Hey there guys!
I have a LG P500 and have flashed it with cyanogenmod. There is an issue/concept that is still not clear in my head regarding basebands. What exactly is a baseband and what is its importance? How do I know if I have an old or new baseband, and if I do have the old one, how should I upgrade (if it is possible)?
Many thanks

There is no option to update baseband via cwm, this is only solution so far.

You can flash an O3d baseband to the thrill? If so, which baseband is recommended for a gingerbread flash?
Thanks!
i use baseband from official v21a gingerbread and it is workin fine for me,no ghost calls or something like that.
you should flash official gb for thrill and then search custom roms in development section for thrill 4g.
Hey guys! I'm new to this forum and I had a question.
So I have an LG Optimus T p509 and I flashed Clockworkmod through ROM Manager and managed to install the Cyanogenmod 9 ROM. The only problem is, I don't have service. I heard that I should update the baseband, but the last time I did that I semi-bricked my phone and I don't want to have to go through that again. Any answers are appreciated. Thanks!
Go to the following thread and click on "Old Baseband Fix". Download and flash the file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444328
You will have to flash that file for all new baseband roms.
Hey guys,
I just got my N8000 and i havebeen reading how root it. My baseband is XXALI3 and my build number is XWALI4, I havent been able to find what region is that.
That aside, with this BB and firmware, once I root, can I flash any stock or custom rom?
May be this is a rookie question, and Ive had 3 other android devices before, root and flashed them all with custom roms. BUT I just want to make sure.
Thanks
Hello,
First of I would like to apologize if I am posting in the incorrect area.
I got my LG Optimus P925G Rooted. Its on Rogers Wireless network in Canada.
Its running Android version 2.3.5, and the Kernel is 2.6.35.7
The software version is V20c-dec-22-2011
I would like to get Jelly Bean 4.2 installed on this phone, Is that possible, and if so, where is the download link for it? I have searched google many times for this and had no luck. If anyone may please direct me, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you kindly.
Hey, i recently flashed my P500 to [AOSPA 4.2.2] [UNOFFICIAL] [ROM] [30MAR] ParanoidAndroid 3.15 - LG-P500 | Build #1 and now my baseband is unknown, is there a fix for it or is it possible to get back my old baseband?
Flashed from 2.3.4.
Also if this helps, the baseband version that was on 2.3.4 was:
v07u-000-000-mar-23-2009
The rom you flashed does not change your baseband. Although it may not recognize it if you have old baseband. I have seen this v7 listed in the past (incorrectly on custom rom), but I really don't remember if I had old baseband at the time. However, chances are that you have old baseband, and the 4.2.2 rom that you flashed is made to work with new baseband. The oldbbfix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963815
Will allow the rom to use your old baseband. This will need to be flashed every time you install a new baseband rom. It does not change your baseband, and is reversible by using the newbbfix from the same thread. If you choose instead to flash new baseband via lgmdp, beware that you can lose your imei permanently if the flash goes badly. So the safer option is the baseband fix.
sent from the p509 that I thought I killed again... no trouble at all
thank you very much, it worked
Glad to help.
