i just wanna ask how to install and run ubuntu ?
Look for linux installer on the market, or ubuntu guide. Either should work.
don't use its not safe for the g tab
Fully rooted Galaxy Tab Plus & I run Backtrack 5 with AndroVNC, without issues. Not all the time but sometimes just to show off.

I think this is a cool idea. I'm at work now so I can't test it.
Which O.S. is this gui written for? windoze or Linux?
Sent from my I897 using XDA App
used it. its nice. its cool. its not for me .
its just easier for ME to just adb push C:\blahblahblah?\blah to /blah/blah
or just " adb reboot download"
but this is nice for others that are new to ADB and commands
great work
you may want to re-post or ask moderator to move to : Android > General
as this isnt specific to captivate. any android novice would love this tool.
great job!

what's the problem?
Bootcamp or live cd or a friends pc (or try htcdev). Rrmember do.it at your own risk.

that's also possible.
i just used for example the scripts files for linux.
after modifying some commands - it will also work on macintosh (but you've to work with terminal - no gui!)

if its too much to ask im sorry, i will do some more searching.
thanks either way.

hello everyone
today i see some People install Ubuntu on Android phone!
http://androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-development/how-to-install-ubuntu-on-android/
chacha can do?
my English is bad
Yep, it should work. I installed Ubuntu with LXDE on a Desire at work 2 days ago. The main problem is that you will use VNC which lags the hell out of the phone and ubuntu.

chacha can do this?
The hardware on both phones is quite similar. So yeah, ChaCha should be able to do this.
can i know the reason why u need to install ubuntu on ur mobile phone?
Because ubuntu is not a Mobile OS, it is designed to run in Desktop or Server platform and it use more resource than a Mobile.
If u miss Terminal, Android have it - Terminal mobile (without help)
If u only want to show the posibility of Android phone, u can try Vmwre on Android, i saw my friend install and run sucessfully Windows 7 on his Android ^^
I didn't know that there is vmware for android

How did I compile cyanogenmod 10 for our fit on windows 7/8 platform? Which software needed? Any idea devs?

You can use either vmware to load up linux, or "dual boot" using wubi...
Or a much more traditional, pure dual boot windows and ubuntu...
Any of the 3 methods would do...
They are in order of ease and risk of setup, with vmware being the easiest and least risky...
You need a linux platform (preferably ubuntu, for beginners)...
Compilation and source sync tasks cannot take place on windows...
Thanks.

hi
i would have posted this in the related thread but i have less than 10 posts so i cant
Anyway, I have been trying to get ubuntu as a dualboot on my tf101. I have sucessfully managed it with OLiFE PRIME and it works quite well. However, when I try and do the same thing with the net-install, it all installs, Android works, i can connect to the net and it downloads all the required packages but i am unable to get to ubuntu when i reboot. It keeps taking me to TWRP. This happens whether i install it as primary or secondary os. Android always works, but ubuntu doesnt.anybody have any suggestions as what im doing wrong or is there something im supposed to do that i havent seen!? The jhinta kernel installs and all seems to go without errors or problems.
I've been googling and repeatedly trying for nearly a week and i havnt come across anybody with the same problem. Any help would be gratefuly received.
No-one can help? Really?
