picture signature windows phone? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can a picture be added to my Outlook signature in Windows Phone like on Outlook for PC? If the answer is now then Windows Phone sucks balls.

??
I hope you kept your windows mobile device because from your post windowsphone isn't right for you yet.

Most pictures are blocked by spam filters or security defaults on the clients such as outlook. Wy would you want this?

Nope, unfortunately it broke and now it's hard to get a hold of one; believe me if I could I would. Hopefully MS will shut me up with Windows Phone ; really hope so.

Facebook

Hi,
I have a couple of friends on Facebook who play Farmville, cityville etc. I don't play these so wondered if there's any way to stop posts from these applications coming through my Facebook feeds in the people hub?
I've blocked these applications on Facebook and the posts don't appear any more when I access Facebook on my laptop or phones mobile browser but they keep coming through on the people hub? I've also tried deleting my Facebook account on the phone and then adding it again but still no joy!
Anyone any ideas? I have a Mozart by the way.
Cheers

That's strange. It does work for me that way.
Try to unblock the applications in facebook and then reblocking them. Maybe that'll do it.
+ 1 Thanks OP, thought it was just me (HD7)
I have tried unblocking and re blocking as suggested above but no luck. Maybe it will be addressed in Mango
Regards,
Creamy
Thanks for the replies.
@defining - I'll try unblobking then re-blocking just in case! I'll post if it works or not later!
@creamy - Good to know its not just me!
Well I've tried unblocking and re-blocking the apps, deleting my Facebook account from the phone and re-synching and several combinations of the above and still no luck!
Can anyone think of anything else I can try?
Cheers!

read this, solution there
Go into the people hub, at the top of your list of contacts there should be a picture of you. Click on it and it will take you to your "Me" page. In the app bar at the bottom there is an option to pin to start.

Just long press your name in people and pin to start. sorted

[Q] No Live messenger chat on secondary account in Mango??

Looks like it is only possible to chat via your main Live Messenger Account in Mango.. I have an older secondary account with about 100 contacts and I see nothing in the messages tile for them even when I know they are online... My primary account I use for Xbox Live and Zune... with no Live Messenger contacts.. Obviously both accounts work ok for email..
Am I missing something???

Nope, you're actually not missing anything. Chat will only work for your primary live id.

just like xbox live only works for primary live id... why wouldnt use ur older one as primary ?
I have the same problem. I am from India and I had set up a new live id with a fake US address when I got wp7 last year so that I could use the app store and other features. Though I use another live id as my main live id and have been using that since ages. So all my contacts, etc. are on that ID.
Now I can't use that ID on mango to logon to messenger. That sucks.
Any work around for that?

No.
That is, aside from downloading a separate app like Messenger by Miyowa and logging in with that.

Add Messenger Friend

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a way to add a Windows Live friend from the phone? Only way I found was to actually go to Hotmail web site and add it from there. But this takes a few minutes and is a little annoying. Any app to do just that?

Peoples Hub -> tap the + button on the bottom of the screen -> new contact -> Windows Live
Shouldn't that work?

The people hub manages all your contacts, specifically here, WL contacts. If they have a WLM account and you add that email to their contact, I do believe they will show up in chat.
Yes, I was referring to WP Mango. However, adding a Windows Live contact from the People Hub is not the same as Adding a Friend. When you add a friend, the other end has to specifically accept you as a friend. Only then will the contact show up as available for chat. If you add a contact (using only email) from the people hub, it wont even show up on your Messaging hub in the contact list. Only those with phone numbers and marked as friend are available to chat.
If I am mistaken, please let me know because it is annoying to have to go to the hotmail.com website to do so.

Yeah, only that to do that it takes me 5 times as long as it would with an app or phone feature.... It's a workaround, but there should be an app for this if the phone won't support it.

Can't download from marketplace. Account indicates I'm a child?

Setting up a new phone for my cousin and she's 20 years old. Anybody know why this message is coming up? I checked her hotmail and her birthday is set as Aug 1991.
Thanks in advance

Has she or you synced any other live services? i.e. Zune or Xbox?
Not syncd to Xbox maybe Zune. I will check that. If she's synced to Zune what would be the cause?

This is a speculation, but somewhere on Microsoft Answers it says re-adding the account helps. Also if you haven't gone through massive changes in the phone, it will be worth to try a hard reset. The during start up skip logging into the live services, let the phone reboot and after a reboot try accessing market, it will ask to log in - at that point enter the live ID etc. This way you would re-add the account for zune, xbox and other live services too.
Also, if her twitter/LinkedIn are linked with windows live ID, and if they have slightly different D.O.B. - it might be a cause. I've had similar issue with XBOX sync but wasn't much of a problem as most games were 16+ and it thought I was 19.
No massive changes. All I've added was her hotmail account. I tried resetting the phone already but will try it again and then reboot > market > login. Not sure what else to do after that besides make her a new account which she doesn't want.
I'll give this a shot and see how it goes.
Thanks drupad2drupad. Got it figured out last night. Signed into her account on zune and it prompted me for her 'parental' email since hers was created when she was 15 or so with her dads help.
Once I did that it set her account straight.

That is what I was going to suggest. There is a similar issue on xbox with problems caused by child accounts. I believe that there is a way to promote the child account to an adult one but I don't remember what it was exactly. I'd recommend doing this though to avoid future problems.
Edit: Here are the steps for xbox live

According to this it should nag you to promote it
