Short answer, NO you cant, different framework.
Possibly, if Sense was ported to a custom rom for your device.
This has been tried for years and in the end the UI works but non of the important stuff does lime wifi, BT, data, things like that. It is very interfrated into the framework files and needs HTC drivers as well.
hmmm
thanks everybody
if somebody finds a way tell me please!

Check Launcher Pro in Market... It has all the widgets like htc sense it has. Also scrollable....
I own a htc DHD and Desire S but my favyourite Rom is Miui with this launcher because the widgets for e-mail and facebook i´ll wont loose.
Grab android pro Widgets. This will give you all the sense like Widgets on any rom you want.

I found these somewhere...i forgot where, but they work well on the hero. ill post them here.
i do have a question tho and hopefully the XDA community (You Guys) can help me out.
in both of the touchwiz apk's i have, the default screen is the first fine, im fine with that, but is there a touchwiz for our phones that have the default screen as the middle screen (like the epic)
what's so special about the touchwiz? What features does it have over launcher pro?
it's just for people who maybe wanted to try touchwiz, like me. Its kinda nice and I haven't noticed a lag

Isn't there a setting for default screen? I seem to remember this, setting hidden somewhere in the touchwiz settings.
from the mobile me
I didn't see an option like that. If u see that option then let me know

And why are the Samsung Widgets empty?
Going back to launcher pro

i think touchwiz looks like a ****ty iphone ripoff. OP thanks for posting but ill stick to AWD.
Samsung widgets r empty cuz we don't have any installed, and even if we could install them I doubt it'd show up. I do agree this is a rip off of iPhone, many others have said that, but I thought this would be nice to share. If u stick to adw or launcherpro, I understand (I'm using launcherpro plus, there is no lag in the latest update)

I would not mind it if it had calendar and bookmark widgets

Can this apk be installed over any Sprint 2.1 ROM (currently running fresh 2.4)?
for droid eris users the first touchwiz apk works just tried it on cyanogen tazz
This is kinda out of place in the Hero forum, but I installed the first one on my Samsung Intercept, and it works great!
It would be nice to see this touchwiz port get fleshed out throughout the OS; messaging and sounds and the whole nine
Is there a sence theme for the droid x? Like that has the dialer and the music player and the flip clock and everything?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
i am going to have to agree with this.
Do you mean like HTC SENSE?? The DROIDX doesn't have "sense" it has the Motorola blur overlay. Someone would have to build a theme for the X that made it look like HTC SENSE
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Well we know its not possible to build a ROM for it because of its locked bootloader, and there is a theme, it's just really not very good....If you want to make ur phone look like HTC Sense then do the following...
-Get an old version of fancy widget off 4shared.com
-Download HeLauncher and use the HTC Sense Homescreen
-For Lockscreen, download Lockbot or WidgetLocker and use HTC Sense Lock
-For Wallpapers I'm sure you can get on the market.

You can actually build ROMs for it no problem (look at CM7 now), the problem would be that HTC obviously doesn't release the source code for Sense, etc. So there's no possible way of going that route. A long time ago I remember seeing a pretty good Sense theme for Droid X, but I'm not sure if it's still being maintained anymore. I'll see if I can find a link
Actually, I do believe that the Sense User Interface is open-source. So all it would take is a good developer to build and port Sense for the Droid X.

miui has a sense 3.0 lockscreen
i highly doubt sense will ever work on a motorola device.
fyi, it never truly worked on the og droid either. no mms, no 3g, sdcard errors, constant reboots, and other errors.
but it was a good attempt.
@smyers1012 thanx for the info. I already had widgetlocker but then I dl lockbot. N I prefer it way better! Thanx

That's the problem isn't it. You have to decide whether you want the pretty UI of Sense, or the speed and battery life of CM7. Or you could try to find a Sense ROM that has the battery life of CM7. Have you tried BinDroid? I tried that recently and was getting 48 hours out of a charge. There are two versions. A partially themed 2.3.5 version, and a fully themed 2.3.3 version.
Unfortunately you'll never get any Sense dialer/contacts running on a non-Sense ROM.
I keep coming back to Sense. Sure CM7 is slicker than a buttered weasel, but no one is batter at the Dialer, Contacts, Clock, Calendar etc than HTC.
Dialler one is good replacement for sense dialler

In my opinion Email, Calendar and Dialer apps from Sense 2.1 look bad. They are polished in Sense 3.0 but instead of Dialer I still use GO Contacts Ex. You will try it and never get back to stock one.
I recommend ex dialer
And for messaging go sms pro is the best
Ex Dialer is good... Thanks!
I am a fan of Go SMS Pro, however the recent update only does a back up and restore to the cloud!
I wonder , Why did they have to remove the backup and restore to the SD card option? :banghead:

Just use sms backup and restore

I have never used Ex dialer.... but I can vouch for go contacts its smooth, has many themes... give it a try...

I love the sense contacts; till now I did not find a proper replacement for it even after trying all kinds of contact apps. One problem I see mainly is they can never completely replace the built-in dialer & phonebook they keep poping up in some scenarios even after wasting making the new app default. This results in RAM wastage.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have an HTC launcher on a Samsung device?
Google gives me nothing and I really miss the Sense 3.0 launcher.
I already have those far from perfect skins and themes, but I want the real thing.
I want the carousel effect, the 3D effect, and the floaty lockscreen widgets.
I imagine that it can't really be all that hard, can it.
Can't it just be installed like all the custom launchers?
Or it could be extracted from a HTC ROM and placed in a Galaxy rom instead the Touchwiz launcher.
Anyway, I hope someone can inform me about all this.
I would like to know about this as well.

1. The launcher relies on the HTC Sense framework which refers me to point #2:
2. The HTC Sense framework is proprietary and closed-source .
So it is not possiele to just grab a random HTC sense 3.0/3.5 custom Rom and make it compatible with different hardware?
And if so, how are those custom Roms made in the first place?
If i find the time, i'm gonna experiment with this.

It's not possible even with same hardware , you may even get sued by HTC
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Before this phone I had a HTC hd2 and it ran Sense 3.0, doesn't that prove enough?
I don't think we're on the same page.

Wasn't HD2 capable to run both android and wm?
There's a video on YT that presents Incredible S - stock running on Galaxy S.
Oh well , you can do that.....but you cannot make it public.....might get a C&D letter from HTC
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Thanks, i'll keep it to myself then.
I'll post the portable results here.

Yeah I wish someone could port a touchwiz rom just to try. Themes don't change the apps built in, but it would probably be a pain to port. Use the galaxy s themes in the market, if you use miui theres a complete theme that themes everything.

You can try porting over some of the touchwiz apps you like best. The music player and messaging app are pretty easy. Actually building a touchwiz rom isn't that hard its just nobody here wants to take the time to do it. If you like it so much I'll look into porting over. I can have you a temporary port with just the basic apps and Widgets from tw including the launcher here in the next day or two and hopefully a near complete galaxy experience for the inspire in the coming weeks
