[Q] Noob . . Getting Root Explorer Crash . . ?? - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
Sure im a noob .. Its my first Android Phone . . ARC s.
Can anyone please help me, i have read lots of threads but still not much improvement upon this issue. I want to try out these amazing stuffs here, but im stuck and i cannot move further.
I wil try to brief what i did with my phone, perhaps i missed something.
1. I root my phone(locked bootloader) with Zergrush created by DoomLord. I dont know if i done it corectly, may be someone can confirm.
2.When i rooted my phone, i did not download the adb drivers, i was too new ..
3. However, i followed all the steps, and i get my phone rooted, but after rooting, as the phone need to reboot, it rebooted up quite fast, unlike others atke about 120 seconds. . .
4. Still, i got my superuser application and it seems to worked, do not really know.
5. I got root explorer versions 2.12.1 and 2.8.1, installed the latest first, ok successful.
6. When i run the root explorer app, i was promted to allow or deny this app by super user, whereby i conclude it seems to work.
7.I grant acess to root explorer, but on starting, i get the error message saying unexpected error, needs to be closed.
8. I tried with the other version as well but still same thing.
Please can anyone guide me if ever i missed something, I really want to try out these amazing stuffs out here, like changing themes and toggle switch, but i cannot go beyond if i do not have root access.

Try
>>Manage applications
>>downloaded
>>force stop on root explorer
>>clear data and cache
Sent from my XT862 using XDA App

I tried the above . . to no avail ..
In fact neither the Force stop nor the clear data and cache button are activated. . .
:-( . . . some help please . .

If you have patience, you can try to re-root. Otherwise don't know how to help you!

RE root
Ok i'll try to re-root.
Please can you advise, do i need to unroot first and then root again or i just apply the re-rooting.
Do you advise to go by Zergrush . . .??
Do i really need the adb drivers or this can be skipped.
Thanks
. . . .

Hello, sorry for not answering you, but have not the email notifications enabled for replies on threads. In my opinion it would be good to do a full wipe first: data factory, cache, dalvik cache. Then root again waiting for all the files have been downloaded. I always root with SDK and adb and always works good!

Okie ...
Will try and give you an update ..
Thanks
Regards

Before you do anything i would suggest downloading the latest version from the market, which is 2.17.2.
The cause of your crash could be already fixed.
This app should be able to tell you if you are rooted

[TUTORIAL]LG Optimus one P500 with stock 2.3.3. ROM

After so many nights without sleep, i found solution for rooting new LG P500 official rom update.
DO THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK, I WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!
Read instructions carefully
First of all, download archive from here and extract it to your desktop
And download driver pack from here
1. Back up all data with ASTRO file manager, you can find it on market.
2. Hard reset your phone either with system->privacy->erase all data or turning your phone off, and holding HOME,VOLUME DOWN and POWER BUTTON.
3. After phone boots up, you have clean file system, then go to Applications, and turn on USB Debugging mode
NOW THE FUNNY PART
1. Connect your phone with usb cables, make sure you have installed all the drivers needed, and connect phone in DEBUGGING Mode (provided a bit upper on this post)
2. In the extracted folder called root on your desktop, go to ADB folder and start cmd7.exe if u run win7 or cmdXP.exe (run as administrator in both options) if ur pc runs win XP. (your address bar should like something like this: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME HERE\Desktop\root\ADB
3. After starting cmd7 or cmdXP, type following commands
Code:
adb devices
then
Code:
adb shell
(symbol will change to $ or #) and copy paste following command into your terminal
Code:
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
4. After doing this, REBOOT YOUR PHONE
5. After reboot, go to root folder on desktop again, and start SuperOneClick.exe
6. Select GingerBreak method and press root button
7. After few seconds VOILA !!! You have rooted Optimus One.
8. REBOOT PHONE and update superuser app from market (mine was updated automatically)
To unroot device, follow steps from 1 to 6 in FUNNY PART and select unroot instead gingerbreak. and you will have unrooted device
I tried to root all kinds with android SDK and many others, and always had problems with force close. Running on this method for 3 days, and have no errors.
This is my tutorial, if u consider it helpfull, think about donating for cofee or beer.
Comments, Questions... post it below, i will read them and answer ASAP
EDIT : If you want to have beautiful CRT OFF Animation on your phone read tut here be sure to backup phonebook mine was deleted, but now i have crt off animation, which i looooove and think that is the second best thing to do after rooting

Try EXACTLY as written, because if you don't do like it is mentioned above, root will be wrong, and u will have app.crash on superuser. If Everything is done by my tut, your superuser app will be updated and phone rooted.
Try again, reading row by row
Hi, today i rooted my Optimus One with 2.3.3 but i have one problem - Android Market don't work (Server error, try again later (...) - something like this).
How can i fix it ?
I think that i solved it.
I replaced SuperUser.apk with new one, downloaded from hxxp://androidsu.com/superuser/ and now everything seems to work correctly
Worked like a charm. Thank you
Getting SU error everytime I try to do anything on Titanium Backup, even after I updated SU. Any thoughts?
EDIT: Seems that, besides updating the SU app, I also needed to update the binary through SU itself. It seems to be working fine now. Thnx!
I succeeded too..
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
wow! worked like a charm. followed everthing exactly, and no problem has been encountered. thanks a lot.
Brilliant
Hello,
This worked perfectly, i now have root.
I must say i did not hard reset my phone (step 2) and still worked.
Thanks uploader for this beautiful tool
Cheers,
ylvall

Successful in Rooting Energy
Hi!! Don't worry. I already rooted my Energy. And I used Root And Restore by Bin4ry.
Just use the software First. Run the "'RunMe.bat" and then make sure that:
1. You're device is connected to the PC.
2. You turned on "USB connection"
After clicking on the RunMe.bat, a command prompt window will open. Then you'll see there the choices on what kind of action you'll need to perform.
- press 1 then enter (because your device is a normal device)
- a couple of things will appear on the window like daemon started successfully etc.
-then it will tell you to go to your device and press "restore my data" (or just restore)
-then your device will restart. Don't worry if it restarts a couple of times. It's okay.
-then after the boot, you'll be welcomed with a dialogue indicating that "Android is upgrading".
Enter your homescreen and voila!!! you are rooted :victory:
Then manually install the latest version of BusyBox in the market. As well as SuperSU (The android logo with the red cape) :highfive:
I'll expect that you'll be rooted in no time

I think you uninstalled some system apps. May be the systemUI.apk , it is the one which is responsible for the status bar.

You should have had a backup of your systemUI else at least a nandroid backup.
It seems you don't have a Custom recovery like cwm.
Also you don't have the systemUI backup i think.
Other choices as you don't have backups-
Search for your device's CWM try to flash it & then find a custom Rom for your device and flash it.
Another way is that ask some of the members with the same device as yours for the systemUI.apk and push it into the /system/app either with the help of adb or CWM through aroma filemanager.
Please do a little search on what i am suggesting and try to learn & do as i can't post all the methods step by step in a single post.

Any methods that i know couldn't help you AFAIK.
Coz there are ways complex for you to get into right now. (such as taking logcat through adb, finding & debugging the problem)
Better try to give it in service center, and don't say that you rooted the device.
They can easily flash a fresh firmware for your device.
All the best:thumbup:

1. The service center people will directly know that the device is rooted, coz as i said my device starts up and functions normally for sometime, and i can see root apps on the menu, superSU, RootUninstaller , Titanium Backup and all... and I would like to keep it as last option to go to service center, they would take too long to solve this...
2. Do you suggest Uninstalling these root apps first....?
3. Do you suggest Unrooting my device before i take it to the service center...? coz i had read that they wont know that it was rooted then..
4. How do you take logcat through android debugging , find & debug the problem-- What do i require to do this, i mean the required softwares n all....
5. i also have the com.android.acore unexpectedly closed error... i cannot access call functions as well....
6. What are the probable causes for this problem........ ? Thank you..!

1. Google it as 'download adt'.
2. It can be said as adb environment. It's a part of adt.

Huge issue on android 4.0.4 Tablet..Please help!!

Hey all,
Okay so my best friend is a quadriplegic..He gave me a Digix Tablet model Tab-730,android 4.0.4,base band V1.10_20120929,kernal ver,3.0.8+,4 gb external card and 2 gb internal, to root so I could help him get the most out of his device with accessibility and such..Anyways I successfully rooted it with Bin5ary,and now I have a huge issue I cant fix....
Every time I reboot,it factory resets itself..Every time still showing superSU as an active app..
Then I cant install more than 1 app without it saying its full and to manage my apps..
I read online its a problem with busybox and to copy /system/sbin/busybox to system/bin and reboot..First of ll theres no /system/sbin/busybox to begin with because I cant get busybox in the system...I can make changes with a good file manager downloaded apk from my email, but cant install busybox after..I can install busybox first but then my stock file manager isnt letting me access root!
Please help my buddy and I out! Endless thanks to anyone who can!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Trend 3 (SM-G3502) Rooting Help

So.. After a whole week trying to find a succesful way to root this f***ng phone, no success has been found.
I couldn't find this phone's section on XDA so I'm posting this on the general section...
If anyone could give me the link to the section, it would be very appreciated.
This is the phone:
Samsung Galaxy Trend 3 - SM-G3502C
Android Version: 4.3
Build Number: JLS36C.G3502CZCUAOD1
I have tried a number of on android apps, windows software, and even tried rooting manually by adb and linux. But couldn't have a single successful attempt or any signs of progress made...
Can anyone help me out with this phone, the reason I need root is because this is a chinese phone and doesnt have Play Store installed, and I need root access to install Play Store on /system/apps/ and give R+W permission...
Apps tried:
Saferoot
Kingo App Root
iRoot (vRoot/Root Master)
OneClickRoot
TowelRoot
A bunch of .bat rooting scripts
Baidu in-app Rooter
Rooting through ADB (everything was going fine until I had to access Ubuntu's Nautilus, to move the files to /system/ but the device wouldn't mount by MTP on download mode, and I couldn't access the files) link to the guide followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2684210
Any help would be truly appreciated, and If there is a way to install play store without the need of root access, or even a good replacement for play store would be really good.
Also, I have 0 experience on custom recovery, so, If any developer out there could create a custom recovery for this phone, I could give them the recovery.img from this phone and modify it to work on this phone. If that's the way it works, idk XD.
P.D. I already opened a thread on XDA-Assist but sorry, I had to move it, I saw that every post on that section had little views and replies and I was worried that this would happened to me on that section to me too. I'm ok if I need to erase it from there but I would like to leave it there for some time if there is any replies.
