I really waited for ICS to my Nexus S. Finally I updated it was ok but then the problems start to appear...
First was with the dialer and the phone log. After receiving a call in the phone log there is only number when there should be the name of the recent caller. Sometimes there's a name and sometimes only the numbers. Same problem seems to be with sms but thats not so common. When I get sms there's only number of the sender when there should be a name of the sender.
Second was problem with 3G connection. My Gingerbread worked good I was in love with it. But after installing ICS I couldn't connect to internet with 3G connection. It allows me to send pictures and receive them and it uses 3G but internet browsing seems to be a huge problem.
I have tried every options and there was no help. Anyone else having same problem? Anyone have a solution?

Hello guys,
Thought you might help...
I bought an AT&T i987 locked to be used on rogers network. Rooted the photo and installed the app sgs unlock ran perfect.
Now, here's the problem I'm having after 1 month of use:
MMS: I can send SMS but I can't send nor receive MMS, I found a thread saying to play with the proxy setting rogers.mms.com wthv. It didn't work.
SMS: The hours written on my sent message is fine but every sms I receive are 5 hours sooner ( let say it's 15h30, It will show 8h30) Still annoying.
GPS: Some people says it's slow, but mine simply won't lock even after 5 minutes LOL. Do you need absolutly a data plan to make it work? I thought it was working like any garmin GPS out there. connecting to a satellite not the internet.
AT&T apps block ?? It won't let me download any apps out of the android market. is there a way to delete that stupid option?
And this is not related to my ATT phone but DAMN the call volume is very WEAK. I barely heard people's voice but they do heard me fine. It's like the speaker is simply too weak or there's a tweak for this?
Well guess I will start by saying MANY THANKS for your times!
To fix the mms issue do a search for the rogers message center phone number on google and input it in the stock messaging app.
As for the time issue its actually a rogers issue, either use a messaging app(handcent) that can offset the time or get sms time fix from the market.
Plenty of gps info around the forum, keep looking.
Have you tried flashing a rogers ROM to see if that fixes it?
Hello, I searched around and couldn't find anything that solves this problem
I have a Nexus S 4g, Rooted with ICS Tweaked ROM and it has been working fine once i settled all other issues it had, but I have a persistent problem that occurred when I was on stock as well.
I will have a problem with receiving all of my texts, I receive most of them, but every so often I will not get all of a message that has been split, sometimes I just won't receive them, other times it waits at most 15 minutes before receiving a mass of texts at once.
I was thinking it was a radio problem, since I have a problem in school when in certain room the phone will start roaming, then it will cut off the signal and won't receive signal again until I reboot.
Hi,
I have been using the Xperia custom ROM for quite some time now. I am very happy with the ROM overall but I have a big issue which I had with the original Xperia port as well. I am in UK. I don't get calls from unknown numbers. If I dial from mobile it comes fine. But if I dial from any landline where the number is blocked/private ( I used my office landline ), it doesn't even appear on my Nexus. But I can hear a very small ring on the landline I am dialing from and than it disconnects. On my Nexus S I don't even see a missed call, although it says - Data traffic disabled every time. And if the screen is turned on when I am calling on Nexus S if give the following error on screen- Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped. When I click OK, it just says Data traffic is disabled .
It might be a ROM specific issue but if someone else has faced the issue and know the resolution please let me know.
Thanks
I have the T-Mobile Variant and was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I turn on the Wifi calling since my signal is low where I live at. But when I try to send out a Text message, I keep getting an error immediately that it fails to send. So I turned off wifi calling and then the text message goes thru. Weird but was wondering if there is a fix for this? I spoke to a T-Mobile rep and she couldn't figure out the problem either. I do like the Wifi calling feature but if I need to send a text message I have to turn off the wifi calling every time. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Based on my research, it comes with the territory. I wish there was a hands off workaround.
I've had the same issue with multiple Samsung phones (Sidekick 4g, s4 and s5), I think it's just one of those little pain in the *ahem* quirks. Super annoying
What's super annoying is it works as it should (text messages through WiFi on sprint) so it has to be something T-mobile did in their implementation.
im having trouble connecting to the wifi calling service on my v10. what i mean is that i turn on wifi calling but nothing happens. the setting menu says it's on but i can't call or text or anything. It usually works since i have to use it every day at my apartment but often times it has problems working (whether it takes to long or it doesn't get set up at all) anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? also does anyone else have a problem downloading pics via text message and/or receiving messages from certain people while on wifi calling?
any help is appreciated
thanks
