off all the radios besides the wifi radio to conserve battery. On my days off im going to search on the Evo View forums because I remember there was a way to completely disable 3G Radios via a flashable zip. If I can get that to work we can essentially share roms but just flash the radio disabling zip afterwards for our N8013

The 8013 should only have wifi and bluetooth radios right? What does airplane mode prevent?
I would figure the rom which is N8000 would be constantly looking for a radio that wouldnt be there would be sometype of a battery drain

Are there any other bugs to the JB ROM or does everything else work well?
I'm really hoping someone will build a pure vanilla ROM as I HATE Touchwiz.

If N8000 and N8013 aren't perfectly interchangeable and oy need to have like one thing disabled in order for it to work 100%, I'll get to work on something in a week or so.

Last I checked it was for the N8000 (might be the N8013 too, but couldn't tell), but I read it had quite a few issues still.

Dude stop worrying already. Entropy has an 8013 note and he is an awesome dev. He already released a kernel and 3 builds of CM10. Check the CM10 thread in general, second post there is a 9/15 update for CM10.

Well I think the fact we dont have official JB yet is what is holding most devs back. Why spend the time developing for ICS when it will be obsolete any day now?
Once JB OTA is out I think we will see a major pop in development.

[Q] I need help running T-Mobile GS2 roms on my Skyrocket.

OK so I came across a thread that said you would be able to run T-Mobile gs2 roms on skyrockets and I wanted to test it because I love the roms on the T-Mobile gs2. I grabbed the conversation file that the thread provided and I got the T-Mobile gs2 I wanted and began the process. I backed up my current rom and then wiped every thing. I flashed the rom and then the conversion file like it said. I rebooted the phone and it just sat at the Samsung boot screen. I thought it was normal so I left it there for a while and came back and it was still stuck there. Can the skyrocket really run T-Mobile gs2 roms? Did I do anything wrong in my process? I was able to restore to my previous rom so I'm not freaking out, but I really want to run the rom I found. Is there anyone that can help me? Please and thanks in advance.

Simple answer, you are flashing a TW based conversion kit to an AOKp based rom. Just use an AOSP, CM10 and alike kernel to that rom and you should be good.
Disclaimer: do this at your own risk.

[Q] Not getting 4G LTE after flashing ROM

Hello,
I noticed that after flashing CM10.1 ROM on my phone, I have not been getting 4G LTE at all. Was I suppose to do something prior to flashing? And also, does anyone know a kernel that specializes in battery saving? I have been looking around, and it seems that Franco has the most promising features regarding battery life. Thoughts? Thanks in advanced. Just got into this forums, and the community is great!
Did you read the following thread of cm10 to see what to do if you don't have 4g? might wanna look into that.

Okay but you can't have a asop touchwiz rom because touchwiz is a overlay on a asop rom. You either have a asop rom or have a touchwiz rom.
