Yes... that's all you have to do. Just boot into recovery and restore the nandroid backup.
Beamed from the Dark Side using xda premium.
If there is no ROM manager In miui,
either install ROM manager and restore from there
Or from advance power menu reboot into recovery and goto backup and restore.
Or
switch off phone. Hold Vol down and press power, release power first and Vol down to enter into recovery and restore from there

I have been unable to restore any of my nandroid backups. They are all listed, but nothing happens when I select one. I tried doing it first with ROM Manager and then tried the Vol Down - Power button approach. All I get is a blank screen. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have no trouble installing ROMs from the SD card.
u should have a custom recovery installed in the first place.. do this..
go to recovery by holding down home+vol down+power..
use the stock nandroid backup..
Did you say to hold down Home+Vol Down+Power? I haven't heard of using the Home button before.
yes in some buttons its home button+power+vol down
try it
Try updating CWM in ROM Manager. The latest version is 3.0.1.0
I tried flashing ClockworkMod using ROM manager, and the first time I tried it I got ClockworkMod 2.5. I have tried several more times, but now it immediately responds with a message saying it was successfully downloaded. It couldn't have downloaded anything that fast! Also, I have made several nandroid backups but am unable to restore them and am wondering if I need to have S-OFF for it to work. If so, how well does the Unlockr unrevoked-forever.zip program work? I can flash it from the SD card since I have successfully flashed the Froyo USCC ROM. That much does work.
They should be there.

so, i just want to flashed a new rom, then i reboot in recovery, then i restored my data. at some point i saw a text shows cache.img was not found. then i reboot the system, the phone just stuck on the boot animation. please help. urgent
Which ROM did you flash? Did you flash gapps?
What are you doing when you say get into recovery and restore data? Are you trying to restore last ROM's /data from recovery?
If yes, then that's the reason you are stuck at boot screen. Factory reset &flash the ROM again and let us know if you are able to boot.

[Q] Help!
Okay. So i just rooted my phone yesterday and i flashed a ROM. Well I forgot to backup all my apps and such. So I went back into CWM and I cleared data and flashed my nandroid recovery file. That completed successfully, so I push restart system at the top. Well now it is just stuck in the boot screen and won't do anything. How do I fix this! HELP!

I can't get into CWM either. It just keeps rebooting and getting stuck on the boot screen.
For getting back to CWM, pull the battery (USB unplugged) so it turns off fully, put the battery back in, hold the volume up and down both on the left, and turn it on (hold power until you see something, let go of power but keep holding the volume keys). Once you see CWM come on, you can let go of the volume keys.
You flashed what from what? If what you flashed isn't the same major OS version, the nandroid backup is probably only going to be helpful through Titanium Backup or some other program since you won't be able to flash it successfully.

Ok so I tried to get back into CWM and it was unsuccessful. It just gets stuck on the boot screen still. I flashed my 2.3.6 stock rooted nandroid backup from this custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1404863 . I can still get to recovery mode just not CWM. Any ideas?
Okay... recovery mode but not CWM... what does that mean?
CWM IS recovery mode. Are you trying to get into download mode instead? For that, battery pull, battery in, plug in USB to computer, hold volume... up (I think), turn on (power button until the screen lights up), let go of power, should be in download mode.

Yeah.. I meant i couldn't get into recovery mode but I can get into download mode. Do you think this would get my phone working again? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498
Working as a phone, yes. If you can get into download mode, you should be able to flash stuff. If you flashed from Froyo to GB-custom, use the one-click twice... first to get the basic ROM over, then tell it to do bootloaders as well. If you flashed from GB to GB-custom, then you only need to flash once.
I'd suggest using the second link, BWaT+stock. Basically, from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822626
If you have any problems, make sure you're following the guide fully:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21953878&postcount=2
After you get it booting up with root, you can extract apps from the nandroid using Titanium Backup or something else similar.

I rooted my galaxy tab 2 p3100 and unlocked its bootloader a few weeks back. Now i want to flash custom roms. But before that i want to backup the stock rom and stock recovery. I got many guides to easily backup stock rom. But is there a easy way to backup the stock recovery ???( p.s. is there anything else i should backup before flashing custom roms ? )
If you are rooted, I recommend install CMW (ClockworkMod Recovery).
After CMW gets installed on your tab then press POWER and VOLUME UP button simultaneously till you see the Samsung tab2 logo then release it.
In few seconds your CMW is displayed.
(To control the options
Use VOLUME UP button to go up.
Use VOLUME DOWN button to go down.
Use POWER button to select.)
After it displayed choose the option named BACKUP AND RESTORE and There backup your current firmware ( it takes few minutes, have patience) After backup is completed you are good to go and taste latest android version via custom ROM.
Good luck :sly:
