[THEME] Minimal Matte Theme for CM6.1 RC1 (11/14/2010)

Hey everyone. I just uploaded my first theme. It is a minimal matte theme that I think is clean and sexy. Let me know what you think. There were lots of similar themes but none I could get working right for my N1 with CM6.

Install Instructions:
1. Install CM 6.1 and gapps
2. Boot into CM 6.1 first and go through setup screens (otherwise contacts.apk won't work right).
3. Reboot into recovery and flash theme.
4. In Cyangogen Settings, choose custom theme. Select the one corresponding to the notification bar color you use.
Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0.0 Final
Install Instructions:
1. Install CyanogenMod 6.0.0 Final. I have only tested the theme on CM6, but you can feel free to try it on other roms and report your success of failure.
2. Flash the Minimal-Matte-CM6-N1.zip file from recovery. This will install the theme as well as some additional files to your sd card which will be used for icons. For clockwork recovery: turn off signature verification if update fails.
3. When it boots, you can choose between ADW and LauncerPro. Select LauncherPro as some parts of it have been themed for this. I highly recommend buying the LauncherPro Plus version. The widgets are awesome and well worth the $3.
4. Once it boots up, go to Settings->CyanogenMod Settings->User Interface->Tweaks Extras->Import Colors from XML.
4. Using LauncherPro, hit the menu button on the bottom and select Preferences. Go to Appearance Settings->Dock background->Custom. On your SD card is a folder named "Dock." Select the black dock.
5. To change the icons and shortcuts on LauncherPro's bottom row, long press the icon and select "Change shortcut." Select your application and when the icon selection comes up, choose "Custom." Browse to the "icons" or "icons_reflective" folder on your SD card and select once of the icons. If there is an app you want for a shortcut and there is not an icon, let me know what you want and I will try to get it made for you quickly.

Changelog
v6.1: Added custom xml for CMTheme on SD card
v6.0: Update black bar version to CM 6.1 RC1. Black status bar with white icons. Green progress bar and highlight colors. Added sms unreadcount mod. Added new animation to framework. It is pretty slick. Thanks to [email protected], aamikam, and MagnusRagnarok.
v5.0: Updated to CM 6.1 RC1. Updated Facebook and Twitter app. Changed dock to white with black icons. More that I don't remember...
v4.1: Same as v4. Updated ESPNScoreCenter and Pandora.
v.4: Updated icon packages. Updated LauncherPro to v0.7.9. Removed ScoreCenter until I can retheme it. Updated Browser.apk to hopefully fix the weird bookmark issue (Thanks to djdarkknight 96!)
v3.1: Cleaned up the .zip file a little and reworked some system sounds.
v3: Updated Astrid Tasks error where it would change backgrounds in landscape mode. Updated some Browser icons. To do: fix bookmark icon in browser? Anybody know the correct location? My memory failed me.
v2: Updated contacts app to include transparency. Updated to reflective icons for LauncherPro dock.
v1: Fixed issue with signature verification in Amon ra recovery. For clockwork recovery: turn off signature verification if you get a signature failure when you try to flash.
Beta v1: Initial Release
MinMatte CM6.1.1 only 12/21/10
Wow, looks great! Good job! Also thanks for the mention!
******************************************
CM6.1.1 Update.zip is up BUT not tested!!
Made market apps installable instead of morph, easier to update from the market. Just unzip "MinMatteMarket-Apps-Themed.zip" on your sdcard and install with file manager. Note, if you have the one from the market you must uninstall it first then can use the themed version. If already themed and I have a new update you can install on top without uninstalling!
********************************************************************
Metamorphs:
Look Here for additoinal help on Metamorph!
TURN ON USB DEBUGGING!!!!
Menu>Settings>Application settings>Development>USB Debugging
Step 1
Download MetaMorph from the Market.
Step 2
Download the MetaMorph file Minimal-Matte-CM6.1-v1-N1.zip and place it on your sdcard. I have a folder on my sdcard called "morphs" where I place all of my metamorph files.
Step 3
Open the MetaMorph app, select always allow, then press allow. Select Pick theme. Go to the folder where you put your metamorph files and select the one you want to apply.
Step 4
If you want to apply everything in the morph, then select apply all. MetaMorph will then begin to run through the process of applying the images to your .apk's. This will take a while if there are a lot of .apk's to be skinned.
Step 5
Once MetaMorph has gone through the process of applying the theme, You are done. Unless you applied a morph which has framework-res.apk in it, it will reboot by itself, then you will have to reboot your phone again, then you are done.
Note: Pay attention to the morph and if doesn't complete it might reboot in the middle or do like me and apply one at a time so you can resume where it left off!
********************************************************************
Custom Icons
"Located in SDCARD.zip" - might be more in OP downloads
You can use the Mirror icons files in the OP to use as Custom Shorcuts but have to have them on your SDcard. some are in the SDcard.zip file, to appy make a folder called Custom Shortcuts to filnd when you want to add a shortcut for an app. Long press the home screen and select CUSTOM SHORTCUT and use the wizard to select the app and Icon you want to use! Launcher pro will be the only one that can change the app drawer though FYI!
********************************************************************
Media.zip
These are custom sounds that can be copy pasted with Su file manager or root explorer..to /system/media/audio/ui/
Make sure you mount the system folder first before pasting!!!
OR
with adb push to /system/media/audio/ui/
*********************************************************************
Notification Bar
Put the cmparts_ui.xml file from the SDcard.zip in the CMTheme folder on your sdcard and apply thru cyanogen mod settings:
Menu>settings>cyanogenmod settings>user interface>tweaks extra>select a theme>cmparts_ui (If no folder on sdcard, make one called "CMTheme")
Make sure you turn off Custom Status bar in the CyanogenMod Settings:
Menu>Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Use interface>Notification colors> UNCheck "Custom notification bar" and Custom Pulldown bar to see the theme effects!!!
********************************************************************
To remove morph and start over just reflash CM6.1 or Nightly with gapps!
Let me know if I missed anything!
Enjoy!

Any chance you can tell me what font you are using for the launcher icons? I like the text icons but I wish the font was a bit larger.
Otherwise awesome work, I love this theme a lot, my all time favorite.

Transparent Statusbar CM10.1

I liked the transparent statusbar of the Galaxy S4 so much that i searched a bit in the internet.
Then I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2234355
I followed the TuT and it worked!
But it´s still buggy.
Download: http://d-h.st/4J3
Installation:
1.Download and install it with CWM
2.Wipe Cache/Dalvik
If you don´t want it anymore flash this: http://d-h.st/VJH
Thanks @Adi Aisiteru Reborn for the TuT!
This is exactly what I was looking for Thanks!!!. So the Bugs... What are they?
EDIT: Ok tried myself and the bugs are
1. Lockscreen not working. Unlock can be done by Menu button only.
2. Notification Menu is messed up.
Now the Remove Zip is not working too. I reflashed the Nightly which got me back to original settings.
Thanks for testing!
I will look into the bugs
edit: I tested it myself
1. I can't face the problem with the lockscreen
2. Do you you use stock theme? On other themes it's not working correctly.
3. For me the Remove zip works did you wipe Cache/Dalvik?
One bug that i found is that the statusbar backround is a little bit slow with updating especially on the home screen.
Ok so it must be the problem with the THEME. No I didn't check on Stock Theme and thats why I think the Lockscreen and Remove Zip failed. Will check on Stock theme and will revert back.
It works fine in homescreen and lockscreen:thumbup: but whn i use taptalk, whatsapp, chrome, contacts, messaging the status bar color changes to white
And after flashing the zip my Google play store stopped working. :banghead:
Hit thanks if i helped you!!
I think it`s because in the most apps is nothing behind the statusbar. Thanks for testing and the screenshots

Mixer Theme won't let me use any GAPPS

So I downloaded the Mixer theme from the CM7 forum yesterday and realized today that while it's selected as my current theme I cannot access any of my gapps. Gmail, playstore, etc. As soon as I change my theme I can then access any of my google apps as I wish. Any ideas as to why a theme would be doing this? I also have a zip themer morphed lockscreen mod installed as well. But I have never has any user issues with morphed theming before.
Anybody? Can't seem to find a fix =(

Misc Apks (HotspotAdvancedSettings.apk, LocationBasedWifi.apk, ReadyToRun.apk)
Features:
Dark (but not pure black) themed apps for more comfortable usage.
I find that pure black apps put more strain on eyes than dark grey. Perhaps caused by high white\black contrast.
Dark holo background.
I really liked holo background, even if it has some color banding. Imho looks much better than plain black\grey image.
Based on Z1 Compact apk's.
I.e. apk utilises icons and images native for our xdpi resolution.
All themed apk's are up to date.
If not, please, PM me
No tabs in Notifications.
Just because =)
ZipAligned.
Works both on Odex and Deodex.

Fixed Download link.
just flashed, tried all the features and they're working great
just two things
1. on the recent apps launcher, there are small white borders around each of the small app icons that are superfluous (would look better if they weren't there)
2. i used to have a system UI mod that allowed 6 icons (without text) on the notification panel which i prefer. reflashed it over your mod and managed to get it back
Works very nice, much thanks. Any chance you can change the messaging app to black as well?
This looks great and I'd really love to try it. But dev-host is always slow AF for me. This is a big problem for me when I try to download "large" files. Getting like 5KB/s download. Would take hours to get the file. Would appreciate a mirror.
Removed link as requested.

Actually, one of the reasons that I've decided to make my mod was that "[MOD] Z1C.108 black UI V2.0 (31.8.2014)" is based on Z1 (not Z1 Compact) apps, so it doesn't have all the proper xdpi icons and images, as Z1 is a xxdpi device. Not that I do not appreciate work @laginoo has done. :good:
thank you ... no border version of the recent apps launcher would be great, as would the Documents/Downloads UI
there were also some other (but less commonly used) menu items that still appear white: sub-menus in Personalization, Ringtone/Notification sound selector, Complete Action with dialog, etc. and if you had time to spare it'd be great if you could darken these as well!
thanks for all your efforts!

Having some issues with dialer/contacts (I think) but don't know if it's from your theme or some other modifications I did. There is no dial button in portrait mode, only in landscape. Are you having this issue as well?
Edit: Also white version (I believe these are the original ones) gives error while trying to flash in both TWRP and CWM. I also tried downloading again with no luck.
Had the same issue, navigation bar disappeared after proper installation. Had to back up data

Having some issues with dialer/contacts (I think) but don't know if it's from your theme or some other modifications I did. There is no dial button in portrait mode, only in landscape. Are you having this issue as well?

Hmm... Did you install framework-res.apk from my mod?
Hi! Yes I selected "all files" at each step of the installation. I just retried, still no nav bar nor status. Strange. I use Gravity Box, Gem Xperia and Xperia xposed ! Might interfere ?

To make it clear is navbar those softkeys with back, home and recent? If yes I'm not complaining about those. I hid those on purpose and I'm using gestures. I'm taking about the green phone icon not present in portrait mode, that's my problem.
Edit: OK so my problem was exactly from hiding softkeys and not from your mod. Once I enabled them back phone icon is visible again in portrait mode.
unable to sideload apk
after installing v2 of this mod, I've not been able to sideload apk files. the usual "install" dialog appears, but after clicking "install" I get an error message saying my file manager cannot open the file
i've tried this with different file managers, same problem. anyone else experiencing this issue?
Yes ! I have also the bug when trying to install an apk with a file manager ... problem could be on PackageInstaller.apk ... i' m downloading the white restore package (should be stock) and will try to flash only this apk ...
If not working will restore my cwm backup and will try to replace apk with stock ..
Give u report after... :highfive:

think you may be right (about the fact that is is packageinstaller.apk) ... let me know how your workaround goes
i am still able to install apks via terminal and adb, just not via file manager. other sideloading attempts, e.g. via the Xposed client also don't work after installing this mod

Using white apk restore doesnt fix the problem, so i' ve restored my backup
After this i reflashed dark app v2 fix without selecting package installer in second screen and the problem is gone, i can install any apk using file manager again ...Also xposed works again for installing ....
So @TheQwertiest i think you have a bug in package installer apk
Thanks for you work
Hope you will find a fix ...(not really important for my personnal usage)

I'm so sorry guys!!! I know what the problem is with package installer - PackageInstaller.odex file is missing. Also there is a typo in restore package, so it won't even start flashing.
I want to fix it as fast as I can, but I'm in Japan currently without my PC, so can't do anything till I return...
I will roll the fix as soon as I return (around 8th November).
Sorry again and thx for those bug reports!

Kitkat 4.4.4 Lollipop makeover (Official Sony UI)

Hello everyone... this thread is basically about changing your stock 4.4.4 firmware to look like the Sony official lollipop UI. There are various steps involved in this and I have tried my best to put together the tweaks and customization and share them with the people who like the original xperia UI and can't wait for lollipop. Please thank people who have made all these apps, modules and different things, I just put them together and I'm not even seeking for credits... Thanks.
Prerequisites -
1. Xperia E3 (Any variant) or maybe even work on any xperia with kitkat installed.
2. FULL ROOT ACCESS (Really Important).
3. Internet (Just to download stuff)
4. A little knowledge about flashing (In case something goes wrong).
5. Patience...
So here we go...
Things Used -
1. Xposed modules used - APM+, blurred system ui, screen off animation, Eggster, Flat Style Colored Bars, GEM Xperia Xposed, Heads Up Notification, Monster UI, Unicon, Xperia Xposed (KK), Xstana. (Install them all and activate them in xposed framework.
2. More apps used - Xperia Material sh theme, Digital Clock Xperia (Widget), Lollipop Land (Eggster Game), Theme Xperia (Icon Pack), Numix Calculator, google messenger, google calendar.
3. Wallpapers (Link will be given)
Method -
1. Install the latest firmware for your phone (4.4.4) (Flash ftf with flashtool)
2. Rooting method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e3/development/twrp-twrp-recovery-sony-xperia-e3-t3071382 This is the kernel by @vinay which has inbuilt init.d support... after flashing this kernel just boot into TWRP recovery and flash superuser.zip (Search google for it)
3. After that, download the package from this given thread...this will help you to change your UI....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e3/themes-apps/variants-xperia-z3-theme-xperia-e3-t3065588
After downloading the package, extract it in a new folder and copy the folder with files you just extracted to your SD card in your phone... After that replace all these files in the folder with files in root/system/apps (leave out the skin-core.apk) Set permissions of recently replaced files to 644 (rw-r--r---) and reboot your phone... Now you should have a different kind of UI. (Credit goes to @kevinhecox99)

7. Unzip the wallpapers package and copy them to your SD card in your phone... Then copy those wallpapers to root/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/wallpapers and change permission to 644 (rw-r--r---). Reboot and you'll see the wallpapers in the homescreen pinch option. Apply any of the new wallpapers ( I use the blue one)
8. Download the smart lockscreen app --------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-smartlockscreen-android-enjoy-t2919989 and install it... Set it up by yourself it's very easy.... and you're done... Everything is setup up and should be looking like the thing you see in my screenshots....

But whenever I flash that kernel, I don't need to use universal init.d When I used to install the CWM kernel... then I used to install universal init.d I don't understand.... It mounts everything during boot... It's like full root access...

Both cwm and twrp kernel use same thing,s but different recovery, s
If there is this thing happening then it must be due to something else than kernels.

Yeah it's ok bro, thanks :3 you actually did a good job :3 totally satisfied :3 you must have worked hard on figuring this out right? and ermm there seems to be a problem with Monster UI. I tried 5 times and 4 out of 5 gave me systemUI error (cannot open systemUI). So yeah, basically there will be risk in doing this so i recommend you backup before having fun with the phone ))

Yes Kevin I used to get that message as well...that's basically after ticking the "Notification header layout" which is still experimental and buggy in this app and I have mentioned too that not to tick that option... If you haven't ticked that option and you're still getting the System UI error then I guess that it's something else.... If you could post the screen of the settings you've applied I could help you. And I wanted my phone to somewhat look like lollipop ui that's why I came across all these apps and modules and I figured that I should share it here as well so that some people who are looking for lollipop look on their kitkat devices they might find this a little helpful.
Monster ui is not working properly
