[Q] whats your phone and app settings for best battery? - HTC Sensation

Hi im pretty new to this phone. however even after calibration the phone dies pretty fast. im using CPU tuner and having the CPU underclock at specific battery levels! is that a good thing? and also i cant tell if timeriffic is draining my battery even more! but i set that the other day and yeah its either worse or doesnt help!
so what settings do you guys use to get the best ?

Try checking out JuiceDefender, its very good at saving you some juice, also check out Android Revolution HD by Mike1986. You'll find that ROM in the development section. I'd give more information but I'm on the phone.

I don't think so unless a custom ROM has changed the setting.
Misread it

Don't honestly think u can..

It would be a value somewhere that could be changed but will require some digging around and probably root access.
Perhaps the limitation is built into the camera app itself. Does this limitation occur with any 3rd party camera app?
This limitation has been the same for all HTC phones released in the last 12 months or so. My old Desire HD used to do the same thing when the battery was "low".
it is pretty annoying, im sure a developer will find it soon, just needs a little digging around like jivemaster said.
Yeah, it is annoying. Gotta have your battery charged in case you go out at night I guess.
oh alright then
It is very annoying for me also. I usually go out for half hour and have 30-40% battery charged so mostly it goes below 30% and not having falsh enabled is a big mess. Since I am a photography lover & I love to capture precious moments. Someone should come up with with a way around.

Any Solutions Yet
Have you tried disabling power saver?
i always have it disabled
I had same problem. Solution for me was upgrading to latest ROM (2.3.4 ->1.45.401.2 ) ofcourse original, HTC ROM, because I bought this phone for sense 3.0 (i don't know why people write new ROM without sense and say ... My ROM is better... There is something wrong with them...I think.. ...
huh..

it would be great if someone can build an apk or a patch for it to force the flash to work when the battery is low

Flash a custom kernel. I know faux's kernel's have lowered the limit to 10%.
Controlled by the kernel.
Some custom kernels lower the threshold (as long as power saver is off).
Check the Sensation Development section and read up on kernels.
Faux and Bricked both offer lower thresholds, I believe. Check Unity as well.
The features and changelogs will be in first or second post of Kernel thread.

I think it is great idea! What if you got ALOT of stuff to backup, and flash at the same time, and suddenly the battery runs out.. Think about that.

Need your help guys !

You can download BetterBatteryStats. Charge your phone to full and leave it idle overnight. Then open BetterBatteryStats and see under "Partial Wakelocks" and "Kernel Wakelocks" too see if any app keeps waking up the phone. Then try tweaking those apps sync interval, set it to longest interval possible or just turn off syncing.
If you experience drain with wifi on, it maybe because of the router sending weird signals and keeps the phone up ( like with my old DLink router, it drains 10%/h doing nothing). Try switching to another router if that is the case.
Calibration is a myth and it doesn't help with battery life.
Why don't you try super wipe everything and flash a new rom and kernel from scratch and see if you still get drain from this clean state. My recommendation would be ROM : ARHD 6.5.5 and Kernel : SebastianFM's OverclockedKernel. I have excellent battery life with this combination. I also undervolt all steps -100mV.
you must get new strong battery

Thanks for helping me out but i do not sync anything during weekdays only tjing i do is music whit screen off i don't sync nothing no data connection nothing...
I really want to try arhd however it requires 4ext recovery which i dont like it im more familiar whit clockworkmod but will do clean flash and let you guys know how it goes hopefully it will fix it...

Also use system tuner or setcpu to set minumum cpu speed from 384Mhz to 192Mhz. It helps me with playing music when screen off ( from 6-7%/h to 2-3%/h).
4XT recovery is touch version of cwm with some more features like MD5 checksum, mount sd etc... Try it and you will love it. Good luck.

[Q] sensation battery

Hi I'm new to sensation dev and I have a quick question I'm use sense 4.0 Rom with faux123 kernel I was just askingif there is a battery mod or something to help save battery?
Oh yeah the Rom is ordroid 8.6.5 4.0.3
Sent from my Sensation 4G
I think there is but I'm not sure of link but wanted to ask are you still stock battery? It helps a lot if you upgrade to a longer lasting battery say like Anker. I use Anker and its made a huge difference in my battery life. Also after flashing rom, make sure battery is at 100% then plug into charger, go into recovery, wipe battery stats, then unplug. This helps a lot. Also make sure things like sync is turned off for things you don't need, stop non needed running applications in the background, turn off blinking notifications , turn off feedback vibration ect, make sure backlight is minimum brightness, doing these things with a better battery will really help you! You will be surprised how much more time you get with Anker battery. I wish you the best! Hope you get the better battery because is really made a difference !
ps I'm running Ordroid 8.6.5 also

Yes there is. Look in my signature and chose the power-saving option from that page it leads to. It is extremely good and although it only ever uses one core I can't notice a different in speed, only an epicly increased battery life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Settings to use to avoid lag and battery drains when installing viperS Rom

Hi guys what settings should I use when installing viperS Rom in order to avoid lags and battery quick drainage. Please I need help I have installed this Rom twice now and I experience lag and my battery drains quick.
The best solution for me was flashing Faux123 Kernel
I flashed sebastian kernel with the mod. So far it seems to help.
I asked this same question on viper site and this was many people's suggestion. Look on viper site a few pages back and the links are posted for the kernel. Then look for the mod in android themes and apps. I've had pretty decent battery so far.. best wishes

I forgot to say in tweaks in advanced settings, disable log cat for better battery life. You won't have logging, but most of us don't use the logging anyway.if you have problems and need logging just turn back on. But I keep mine off to save battery.

Best battery ROM for Sensation XE?

Hi guys, I was just wondering which ROM is the best for battery life. I am looking for any AOKP based ROM like Bruces CM10. I've heard that Android Revolution HD is the best battery life ROM, but I don't like the theme that its based on HTCs stock rom. Any suggestions for good ROMs for battery life?
I'm currently on Bruces CM10, lasts approximately 12 hours with about 2hrs and 30 minutes on screen usage (medium).
Try out a few different roms and see what works best for you. I like paranoid Android personally but you need to try out several roms and see which gives you personally the best battery life. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes. Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
Thank you, however could anyone tell me which ROM out of these two has the best battery life?
[ROM][Sense 4.1][11.11] Team Venom: ViperS 1.4.0
or
[KernelTUNER ] [4.1.2][ v.12 ][OS-2.54] OFFICIAL ParanoidAndroid
not everyone uses the standard battery.
you better self test.
is also more fun

Been using ARHD 6.8.0 on a Sensation and the other half's XE. Using sebastianFM kernel.
Slight undervolt and running at up to 1.5ghz. It goes easily a full day of moderate to heavy use. Can get 2 with light use.

Ah I do like the sound of that but I just don't like the stock look of that ROM.
it really depends on how you configure your phone and the kernel to preserve more battery life.

Yeah, at the moment I put my brightness on the lowest, turn wifi off when I can, and undervolted to 1024Ghz and I can just manage about 2 and a half of hours medium usage over a span of 12 hours.
Oh Iv been hearing about Virtious Inquistion ROM, hows the battery on that?
Also the ViperS 1.4.1 rom, can someone give me an insight to the battery on that?
