Good. A question (for possible future problems): Will they update from your source the vendor and device folder (in case of recent commits)?
Ah well, thanks for the advice,I'll need a major update to my github for CM6 so they'll eventually fork it (but I doubt it,nobody but me and mikegapinski for swift take care of cm6 now).

All changes now go through gerrit so my git will eventually become stale, although I might update it when things become more stable.
As for CM6, I'll be really surprised if they accept any commits, the last was accepted almost exactly a year ago on the 25th January. Their priorities are on other things now... http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged+branch:froyo,n,z

CM7 7.2.0 RC1 (18/MAR/2012):
[BUG] Headphones are always recognized as mic+headphones. Internal mic is then disabled thus making it impossible to answer calls on headphones with no mic.
[BUG] Blackscreen when recieving calls. Can't answer call. Phone randomly rebooting on calls (reported by few people).
[BUG] Camera gets stacked while is on when screen goes off.
[BUG] Camera rotates pictures and movies by 90 degrees. (fixed by rebooting phone, works 95% of the time).
[BUG] Exposures are not working on Camera.
[BUG] Video Camera force closes when restoring defaults.
[BUG] Too many resolutions for Camera.
Camera gives whitescreen, that's why mik submit his copybit library but it wasn't accepted
MaKTaiL said:
Nightly 2:
- [ADDED] New graphic driver (back to good old 60FPS on Neocore)
- [FIXED] Overclock settings
- [FIXED] Reboot recovery
- [FIXED] Phone turning off by itself
- [FIXED] Add new APN (This one might fix issues with T-Mobile in US, but I can't test here)
- [BUG] White screen on Camera (wasn't there on nightly 0)
- [BUG] Still too many resolutions for camera
- [BUG] Camera still force closes when restoring defaults on Video
- [BUG] During call, loud speaker doesn't work (reported by ravidahiya74)
I installed here and that's what I found so far.

If you read about how Adam managed to get Official support for our phone, you knew it must be based on new baseband. So please do not ask for old baseband. You can always flash this patch yourself.

Please notice recent CMW recovery bug, it can't restore sd-ext backups. I think it's recovery's kernel issue.

How is my post not dev-related? I clearly get the discussion to operative matters.
EDIT: for some reason I thought dev-only means development-only instead of developer-announce-only, sorry.
when use CM`s kernel it have OC but unstable (if compare with franco`s kernel)
i get /arch/arm/mach-msm/acpuclock.c from franco`s kernel and now it`s better
it stable and smoth at 768
maybe use it?
Guys, sincerely.. If you don´t want everybody posting here, hide this thread and make it private to the "dev gods" only, if it´s possible, otherwise people will keep posting here.
I´m LOLing very hard here, because some short sighted guys made a lot of unrespectful comments when I opened a "P500 nightly" thread discussion here.
Then the mods moved it over to general, and created TWO more threads, one here and one at general, and what´s the result? More confusion, more redundant threads, and all the bla bla bla about "only devs should post here" continues, no one will ever follow this rule.
Take a look at P920 forums. There we talk about bugs in DEV section, and no one is complaining, the forums are cleaner, we have less spam of people whining about rules.
If we can´t talk about a given subject, don´t keep a "postable" thread open for it.
Just my 2 cents.
@ Marcovecchio
First of all you MUST ask developer the permission to open a thread about his developing rom.
If you don't ask the permission or contact the developer before opening such a thread the confusion begins.
This forum have rules, to obey to these rules is a MUST for every user, if not you have anarchy and confusion and then the development stops.
There are also the unwritten common sense rules, also these are important.
Developer needs a thread to cooperate between other developer-grade peoples to exchange ideas and code.
THIS is that thread, only for developer, no noobs, none begging stupid and irritating questions, no spam and trash here.
Confusion is generated from people like you that don't shows respect for other people (developer in this case).
Disrespectful peoples should have the account deleted or suspended for some time, just to learn rules and to respect it and peoples.
The best thing you can do for the community is to ask a moderator to delete your thread in general area, there is the developer's "official" thread about the nightly's user questions in general area.
You are seriously disturbing this thread, I'm really sorry but I report this to the moderator trying to stop this spam.

maybe but i would not bet on that.
the one v uses the 8255 chipset, for that there are already many devices out while for our msm8960 the one s is the first.
they might keep the source back because of that.
but of course i hope they dont

so you think that htc doesn't want to "help" other manufacturers with their kernel adaptations?
possible but i can't imagine what htc would gain by holding the kernel code back on purpose. actually i think that since the community is always fixing their bugs and issues they can only profit from an early release of the code ... but let's see and hope that you are wrong

Really thanks!!!
Please dont stop with this port!!

4.0?
You mean 2.4 MIUIv4 based,right?
For it (2.4 miuiv4 based) the best is try to port for example asnet miui v4 ics(4.0.4) based.
But is easier to port a GB i think, or maybe to learn how, first begin with a GB (driver and modules compatibility)
Yes, I don't know really MIUI It's 2.4 then !
Bug and report :
--> No European Languages except English.
--> 3G, or APN don't work.
--> Keyboard is very little.
--> Translate partial of system, The notifications are in Chinese, but the system is in English.
--> Feedback is very weak.
--> Bluetooth don't work.
Good luck !
You created this yourself?
That's a damn good job.
Just improve the translation and it may be an usable version.
I have made it but it has lots of bugs~
Amazing work man. Keep it going.
abt bugs
All those bugs you mention earlier are the same from CM7 build. So untill those aren`t fixed there isn`t much to do abt them sadly

Good work wuhaoyu1990, please keep it up!
Will you also be releasing your MIUI v4 build that you announced here? CM9, despite not having a working camera, is actually more stable and suitable for everyday use. It has working APN, vibration has been fixed, the constant USB debugging notification isn't there etc.
Vibration in CM9 was fixed like this, my guess is it can be backported to CM7.
Thank you for bringing MIUI to the i9001!

That does not make any sense to me. The whole point of open source is to collaborate and work on each other's source code. The only condition is to leave credit where credit is due, which mazen912 did.
Cyanogenmod and AOSP are open sourced under a mix of Apache License and GPL. skywalker01 publishes his sources at github. Since he has not stated otherwise, his code automatically inherits the Apache Software License (ASL) 2.0. ASL allows the modification and redestribution of software in both source and binary form.
In summary, the spirit of open source is collaboration while crediting each and every contributor to the code. There is no reason why development should stop just because skywalker01 is on holiday.

it seems that some ppl don`t understand the meaning of AOSP and all the collaboration thingy ... I`ve tested CM7 and (dunno the skywalker`s work since he didn`t posted anything yet) mazen`s work was pretty awesome, CM7 was more functional than CM9 we have (the main reason is functionaly camera, even if the pictures aren`t full quality-that`s not a big thing to fix I think) and the BT...So before ppl should start report like crazy they should read a bit abt things...but we all know that`s not happening here on XDA sadly ;( nor other forums as far I can see ... ignorance is one of the ****tyest thing a human can have...Sorry if I upset someone but because of ignorance and stupid questions we lost alrdy a good developer for our gt-9001 (we all know why yarde left) and it`s sad that we can`t really stop this...Thank you maze for keeping up the good work and don`t stop mate, you are doing a hell of a job (in theese moments I wish I know some codding to give you guys a hand).

I just saw that you have certain issues with the Backlight of the device so while you are trying to fix it, kindly have a look at this:
Back Light Notification (BLN) MOD support
- Here's a kernel that supports it: SGS 2 kernel
- Here the developer's sources: GitHub
- Here is the MOD the kernel needs to support for BLN to work: XDA thread
If possible try to add this support as you are currently trying to fix it & may not need to change anything later-on. But this is just a suggestion & you can add it afterwards too.
Cheers !
Hey guys, make sure you flash it over ZSLE6 and not XWLA4.
Flashing over XWLA4 will result in force closing problems. Also, you won't be able to log into your google account.
please follow the "INSTRUCTIONS" given in this link then you wont have any Force close issues...
So that means incoming calls working now?

I did follow the instructions. I always do. The problems were there.
Then I flashed ZSLE6 and then flashed this. It worked like a charm after that!

Strange!! Incoming still doesn't work for me.
Also, I can't hang-up an outgoing call by pressing the end button
Maybe I should try and reflash. Will let you know if it helps.

And Nope. Doesn't work for me.
I don't think I am doing anything wrong. I have flashed CM7.2 like a hundred times on my ZTE-BLADE.
Could CWM be a problem? I am using Adam's v5.5. But, then it doesn't give any error and rest all is working perfectly fine
Anyone else facing this issue?
I was using neo rom v3 I had alot of apps and data can i get those apps?

FAQ's for CM ROMs
- You can add this to the OP if you deem fit & I would also request you to go through the Q & A's.
- If there's any correction to be made or if you want to add something to it then do tell me I'll do the needful.
________________________________________________________
@ALL
- A few FAQ's have been added & more are gonna be added soon, will try to keep on updating them through all the upgrades CM ROM receives but kindly do not have a discussion on the FAQ's thread there's a dedicated thread for it.
- If you want me to add some new Q & A to the thread, then post it in that thread, I'll add it asap

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on Droid Hive as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!
Unfortunately we do not actually have the i9305 device with us, so we are coding for it the best we can. Other users have reported it to be virtually flawless, very stable and smooth as seen in this original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246884
The only bug that seems to remain is when recording a video, audio is not recorded, only the video is recorded and the audio is just a hissing sound. The issue is fixed by flashing the yank555.lu cm10.1 v1.6b kernel. Hope that helps.
If you still have issues, feel free to report them on this thread. Or for even faster responses, just post them in our G+ community (found in my signature) and mention your device and build of Carbon. Thank you and we hope everybody enjoys the ROM!

First! Nice! Good luck on future deving!
From 14.06.2013. Nightly release, this my daily driver!!! For me, this is the best ROM for our lovely 9305!!!

Anyone else downloaded the newest 20.06 nightly ? I have 'com.android.phone has stopped' error continously.
May it be due to download error or something on your side?
I've had that with 18.06. release. Came back to 14.06. no matter if 17.06. is stable too.

All nightlies after 17th comes with an error. Getting fc's in com.android.phone (or something like that).
Can't provide a logcat ATM, @ vacation :3
Hopefully someone else can provide a logcat, else I'll just do it when I come home on sunday.
Cheers,
Sebastian

My FC appeared after full wipe (I was coming from stock rom, so it was required) and installing blackout gapps..
To my mind gapps have nothing to do with that fc, after ONLY flashing carbon zip I also had this problem :/
I hope you know how to fix it ;p

In zip package you already have original kernel from CarbonDev, however if you find that video recording error really annoying, it is recommended to flash yank's kernel.
And yank's kernels may be found here ---> http://www.yank555-lu.net

It is somehow going off topic, so last message: Yank didn't banned anyone from posting links to his forum. Furthermore, it is allowed by xda rules so I do not see anymore reason for not posting that link, as long as it is useful. And what's more, it is the first and the last kernel for aosp on i9305 forum There isn't anything more available atm...
To the topic!
Has anyone already tried the newest nightly 21/06 and might confirm that this 'com.android.phone has stopped' disappeared? Sincerely, I have downloaded it, but I just set up other ROM and want to try it for some time ;p And if it's fixed, I will consider flashing Carbon instead
Moreover, I'm very grateful to the devs for another aosp-based ROM ! We need more of these !
i flash 21-6 but it say my sdcard is broken but i flash another. rom the sd is fine

FYI if you flash Yank's kernel there's a very clear notice to not post any links to his kernel on XDA. I think something about some peeps attitudes on XDA peed him off. It's his wish, not XDA rules. Seeing that it's the only custom kernel for AOSP I'd suggest you respect his wishes. Flash his kernel, read his message yourself.. Personally I'm not overly sold on his kernel but I do have great respect for his dev skills.. anyway, just some food for thought.
