Moneto nfc - Samsung Infuse 4G

sorry if this is the wrong place to post ... has anyone seen this ..i think its a cool idea .. i just might order one..comments??
http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/article.php?a=9641

saw that, apparently its based on compatibility.

im sure they will make an app to make it compatible ... i hope

if i can use google wallet with it, on any phone, ill buy one.

I'd get one if it came with 32GB storage as well. I'm not giving up storage space for something my VISA card already does.

your visa card can do beam?
its only $30, it wont come with any storage space. maybe in a few years when all phones have nfc anyways.

Well... what I meant was: As of today, any place that would accept NFC will have a card reader that'll take my VISA or MasterCard card. Since I always carry my wallet with other ID, I simply have no need for NFC.
I'll let the early adopters work out the kinks. Don't get me wrong, I think NFC is great and has a lot of potential. My next phone (likely years from now when my Infuse dies) will have NFC capability... but until then call me a dinosaur

yea ..i agree it has to work with google wallet...the storage is no big deal for me .. i do like the idea though!

I have another question since we are on the Topic of SD cards, is there a particular reason i cant use a 64gig card on my infuse or captivate. is there a way to make this happen. any tricks, or is just not possible (32 gig is great) but i would still like to know.
I'd love to jump in on this (though the chip could be fakes), but the reviews for Daily Steals is terrible.
http://www.viewpoints.com/DailySteals-com-review-2b587
Has anyone tried Daily Steals before and would like to give feedback?
I've used them for several purchases ranging from SD cards to an Augen tablet (ugh). Even some wireless mice...
All transactions were legit. Items shipped in a reasonable amount of time and were never incorrect.

yes it is real, im not imagining it. i bought it, it was like 120 dollars
They were just announced in May and Kingston is the only maker so far.
They are NOT on the market yet.
How did you get one?
i just assumed that they were available, shot over to my moms house(she buys things online, i dont) gave her the money and told her to order me one. she found it and it arrived 2 days later.
its exactly the same as my 32gb card. just has a 64 on it.
so is this not possible to use at this moment??

It's likely to be a fake, because I doubt some random company would have a 64GB Micro SD card before the bigger companies.
well its looks real, obviously i cant test to see if its "Real" ( my phone didnt recognize it, and i dont have one of those adaptors to plug into my computer.
ahhh well, was worth a try. i hope she didnt order me a Fake - Damnnnn it.

its looking that way, i honestly bought it never thinking about if my phone would even see it. just thought it would. smh, error on my part. especially when the Miui on my Captivate wouldnt even see the 32gb i have.
but im still hopeful that it at least has 64gb of space, at least i can some use out of it. wont know till i can plug into something.
thanks for the info yall. as i stated i just put money in hand and told her to order it.

Noticed something funny with att accessories

if you look at the htc one x compatible accessories and look under the cases and play the game one of these items does not belong which is it??? lol had to share
Haha I see what you're talking about.
I just slid the memory card in under my SIM and it worked fine ?????

Saw that yesterday. This just shows what kind of fools are working there. Then we ask why we we get our ROM updates a year later than other carriers.

In fairness, the way these e-commerce sites work, every time you load a new product, you can associate it with other products in the system so they show up as suggestions. Usually, you can pick specific products or default it to show up with everything in your store.
In all likelihood, someone just set that SD card to associate with all phones without thinking too hard about it.
I asked ATT this while on the phone with them yesterday. The guy looked and just laughed and said "would you like to buy one?".
When I bought my One X the sales rep went digging in the box for an SD card to insert it for me. He said "hmm let me get one from the back" I then asked him where I'd put it. He had no idea there wasn't an SD card slot on the One X.

Except AT&T stores don't have troves of memory cards in their back rooms, or give them away with phones. Gotta call shenanigans. They also require pretty in depth training on all their devices. Sales people do often allow the customer to think they are smart by simply agreeing, so you may have been played. The online store is another story. Like stated before, it was probably just a automated form, it happens.

Please call Samsung about 4.3 update for google edition S4 and writing to SD card

For everyone with the S4 google edition. As you know the ability of many apps to be able to write to the sd card was busted with the 4.3 update. Just got off the phone with Samsung and explained the situation and they said they have not received any other calls on this and basically nothing will be done until they receive more calls. So please let them know. their number is 1 800 726 7864 Thank you!

If like me you don't want to root no. Some apps that could save to SD card(camera JB+)developers are working on a fix but from what I read today it doesn't sound good. One program that still works is ES File Explorer to move files to SD card. But not the greatest solution. Hopefully Samsung will put out a fix if we make some noise.

Dude, just root the phone, install Busybox and use Foldermount to move apps to the sdcard
These threads are funny. Everyone *****es about Samsung's apps, framework, overlay and customizations so they release a phone that's as AOSP as possible. Then people ***** about not having access to Samsung's customizations. OP, Google's adamantly against external storage which is why Nexus devices don't have it. Be lucky the SGS4 GE supports it at all which is a customization to AOSP in itself. There are two SGS4s - pick the one that works for you. Expecting Samsung to continue to add their own features to a phone intentionally kept as "pure" as possible is a bit nuts and goes against why GE edition phones exist in the first place. The post above this one is the answer to your problem. Not spamming Samsung.

Uhhh, you're a little misinformed. We can't write to the SD card at all. Not just apps2sd is broken. I don't care about that. I can't create a folder on my SD Card with Solid Explorer without rooting my phone and modifying a system file. That's bull****. The phone is advertised on play.google.com as supporting expandable storage. They need to fix it.

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/08/ga...-android-4-3-breaks-sd-card-writing-for-apps/
Since it's an identified problem that's been picked up by the media you can pretty much assume a fix is in the works. Relying on low-paid third party call center agents as a source of info ("Samsung's not aware of the problem") isn't really that wise as they are typically the last to know about both problems and their solutions.
Hope it gets fixed soon.
I called this morning to the mobile services number. They did ask me for my IMEI number he repeated the issue back to me and he understood it as a SD writing issue not apps to SD issue.
I also requested he put in to Google "4.3 issue with s4 Google edition" and they will see several post explaining the issue.
He said he would forward to technical support.
To those with a GT-I9505G please call even if you do not care about the issue.
Although ES file explorer work to move pics and video to the Ext SD card, this should be fixed for this model since it is about the only pure android OS with an SD card.

4.2.2 was great! of the apps you mentioned I only use Google Play music and have not had any force closes. The only issue for my is the ext sd card writing bug in which my camera apps, JB+ camera, Procapture and Zoom camera FX cannot save pictures to the ext SD card like they could on 4.2.2!
You people expect an answer by calling samsung? Seriously?
Let me tell you this- they don't care. They got away with your $$$ and don't give a rat's poop.
They release updates and put what they want on it when they feel like it (or a court order forces them).
That's why XDA exists so we won't have to be so reliant on samsung regarding features that we want.

They apparently listened on the low available space on the S4 and brought back apps to SD for the S4 in a fairly quick update. In the case of the S4 Google Edition, we are taking about one line of code in the platform.xml file. I do expect them to issue a fix. Why wouldn't they if it is a legitimate bug? If not, they may as well stop making the S4 GPe because nobody will buy them if this is not fixed. Many people that buy the s4 GPe want their apps to have write access the ext SD card.
The Samsung email address page is a little tricky to find here it is

This is what I wrote feel free to use all or part
I have a recently purchased Samsung s4 google edition i9505G from the Google play store. After the 4.3 android update my apps have lost the ability to write to the sd card. This has been documented in many articles on the web.
I have talked to Google and they told me a fix for this would be your responsibility.
Are you aware of this problem? Are you working on a fix? Thanks!
I'm sure this will be patched eventually but I don't think bugging them will make it any quicker lol

Did you see where Google refunded the shipping cost on the Nexus 7 sleeve because of the uproar on the outrageous shipping cost. These companies listen and respond once you let them know. At $649 a pop for this device they should fix this.

Ebay is full of fake SD cards. The card will probably show as being 64GB but it surely isn't.
Advice: don't use it at all. If stubborn: don't use it to store anything remotely important. You will lose data, again without any doubt.
I remember when the 32gb were big back in the day. I ordered one from China on Ebay and I thought it was a steal. I received the item, worked for 2 days and bam! No more 32gb! It instantly became 800kb some how...

It's no 64GB card. A card with genuinely that capacity can't be bought anywhere for that price. ALL those cards are fake. All of them, 100%.
But, if you're happy with it, great. No biggie.
Verify the authenticity of the card via Sandisk's Website
I bought mine at 2,300Philippine Pesos or 51.61US$ from a 3rd Party seller, and I've contacted a Rep via Online Chat from Sandisk itself, and after supplying them with the information regarding my Sandisk Ulta 64Gb, they confirmed it via the photos and the serial number of the card that I provided that it is indeed authentic. They even took the trouble or registering it and I now have a Lifetime Warranty for that Card!
Things to consider all the sandisk drives are made in china, also are these the ones that everyone was having issues with?? Quick way to pawn them off?? Honestly I would not touch these.. Despite the fact I could use a 64gb drive..

Considering getting a Note 5. Have some questions

Hey all. I'm considering switching to a Note 5. I currently have a Note 3. I switched to t mobile from att last week and picked up a LG V10 which I am supposed to start using tomorrow. I'm now considering this phone. I had a concern about battery life but from what I see here after rooting and running a custom ROM battery life seems great. I'm concerned about the storage with no sd card. If I got this phone, I'd get the 64 gb version. I'm wondering if samsung has any solution to uploading your photos/videos while on the go. I'm going on vacation for 10 days next month and I know this limited amount of storage wouldn't be enough unless I uploading my photos and videos somewhere each night. I won't have my pc with me. Does samsung have a place to upload? If not where do you upload? Thanks

I use Google photos as well it's imo the nicest and most user friendly cloud upload for photos. However you could auto upload to dropbox, or onedrive. If you have a Microsoft 365 account you get 1 TB of onedrive space included with your account plus you get an additional 100 GB via a Samsung offer when you buy the Note 5. I use Google photos as my primary and onedrive as a redundancy backup.
I thought I was going to miss the sd card slot as well but I don't. I got the 64 and I also carry a 64 GB sandisk otg/usb combo drive which you get usually find on sale at reasonable prices on amazon.

Having had both, the note 3 and the 5 honestly, I think I should have went with the 4. I like the 5 and all but I do miss the SD card, I use Google photos as has been mentioned but having to delete photos and videos is aggravating to me. Between photos, videos, music and apps I am out of space, granted, I have the 32gb but the 64gb would be the same in time.
I have not rooted this phone, been holding out for Samsung pay and my bank to work together, says coming soon. Regardless tho, that's something else I am tired of...I should have stayed with nexus devices in regard to root the more I think about it lol. Anyways, getting off topic now.
I got the 5 because costco had a $250 rebate, Samsung had the holiday promotion and Samsung pay had a $100 credit for purchasing from samsung.com if you sign up for and activate a card. When I added all that up it was just to good of a deal to pass up on.
Just get one of these.

The Note 5 is so much better than the 4. I think the 3 was better than the 4 but the 5 is a great device as long as you can get over the storage. I think a Keychain OTG thumb drive is a good compromise for those with additional storage needs.
Yes please dont fall into the trap of so many being dependent on an sd card. There are so many choices to use and honestly 50 gb of data on your phone just because is a lil crazy. You have as mentioned above plenty of storage alternatives and videos I simply upload to Youtube and privately share or watch.
People seem to forget that sometimes phones take a dump, get lost, stolen or break. Now with your whole life on the phone what next?

Because of Qi charging. The Micro SD will be seldom used. The Note 5 is slick so most people will end up using a case....so..... I am waiting for someone to build a case that has a microsd built in that connects to the usb port and it does not interfere with Wireless qi & NFC use. If someone builds it... I want my 10%! Whaaaaaat There is a reason for it who would of thought. LOL
People just hate change that's all I swapped a S2 for a Nexus and didn't not sweating the 16gb hard drive just did what I had to do. We are just a bunch of complainers and entitled people that's all.... Lol
I guess the future will be personal cloud ?.. people will have their own wireless storage as a wearable device and it can be accessed without any wires or case and it can be used with laptop, phone and may also be encrypted from others stealing it ?

My Note 4 is my go to device but I also have a Note 5. I thought about getting a V10 but I need the SPen so I had no other choice if I wanted something new.
Somebody mentioned how SD cards are not reliable and can mess up resulting in lost data. Frankly, that hardly ever happens. In years of SD card use I've never had that happen to me but I did have my Note 5 become completely unresponsive. It would not turn on at all and I had to get a replacement from TMobile. Guess what? I lost all the pics I had taken that day because even though I use Google photos, I only sync the pics when charging and on WiFi to avoid using too much cellular data. If I had an SD card I would have been able to pull the pics off the card even though the phone wouldn't turn on.
Some people say there is a good reason for the SD card feature being removed. The only reason is profit. Why could they not have made it work? Some people say it's because the memory isn't compatible with the new memory being used on these phones but I don't believe that. Why is it that OTG works? Couldn't they have just made an SD card slot that worked the same way as OTG?
I like the Note series but I sure hope we get back expandable storage.

Expandable sd slot is built into the chpset. USB otg is not. Think of it as a truck. The bed is built into the body, but to get more room you get a trailer hitch and trailor.
Now we have an suv instead of a truck. That's why swapping primary storage drives was a thing on some older phones. Instead of using a actual nand flash, some phones used a micro SD card for internal and a second for expandable.
On some devices you could actually change to the Expandable storage being the "internal" storage via bootloader.
The type of chip being used in the note 5 is not capable of running a micro SD card and maintain high speed for the onboard. The how to just isn't there yet.
Regardless of that being bs. The other thing about designs, the shells are made first, then the rest of the product. Outside in.
